Thanks a lot Killix ! I can now comment on episodes 21, 22, 25 and 26. I thiiink those were all the available episodes I had left to watch? The absence of 23 and 24 bugs me a lot, it's so messyyy. But 21 was clearly meant to be before 20, anyway, and many of the other episodes seem out of order, and the end is actually the beginning, and... My continuity hurts. Anyway. Spoilers (not gifs) ahoy. Episode 21(?) - Numerik/Pixelator(?) In which Ladybug displays incredible dodging skills because those attacks are rapid-fire. In which Adrien displays incredible patience towards Chloe.
This seems to be meant as Jagged Stone's first chronological appearance in the show. I actually found him sweet. Spoiled star who gets a healthy dose of humility during the episode, and adorable cuddly crocodile-daddy. One of my favourite minor characters.
Good to see that Papillon has ways to hurt his minions into submission. (If he's already done that in an earlier episode, I've forgotten since >.>; )
Oooh was that Mireille(from Stormy Weather) trapped with Theo(from Copycat)? Nice little minor 'ship.
Wooooah Chat Noir smashed right through that virtual space. O.O
That was quite a tough battle, with CN out for most of the time and Ladybug... well, it cost her an arm and a leg. *badum-tss* (When she had to type with her face. xD) That compact mirror toss. I'm guessing that even though Ladybug uses her creativity, the Lucky Charm item is still full to the brim with luck. Episode 22(?) - Jackady/Simon Says(?) Aaah. Papillon finally has something more... complicated going on in this episode. :3 And he becomes even less subtle, I didn't think it was possible. *sigh*
Aaww that poor hypnotist, he seems like such a sweet guy. Notice how Papillon tells the Akuma to "darken his heart" (don't know what the dub might say) and the Akuma flies into the hypnotist's ace of hearts. Nice nice. Yay, the gorilla bodyguard finally gets sort-of-transformed into a gorilla! It was too tempting, it had to happen.
I do love how Adrien mentions that his father keeps him in a... cocoon. Did you hear Gabriel say that Adrien had had enough emotions for the day, right before sending him to his room? Like his son has an imposed emotion quota or something. x3 Gabriel sounded surprisingly affectionate when telling Ladybug about Adrien. And his SHOCKING hug at the end was not even a Voldemort-style hug! And then Ad gets incredibly protective of papa. ;o;
AHAHAHAH that shower scene I can't *slaps thigh* Amazing.
Aaawww Adrien's desktop mom-picture. ... Ladybug's smile reminds him of his mom's? Erm. That. Puts a whole new perspective on. Erm. Wat. Theories about Adrien's mother, anyone? 83
Oh snap Gabriel finally noticed the ring. Oh no oh no oh no. EVEN -PLAGG- LOOKED WORRIED OH NOOOOOOOO.
I love how the transformation sequences are so short and no-nonsense that I don't even mind having more than one per episode. Episodes 25-26 - Origins/Stone Heart It's easier to comment on both together.
Yep, I had seen the pink and green kwami in the opening credits, nice to properly meet them. Cutiiies. I do love those historic Ladybug-through-the-ages images. x3 Master Fu is a total bae, very smooth, still got it, all right! He was spotted in the background of a few other episodes, keep an eye out for his beautiful shirt.
Marinette slowly, oh so slowly gaining confidence and the faith of people around her, that was simply beautiful. That moment when Alya's trapped behind the car and Marinette just snaps ;______;
Adrien gradually falling for Ladybug. That was interesting, and his feelings make more sense to me now. Adrien was so eager to become a different person and get out of his prison-home. ;_;
Yay for Plagg getting so many lines! Seriously that's the most I've heard him speak and it was fascinating, his recruitment technique was very different from Tikki's. I think his chill attitude is actually perfect for Adrien. The boy is so used to being ordered around and kept inactive, but now he gets a more passive companion who gives him enough room to make his own decisions. Plagg is probably much wiser than he lets on. And because I haven't mentioned her yet, Tikki only gives a bit of advice at a time so as not to overwhelm Marinette, but she seems incredibly wise in her way, too. Very good at handling her human.
Oh goodness, Alya was even more amazing in her very first chronological appearance!!! So amazing I could weep. Alya be my friend pleeeaase. Mylène/Ivan!!! I actually ship these two more than Alya/Nino. They're both so sweet individually and even more so together. My favourites among Marinette's classmates.
Ah. So that's what happens if you don't capture the Akuma. Ha. Hahaha. Ohdear.
OK the Miraculous definitely enhances Marinette's balance A LOT because she went from awkwardly yo-yo-ing across the street to perching at the tippy top of the Eiffel Tower and then jumping down to rescue her classmates. She's already confident enough to give Papillon a public tongue-lashing?! Wow, that was quite a burst of heroic speech. How did she know about Papillon's Miraculous? Did Tikki tell Marinette beforehand, but keep it a surprise for us viewers? Oh, and knowing that Ladybug has power over the force of creation in general, her power to fix everything at the end of the episode makes a little bit more sense.
That umbrella scene made me laugh out loud, it was so funny. (That's right, too cheesy for me to enjoy it as romance, but the end was simply hilarious.) I really appreciate how Marinette didn't fall for Adrien straight away due to his prettiness. She only fell for him after he showed her some kindness. After watching the origins, more thoughts about Adrien's flirty behaviour as Chat Noir: before going to school, he was isolated. After seeing the Conveniently Placed Family Portraits with the Conspicuously Missing Mother Figure, I'm guessing that this is one of those families in which the dad becomes a different person after the mum disappears. So Adrien would have been isolated at least since then. Who did he have for company? Chloe, perhaps some people similar to Chloe if his father let him mingle with the rest of the upper crust, and the TV in his room. With those role models, I'm glad he isn't worse. x3 Oh, and back when we were talking about Totally Spies, I forgot to mention that Chloe is basically Mandy. Imagine a crossover with the two of them meeting. I think that's all for now. Wheee.

