Duke Pikachu I think the point is that I'm supposed to know what the email is or they won't give me the account back, so I don't think I can just ask the staff member for the email. I asked my parents for our first family email address, so I hope this is the one I used. *crossing fingers* Well I was going to bring up the point is that if the email doesn't exist anymore you can tell them to try sending a message to it. They'll receive back a message that the email doesn't exist thus they'll know it doesn't exist and its you are talking to them. Like you and I said, the point of being able to provide them other information is if for some reason you can't remember the email for having gotten rid of it/just not using it anymore. If you knew the e-mail (and it existed) you would have just access it and ask for a password reset. Obviously that's not the case thus why all the additional information you provided to prove you're the owner.

This thread reminded me I needed to inquire about my old account. If I don't get access to it it's no biggie, but it sounds like you have major problems with a hacker or something and I hope you get proper help soon!

So I think I may have to come to terms with the fact that I will never get my main account back I just gave them the oldest email my family had and that one wasn't it. Then, after talking with my father, it seems like when I made the account, we didn't even have internet access at the time/an email address. Meaning I probably used a friend's email to make the account... aka a friend from when I was 12, which was 12 years ago. To top it all off, my account is now frozen. This makes me so upset and rather angry. I just can't believe I need to come up with a random email to prove my account. Goodbye vanessa1357924680.

Goodbye vanessa1357924680. *hugs* I can understand why TNT is so persistent about having the original email - it's something that only the creator of the account should know - but still, you have heaps and heaps of other evidence and that should count for something. You can provide proof of 12 years' worth of activity on your account and it's not enough. I don't know what else to say other than I am so so so sorry that you were the victim of this

Okay, you don't have the email, but you have so much evidence surely there must be a way to get your account back that way.

Is there a way you can show previously rejected NT entries? Or something--anything--that would be an item only you have? I used to give them rare item codes and NC card numbers since it's something only I could have ownership of. I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this and I hope it all works out for you...

Oh no. I just had the same problem. I was checking through trades when I was suddenly logged out. I can't log back in; it says bad password. I changed it through my email and entered the new one but it STILL says I've got my password wrong.
What should I do? It just happened in a split second.
Is it another scam? Has my account been banned or something?
(I don't have any side accounts)
***
EDIT: I registered a side account and checked my main user lookup. Unfortunately, it has been disabled. I have absolutely no idea why. I'm really frustrated. If I don't get my account back, I'm quitting Neopets.
***
UPDATE: I realised that the user who scammed me had his account disabled at the same time as me. Could it be because of that ...?

Hmm, in some cases where a user has been scammed they'll freeze both the scammer and victim's account until they can sort out what happened. Obviously send a ticket on your side account asking what happened. Though wait, you said you were able to reset your password but it still says it doesn't work? That's odd, does it say the password is wrong? When an account if frozen TNT will have a message explaining why when the user tries logging into it.

They asked for my username, I typed it, the website says the username exists. An email was sent, I created a new password, then I used the new password but it said that the new password was wrong. I didn't get any message or anything of the sort? It's just like the follow-up page of your active Neopet being angry because of your incorrect password (the normal one). If you check my user lookup though, it says that the account has been disabled. I've sent a ticket and included all the things I had in my account (although I don't know if that was necessary). I just tried logging in again. Same message: "bad password".

It's all on TNT's end now.

When an account if frozen TNT will have a message explaining why when the user tries logging into it. Not necessarily. I haven't been frozen so I don't know what triggers it or if it's been fixed, but I know several people who were frozen in the mass hackings/freezings in the past few years have said that instead of the 'this account has been frozen for...' screen they are just being told their PW is incorrect when they try to log in. Most didn't even realize they were frozen until they tried to look at their ULs. Maybe TNT started handling 'frozen for protection' accounts differently than 'frozen because you deserved it' accounts? I'm not sure though. Regardless, best of luck getting your account back, Azusa :c

I mean, disabling custom layouts would be easier than chasing exploits and cleaning up afterwards, but at least they're doing something about it. (It's 2016, we don't need banners from personality quizzes made 12 years ago cluttering up our shops anymore. -_-)
