OH MY GOSH. THE BANNER IS PERFECT. Love square... BUT IT'S LITERALLY THE SAME TWO PEOPLE. Is it considered a square? IT CAN BE SIMPLIFIED INTO A LINE. Q.Q And um... um... WHO, ME? COSPLAYING LADYBUG? WHY I WOULD NEVER COSPLA- Ah, who am I kidding. My friend is very persuasive. So even though I took a lot of pictures, the ones that literally almost everyone else in the convention took are way better, and fortunately they have uploaded them to all of the social media sites that neither my friend and I have an account with, soooo... I'm going to use theirs. LOL! I am da Ladyburg, my best friend is Chat Noir, and yes, she is totally okay with this, especially since there are tons of untagged photos of us on the web. LOL! FISTBUMP POSE. We found a bunch of ladybug cosplayers the next day. Upon seeing the Adrien I of course pretended to freak out and hide. The Adrien then proceeded to present a rose, as per Adrien with Ladybug. XD And a bonus: HERE'S HOPING THE PICTURES AREN'T MASSIVE. Q.Q Also, today's episode discussion question under spoiler: While he was turned into a reflector copy, was Adrien more like Chat Noir or more like Adrien? 'Cause Marinette was talking about how his sense of humor was off, but when he was turned back to normal he was in his chat costume.

I went on a sort of journey today. I saw Liou 's original post in Mini-Comments, searched online with phrases like "animated show kids turning into animals" and "blonde boy turning into cat," finally just pasted Dju's profile image into the search bar, found the show's title, and then proceeded to binge watch the entire first season on YouTube. And now I'm here. I don't know if I'd call myself a fan yet seeing as I did just discover this and watch it all today, but you could call me... intrigued? There's a lot with this show that really isn't my thing, but there are other things that I do really like about it. A lot of the villains and their powers are extremely ingenious (thinking about The Mime and Lady WiFi just off the top of my head), and OH MY GOSH I will watch this show just for the whole Marinette/Adrian/Ladybug/Cat Noir interactions XD I'm not too hung up with Adrian's reaction if he finds out Ladybug's secret identity as I'm sure he'll stick by his feelings, but I am dying to see Marinette discover that her crush is also her annoying teammate. I honestly don't know if she'd love Adrian as Cat Noir or if she'd drop her feelings X3 Also, Plagg is my favorite thing, I want to marry that cat sprite thing. Usually I don't care for the monster-a-week formula due to tediousness, but this show manages to keep it fairly interesting. Again, though, it has its share of things I don't care for, such as Chloe's character or Cat Noir's "slick guy" routine around Ladybug (Are those actually Adrian's true colors? If so, Marinette is in for quite a suprise X3) I have a feeling I'm not going to just forget this show, though. I don't know if I see it more as a legitimately good show, but rather a silly one that I can enjoy and relax with; but hey, I have nothing wrong with that. At the very least, I'll be keeping an eye out for the upcoming episodes and seasons

I dun care about Mari/Ladybug or Adrien/Chat Noir Alya is clearly the best character in the show. I mean LOOK AT HER CHARISMA Also, with this show I can finally be one of these jerks who are like "THE ORIGINAL IS BETTER THAN THE DUB! In fact, unlike most of you plebs, I can watch the show without subs bro."

Alya is pretty great X) Though, with the first few episodes that I actually found in English, her and Noni's "off the chain"s and "sick"s were starting to become grating XD
Speaking of which, though, for most of the episodes I could only find the French versions, so I didn't really have a choice with the whole subs vs dubs thing. Not that I mind, but by the end of it I was thinking, "If I'm not fluent in French by this last episode..."

I haven't watched the English dub yet. Besides, the English dub is owned by Viacom, and some of it's probably available at Nick.com. It's not like Miraculous really has such complex plot or dialogue to make subs detrimental to viewing anyway. usually subs are a paaaain when you're trying to follow mulitple things at once, not so much when it's a fluffy fluff show.