I have some feelings about the episodes, I don't think I have commented yet? Other than to say that I love the show. I feel like the suits make their inner feelings more exposed? (I'm not sure how to say this). Have you seen The Mask with Jim Carrey? When he puts the mask on, it makes him act the way he wants to secretly inside. I feel like the suit maybe has the same power? For example Marinette becomes very confident and elegant, unlike when she is very clumsy in real life. And Adrien becomes very flirty as Chat Noir, but he is hidden away by his father for so long he hasn't really had friends and know how to be around people. This is just my thoughts. I am a bit silly as I had no idea who Papillon was, and when I saw the Origins I finally realised. Also in Jackady it was a lot more obvious. I am a bit slow with this. xD I think it will be interesting when someone finds out. I feel like it will be Marinette/Ladybug and she will tell Chat Noir and it may cause some tension between them for the first time (not good tension like we normally like!) and perhaps it will be hard for him to cover his feelings, so Ladybug may become suspicious that he is Adrien? Because he will be defending Mr Agreste quite a lot.
I have a gif for you all. I do love Chat Noir. I ordered the dvd but there is no release date yet. I hope it is soon but I guess it will be when all the episodes have been aired?

I do love how our club keeps growing and growing! <3 It’s so adorable! I just finished watching episode 22 and THE SHOWER. HAHAHA. That was probably one of the funniest scenes in the entire season, seriously. I suppose it’s safe to assume everyone here was hoping for some Adrien/Ladybug interaction and this episode delivered it perfectly. It was just plain cute watching them both stutter and acting lovesick while the world fell apart around them, which really made up for the Evillistrutator’s Chat Noir/Marinette mimic. I do love that episode as well, but it’s so painful to watch soul mates acting completely and genuinely uninterested in each other. XD Agh, the angst huuurts (but I love it). Gabriel was just plain awesome to watch – to see the bad guy take matters into his own hands was refreshing and ingenious. Hawk Moth is no longer the guy that hides in butterfly infested attic: he’s got brains! Dangerous brains, and he’ll use it! And he’s got a heart, too! Like Zoey said, he does care about Adrien – as a matter of fact, he cares so much he turned himself into a bad guy to get his mother back. The way he said to Cat Noir that he reminded him of someone (a.k.a deceased wife) and then turned to his wife’s portrait was just really sweet. And risky! I find it surprising that Hawk moth hasn’t figured it out yet. I mean, first the security system, then the temper and then the ring…so many red flags. Just like Twillie, I really can’t wait to watch the masks fall. It’s going to be so epic. I hope Gabriel finds redemption in the end. That’d be so very sweet. ^u^ Hey, speaking of his wife’s portrait, did anyone else have the impression that the door to Hawk Moth’s hideout is right behind it…? No? Just a thought. XD OH. Another thought: Whaaaat if Gabriel’s wife had a kwami? What if like, she and Hawk Moth were Paris’ superheroes and then something really bad happened that killed her and and and Hawk Moth went bad? And now Adrian and Marinette are the next generation? Am I making any sense? @amelie I LOVE THAT GIFT. I seriously, seriously need to do some fanart for this show. I neeeeeeed it.

Dju Haha, your Evillustrator comment actually reminded me of a fanart piece I found on Pinterest not too long ago: (belongs to Yasmine Klein, I believe, originally on Tumblr) After the Jack Says episode, I don't quite know how to feel about Gabriel's actions; was that hug entirely sincere? Was him getting captured part of any plan, or did he actually lose control of that Akuma? I don't know where his motivations were in that episode, but I can't help but still feel a little sympathy as he seemed to really care about Adrien. Also, when he and Ladybug were looking at pictures of Adrien and he said, "Isn't he perfect?" I just went AWWW DX inside. I-I don't know, but it was still cute XP The origin episode seemed to suggest that Hawk Moth took his Kwami by force, so I doubt that Gabriel and his wife had them together before, but I have heard theories before that Adrien's mother had a Kwami, perhaps even the Cat Noir one. I'm not sure if that's true since Paris didn't seem to recognize Cat Noir or Ladybug when Adrien and Marinette got them, but who knows

Jackaddy has some explaining to do. So like everyone and their Grandma can spot the hints that Gabriel is Hawkmoth, but...
From what we've seen already, the Agreste mansion is pretty much right in front of the Eiffel tower. The view from Hawkmoth's lair window shows the Eiffel tower faaaar off in the distance. If Gabriel is Hawkmoth, how'd he move all the way across Paris in seconds? It was literally... Gabriel talking to Cat Noir and then poof, scene change to Hawkmoth in his lair.
Even if there were a secret door or hidden tunnel or something linking the two places, he'd have to run as fast as the Flash to make that trip. Or have a Portal gun. Or a Star Trek teleporter. All of those options are pretty unlikely. XD

I saw the new episode! For anyone watching with subs, it's on YouTube now if you search for it. Princess Fragrance: It was nice to see Marinette with more confidence in this episode, as she did a lot without even being Ladybug. Tikki being sick was really sad. Poor Tikki! But it was great to see the old man again! I feel like the series is really coming together. I want to know more about him and what he was like with his Kwami as he was younger. Only one episode left. This makes me sad. But hopefully the dvds will get released soon.

Apparently the season finale (episode 24, wat) is out! I couldn't find any English subs/dubs, so I embraced the French and tried to understand what was happening XD Although I didn't gather everything, I can still share a few thoughts/spoilers o' mine (and I do mean SPOILERS, so beware): Gabriel is obviously Hawkmoth, but now it looks like Adrien is onto him and is ready to do some investigating.
Adrien's mother I'm pretty sure had the peacock miraculous, hence why Gabriel now owns it and why her mosaic is peacock-themed.
I don't know if Marinette or Tikki are suspicious of Adrien owning a miraculous, but hey looks like they're going to get some answers! I can just feel the reveals coming, I hope they're close DX
But it seems like all three of their identities are starting to unravel; there were a lot of close calls in this episode and in some more recent ones, and it's only a matter of time before they find out or someone else (that old man) tells them.
There might be better answers once the English translation comes out, but I'm wondering if that's the real Vulpina at all. I don't know how she got that necklace, if it's a miraculous she stumbled upon or if she's just a fan of Ladybug and pretends it's a miraculous for her fan persona. She seemed rather curious with Adrien's book like she already had some idea of the miraculouses, but I'm not sure.
Also, cute stuff with shower scene, take two. My only concern after "When are the English subs coming??" is "When is season two coming??" DX

I got my wish! The old man came back. So many questions! Season 2 needs to be soon. I think it pretty much agrees Mr Agreste is Papillion, although they may surprise us and we find that he's not? I'm wondering maybe if Adrien's mother had a miraculous and maybe she told her husband about it and that's why he is so interested in them? I'm just running ideas now. XD The tension between Chat Noir and Ladybug is crazy now. I want something to happen soon. <3 Also the new girl needs to go. I hate new characters when they are introduced. XD