Again, though, it has its share of things I don't care for, such as Chloe's character or Cat Noir's "slick guy" routine around Ladybug (Are those actually Adrian's true colors? If so, Marinette is in for quite a suprise X3) At first, I wasn't too big of a fan either. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the first episode when I first watched it in Korean (the first six or so episodes first came out in Korea, then it switched to French releases, which is why the subs are weird XD), cause their voices were so squeaky and fast and everything was going like 5000 miles an hour and I was like "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON BUT THIS IS AMAZINGGGG." But I wasn't like, super into watching the next episode or anything. But as time went on, I appreciated the show more. I mean, yeah, they're very stereotypical middle-grade-ish superheroes, but the producer of the show really did a freaking fantastic job on Adrien/Chat Noir. It was originally suppose to be an anime, and there was so much hype about it, but Adrien was originally this character named "Felix" and he was super cold-hearted and closed-off to everyone, including Marinette, and he would reject her every time Marinette tried to do something nice for him. But of course, as Chat Noir, he fell in love with Ladybug and acted like a puppy around her... Sound familiar? Very stereotypical Japanese male lead, right? Super jerk-like, but good-looking so that's all that matters, right? The producer completed shredded Felix and pretended like he never existed. When a fan once asked if it was okay to do NSFW art of the two characters, he basically said (rephrased from memory, not actual quote LOL!), "I don't care in the slightest what kind of fan art you guys do, because creative license is a thing and my country just got bombed, so I'm kind of worried about other things. But the one thing that bothers me is when people make Adrien/Chat Noir do very aggressive things like pinning Marinette to a wall or grabbing her out of the blue. I wanted Adrien/Chat Noir to be a gentleman, as young boys should be, but it makes me sad that I didn't seem to give off that impression." And it made me look at the show differently because by the gods yes, Adrien is actually a really good role model for young guys because even though his family life kind of sucks, he doesn't let it bother him or make him take it out on others, as some kids might. And Marinette isn't perfect, but she is a good female lead, too. Anyway, I'll stop my expose here. LOL! But TL;DR: welcome to the show's fandom, Twillie! In fact, unlike most of you plebs, I can watch the show without subs bro." Alya is bae. I totes agree. Sometimes I get annoyed with Marinette, but Alya I cannot find fault with, even when she turned into Lady Wifi (WEEFEE!). But three-year-olds totes love Ladyburg. This one adorable little three-year-old at the convention kept looking for me but would be too shy to approach me. LOL!

Yaaaay! Glad you liked the banner, Zoey! I wanted to add a “NTWF’s” on top of miraculous, but things just got too crowded. XD AND AAAH AWESOME COSPLAY PICTURES! You make a PERFECT Ladybug! And everyone looks so great and they seem to be having so much fun! I love it! Oh boy, I haven’t watched yesterday’s episode yet. As a matter of fact, I’m still behind schedule due to poor internet connection. But hopefully I’ll be able to fix that today! Welcome to the Miraculous universe, Twillie! I really hope you get into the show, it will so much fun! Should I add you in the members now or would like to wait a little bit? *u* When it comes to the show, there are three things that really get me hooked on it: how well everything is designed and animated, creativity and the love-square/line angst, hahaha! XD The interactions between Adrian and Marinette are really, really priceless. But is it just me, or Marinette is progressing? I hope so! By the time I got to the “Kung Food” episode, she seems to be a lot more comfortable around Adrian. Yay, character growth! Oh, Adrian! Let’s talk some Adrian. XuX I agree with Zoey on what a great character he turned out to be – I used to think that as Adrian was so uninteresting, but he really turns it around as Cat Noir. Like you guys pointed out, this doule-life thing raises some questions – is this how he really is? Or is he being affected by Plagg in his system? XD Or maybe he forces upon himself to be slick because he thinks his chances of getting to Ladybug are higher that way? Maybe the mask makes him overly-confident? This guy is layered. He turned out to be my favorite. Just. Can’t. Fight. It. I don’t think he’d change his feelings for Marinette if he’d find out who she is. I believe Adrian is noticing more how much like Ladybug she is: he can see how she’s caring and responsible and brave around her colleagues. But if it was the other way around and Marinette found out Cat Noir – uh…that gets...complicated. X__X Marinette’s affections for Adrian are so…hum, platonic? She doesn’t really know him. And hopefully when the masks fall (really looking forward to this), it won’t be platonic any longer – it’ll be real! She’ll realize he’s brave and caring just like her and and and and they’ll ride off together into the sunset and fight off crime! *u* Or she’ll just lose interest and hang out with the Evillustrator. .__. Gosh I hope not. I liked the Evillustrator, though. That guy was sweet.