It's tiiime to ramble! ^_^; @amelie Oooh interesting comparison with the Mask!
As for finding out about Papillon's identity, I feel like Adrien will find out before Marinette. Gabriel will be aware of Chat Noir's identity as well, and try to get him on his side and betray Ladybug. Daddy or bae? What a delicious dilemma. Hawk Moth is no longer the guy that hides in butterfly infested attic You could say he's got... butterflies in his belfry. \o/ Was him getting captured part of any plan, or did he actually lose control of that Akuma? I'm also wondering how much control Papillon had over Jackady in this one. *scratches head* The plan seemed risky but all the more fun for it. Killix I had to go back and watch it again because I was wondering, what view from Papillon/Hawkmoth's lair window? It's all blurry in that little opening when it flies out. I guess you meant the next shot of the Akuma fluttering across a Generic Paris Background, which is the same every time. But that one comes after Papillon is done mwahaha-ing, iirc, and after the Akuma has left the lair. So I'm guessing it's just a generic transition as the beastie travels to wherever its target is. Still, that Akuma seems to have no idea where it's going. It badly needs a GPS. Episode 23 - Princesse Fragrance Rose at last! Eeee I love her villain form, she's so adorbz without being too kawaii! 10/10, would gladly become her mindless singing minion.
So many feels between Marinette and Tikki ;___; When she finds her in the crashed car ;________; Ladybug's transformation sequence has never been more satisfying. And Marinette makes the right decision by refusing to follow Tikki's advice, for once.
Alya notices Adrien being constantly late just like Marinette. Marinette knows her late-ness is due to superhero stuff. But of course nobody expects our sweet little airhead to put two and two together, right. Nice going with Chekhov's fireworks. Lol at that doorman. "Nice try, but Miss Chloe has no friends 8I" Gotta love Chat Noir giving the prince a "safety helmet". This is the second (unless I forgot one?) time Ladybug has battled a mind-controlled Chat Noir. Very fun. And impressive, she knew exactly how to handle him and use his weapon against him. Though I guess he wasn't using the best of his abilities.
Bonus points for Master Fu. ("What kind of cat is it, again?" xD) Bonus points for mind-controlled Chat Noir singing at Ladybug. *snickers* Oh, and the singing version of *deeper voice* "Caaataclyyyysme" xDD OK, extra bonus points for Chat Noir licking himself after getting out of the river. No I am not wiping tears of laughter. Episode 24 Now that's a season finale. Well well. Everyone who thought Chloe was too flat, you now have a more interesting mean rival girl! You happy with her? No takesies backsies! =D I was hoping she'd be a Villain-of-the-Week, but it looks like she'll definitely be staying for Season 2. Tikki: "Marinette don't you think you're being a bit jealous )" "WELL TIKKI, over the past 60 seconds to be exact, I have been given every reason I should need to be envious of this girl, from minor characters gossiping about her brilliant life oh-so-conveniently within my earshot, to my own best friend acting OOC when she should be freaking out and making plans for me to go and defend my love interest, and even the Jerk Sue literally laying a finger on my love interest right where I can conveniently see them! All that in 60 well-planned seconds, Tikki, remember! You're a cool Kwami but please drop the rhetorical questions and get yourself some Genre Savviness 8D" 'Nuff said. Despite her jerk presentation, I like Lila's design. Sorry Marinette, she's really pretty! ;_; I like Volpina's design and powers too! Especially the flute staff - though I'm really disappointed that no one said "C'est du pipeau" about her powers. What a wasted pun. >_> I was glad that Lila's Miraculous wasn't legit, because you can't barge in and be a jerk rival and have useful backstory significance. However, the Big Book of Miraculouses did have a picture that looks exactly like her pendant! When Lila noticed that picture in the book, do you think she recognised it? Or that she took inspiration from it, for what she'd tell Adrien later on? Checking the orange Miraculous in the Big Box, the lower half of it actually looks like Lila's pendant. There's another squiggly shape, though. Maybe Lila only has part of it. Maybe her grandmother really had the full Miraculous, was a legit superhero, and gave it to her without having time to teach her about it. Lila certainly never had any powers to use before getting Akumatised, though. People have been speculating that Volpina would have one of the Miraculouses ever since her teaser sketch was posted. When you have two superhero gals fighting over you in your own bedroom. Congratulations, Adrien. How is he not noticing that Ladybug is super protective of his civilian identity? Ah, typical cartoon romance oblivious-ness for you. The Peacock Miraculous, yes, Twillie ! Good to know where it is. Don't know if the Mama actually used it, but it was like, right in front of her portrait... Not subtle. If she wasn't a Miraculous user, she must at least have played a part in the search for all those items in the safe. It makes sense for Papillon (Papa-illon :'D) to be hoarding at least one more Miraculous. (Oh good, now I'm starting to compare the Miraculouses with the pearls from Mermaid Melody.) (Miraculouses. Preciouses. I will never be able to say Miraculouses without Gollum-voice.) Still on the season finale, Plagg gets a whole paragraph to himself. Interesting how Plagg casually opened the safe with powers of his own. I found his behaviour very intriguing in this episode. As soon as Tikki finds the book, she takes Marinette to Master Fu, deciding that it's time for her to learn more about the secrets of Miraculouses. Meaning she thinks Marinette can be trusted with that information.
Plagg, however, shuts up as soon as he notices the picture of Antique-Ninja-Chat Noir inside the book, and moans that he's hungry, when he was the one begging to explore the safe in the first place. I'm sure he knows exactly what the book is about. * Theory 1: Plagg is a rather chaotic, trickster-type spirit, true to his lazy nature. If Adrien learned more about the other Miraculouses, he might meet Master Fu, and maybe other Miraculous possessors. Perhaps Plagg wants to stay away from the other Kwami, keep his independence. Buuut I prefer the next one: * Theory 2: Plagg is well aware of Papillon's identity. Plagg knows Adrien is that man's son. He knows that the book contains knowledge of incredible powers that have driven Papillon villain-crazy in his search for them, while oppressing his own Kwami. Even though Plagg is Adrien's partner, maybe he's being cautious, too. There might be a reason why Adrien was matched with the powers of destruction. Season 2 speculation time! Questions: are Marinette and Adrien immune to Akumatisation? Would that change if they were separated from their Miraculouses?
Lila seems to be sticking around. We'll see what Papillon will do with her. It'll be interesting if she interacts with the protagonists both in civilian form and in super form. Chloe despises Marinette but worships Ladybug, so I'd be amused if it was the opposite for Lila: she hates Ladybug, but maybe she'll start liking Marinette at school? I mean Marinette doesn't like her and there's the whole thing with Adrien, but civilian!Marinette tends to smile and stammer and be nice to everyone anyway.
People I'd like to see Akumatised: Marinette's parents, Alya's mom perhaps, Nathalie (wouldn't that be fun =D), Nadja Chamack, Alec (the TV host dude), Mademoiselle Bustier - because what's scarier than a rampaging teacher -, the chemistry teacher as well, Principal Damocles, and Monsieur le Maire at last. I'd like to applaud Papillon's voice actor, who does not get chipmunk'd when I speed up the video to catch something, because his voice is just that deep and villainous. Impressive.