How dare you start cool things when I'm not even in the house yet? Ooh thanks for the banner, Dju ! Zoey that's amazing! I had no idea the fandom was so big already. I got into this show... I don't remember how long ago. It exceeds the expectations I'd normally have for a monster-of-the-week-patterned, kid-audience-targeted show. Alya is clearly the best character in the show. I do not pick favourites easily but I am very tempted to agree, Alya is brilliant! Also, with this show I can finally be one of these jerks who are like "THE ORIGINAL IS BETTER THAN THE DUB! In fact, unlike most of you plebs, I can watch the show without subs bro." *flips hair* Except for moi, because I kind of live in France, ohohohoho. That's right. I watch all the original episodes on the TFou site, super quality super legit. Gone are the days when I'd go to nickelodeon website or whatever other official TV site and get a snooty message saying "NO, you're from a country we don't like so you can't have the free video!!1!" MY REVENGE HAS COME AT LAST! A lot of the villains and their powers are extremely ingenious (thinking about The Mime and Lady WiFi just off the top of my head) Yeees, the Mime was sooo good!!! And when Puppeteer suddenly zapped Alya back into Lady Wifi and made her act like a spoiled brat, that was hilarious. The weekly villains don't always seem to get more difficult as the series progresses. Sometimes they'll have a pretty awesome fight scene, and suddenly the next episode will be less challenging. I'd call the latest episode more of a filler villain, not quite as challenging as Mime, Rogercop or the Puppeteer. (Puppeteer was obnoxious, but what an amazing final fight.) But hey, every single student in their class must have their turn! When a fan once asked if it was okay to do NSFW art of the two characters (o.o; I think it might be important to mention that they're in middle school and no older than 15.) I'm liking Marinette and Adrien's development so far, a lot is still unsaid but they seem complex enough, and they both reveal very different sides of their personality when they switch to hero mode. Speaking of Adrien's behaviour as Chat Noir, remember Adrien's personal/family life? I'm pretty sure he overdoes it as CN, as compensation. (Chloe might seem too over-the-top, but, sadly, she's not that far from the truth...) Marinette is probably still my favourite. Endearing, flawed enough, plenty of qualities waiting to come out, takes responsibility for her mistakes... Adrien may be the pretty boy but hey, she's the hero of the show. (I don't like how google shows me Adrien before Marinette. s( )z Where's your googallantry?)

Zoey I’ve actually seen that anime version before, and I remember reading up about Felix’s scrapped character. I’m not that familiar with Japanese anime or tropes, but even without knowing the cliche, he still sounds a bit jerkish or tiring X) By comparison, I would say that Adrien is an improvement, and he’s probably actually one of my favorite characters ( not a bias because he’s a cat, of course). Him and Cat Noir I sort of keep separate just due to differences in their behavior, but to be honest, it's sort of hard to compare because I don’t think we get enough of normal Adrien. There were one or two episodes that focused on his family life, but most of the time when he’s normal, he’s not the one talking. It’s the other people around him that interact, and he says one or two things or models for a picture. I’d love to see more of him because I want to get a more rounded perspective on his character, to see just how different or alike he and Cat Noir really are. But when he’s Cat Noir, while I can understand taking advantage of the free reign it gives him, I still don’t much care for how he tries to flirt with Ladybug. I dunno, I don’t think that style of persisting when the other person constantly says no is really effective or charming, and I feel like sometimes people think that's how guys should flirt, like they need to conceal any sensitivity. I dunno, I just think at least a little more sincerity from him would be appreciated X3 Dju Eh, why not? Go ahead and put me :3 I was actually wondering the same thing, too! As Cat Noir, is that Adrien just letting go of his normal social restrictions, or is Plagg somehow affecting his personality? I tried comparing Marinette and Ladybug’s behavior to see if there were any differences as well, and while nothing too significant popped out, I noticed that Ladybug did seem a tad more confident. At least, Marinette usually struggles with public speaking, whereas the moment Ladybug comes out she’s ready to give out orders and comfort the civilians. It’s subtle, and it could also be that Marinette as well doesn’t need to impress anyone as Ladybug and has greater freedom with her enhanced physicality. I’m starting to lean more towards that it’s Adrien just letting go, but that’d be a cool idea if their Kwamis affected them like that. That’s true; Marinette’s crush on Adrien is more like puppy love, whereas Adrien has spent plenty of time with Ladybug and has developed deep feelings for her. However, I think that might be turning around as Marinette and Adrien have been spending more time together. It's like you pointed out in "Kung Food" when she seems to be more comfortable around him; so it’s slowly coming along, but Marinette is probably starting see better into Adrien’s personal life, so perhaps soon she can get to know him on a deeper level. The show is flashing back to me in snippets, but I’m thinking specifically about when Marinette and Adrien were playing videogames together, and when it was parent show-and-tell day and Marinette gave Adrien a sincere, sympathetic look when his dad didn’t show. Also, hopefully this means that if Marinette can learn more about Adrien and better appreciate and understand him, his secret won't be as hard a pill to swallow if she ever finds out. Let's just see if she's given enough prep time before that happens XD
Liou Yeah, it is a bit surprising how many people here already know about the show. I just heard about it yesterday, and I find out that half the people I talk to here have already watched it and cosplayed it and who knows what else XD
Now I'm wondering if any RL friends of mine have heard of it. How did you all first discover this show?
Eh, I'm not gonna lie and say there aren't any mean girls in high school, but I don't think I've ever met anyone that resembles Chloe in real life. To me, she's sort of just that cliche rich daddy's girl/bully, which I find are inserted into a lot of kid's programming. As much as I love Gravity Falls, I won't hesitate on calling it out for doing the same thing with Pacifica Northwest, who I also did not originally care to see. However, "Northwest Mansion Mystery" really turned her character around and gave her a reason why she acted like she did, so it shows that these characters don't have to be one-dimensional. There's yet to be anything really sympathetic revealed about Chloe, though, and I don't see any reason for her to act like she does other than "she's a brat." And that's just not convincing enough for me. I mean, there are mean people out there, but Chloe is just cruel XD Also, probably a smaller thing, but I don't like rich jokes. Not just with this show specifically, but in general XD Even "Northwest Mansion Mystery" with its opening lines about the utensil placement and dress colors I am not a fan of X3 They're all the same: "Expensive thing? No! Even more expensive thing!"

XD "I want a rematch, you walking one-dimensional bleach blonde valley girl stereotype!" Then of course, character development happened. I hope Chloe gets some character development, because right now she's just a really boring, flat character.

Everyone ready for a new episode? 8D (This is not a gif hidden for convenience, there are actual new episode spoilers in this box.) Aaah, "Rock'n'Roll!" people who don't actually listen to rock'n'roll do love to shout this, don't they Jagged had to get his turn eventually. (His french VA gives him a lovely stereotypical American accent, in case you hadn't heard the original.) I'm wondering where to place this episode continuity-wise. Guitar Villain (which sounds hilarious when pronounced in french) was not the most difficult villain-of-the-week on his own, maybe because the impact he had on the innocent civilians didn't seem so harmful, but he wasn't small fry either, and the dragon (DRAGON!!!!!!! 8D) added to the challenge.
(What a beautiful cartoon world it is when superstars interact with middle schoolers and casually offer them great opportunities for design work.)
Is it me or did Papillon's brief "I'll get you my pretty, and your little cat too!" speech at the end have brand new footage this time? It seemed longer. Maybe he'll finally start to move his rear a bit more! =o
'Ship-wise, I'm a bit confused, because Marinette was back to stammering around Adrien, which I thought she'd stopped doing a few episodes ago but I guess not, then... bizarre twist, around the end he's the one who gets flustered around her! For artistic reasons, but still a fun parallel. I'd find it interesting if Adrien's feelings for Ladybug slowly evolved into a more partner-admiration thing rather than romantic, while he gets more and more interested in Marinette. Or he could also fall for both of them at the same time and have a nice little self-made triangle. I'd applaud if Marinette/Adrien started dating as their civilian selves and still didn't know each other's hero identities, in perfect cartoon logic.
And of course, LADYBUG RIDING A DRAGON PLZ, I MEAN LIKE LADYBUG RIDING A DRAGON, YOU KNOW??? Comments I forgot to make earlier: that cartoon city is so pretty, clean, un-crowded, and the weather so nice, that if they didn't keep mentioning Paris and shoving the various monuments in our faces, I would never have realised that it's supposed to be Paris. x3 And I really love how Ladybug's finishing move/magical girl name-calling attack actually relies on ingenuity.

Put me down for another fan.
I've been watching the English dub which means I've been unfortunately spoiled for later events because nobody ever thinks about those of us who are only following one version of the show instead of multiples ones.I'm also really annoyed that they switched the airing time from Noon to 7PM because now I have to wait even longer for new episodes, even if it's only by a few hours.
If we're discussing favorite characters I have to give that spot to Chloe. She's just so petty and needlessly cruel and I love it. Seeing her play off the other characters and get the occasional backlash is entertaining and the fact that she's childhood friends with Adrian and that she seems to consider the rest of the class her friends and vice versa shows that she has to have some positive qualities even if we haven't seen them yet which is itself interesting. I love that even though we haven't seen her other layers that they're clearly there and I hope the show expands on that in time.
As long as she stays cruel. I like her that way and even if she does get some development I wouldn't want that aspect of her to be done away with completely.