Still, that Akuma seems to have no idea where it's going. It badly needs a GPS. Yep, the scene where the akuma flutters out the window of Hawkmoth's lair, then we see it flying out over Paris. This scene is reused across all episodes (just like the transformation sequences are, to save money). The most important thing is that it's depicting the akuma flying out from Hawkmoth's lair window, and the Eiffel tower is in view. It gives us a pretty good idea of where the lair is in comparison to other buildings! There are no "generic" Paris backgrounds in Miraculous. The animators are very precise about how they show the city and its layout! Everything is consistent. The Eiffel Tower is a very important landmark to Paris, they certainly would make sure it's in the right spot at all times. (especially with a sequence they're going to be reusing a lot XD) Compare to the Agreste mansion: Tower is directly behind the building! *shrug* Hawkmoth could have teleportation powers just like Volpina's illusion did, but who knows. 8D

HAHAHAHA oh man. I watched episode 23 and 24 on a single shot, so I guess I’ll have to review them in one shot as well! *wink* @liouanne, you are so right! Rose’s akumatised design is certainly one of the best! If it weren’t for Volpina, I’d say she was indeed the cutest. X3 But I gotta say, the best part about the episode was not brainwashed singing Chat Noir or epic perfumed explosion over Paris. No, no – the best part was Marinette being such a Ladybug without transforming in the first place! I guess that brings some light to our previous discussion about whether or not the kwamis affect Marinette and Adrien’s personality. Marinette is a tough cookie by nature, and Adrien is…well, he’s a cat. That’s enough to make me love him. XD Regarding episode 24, I have to say I am so happy there is a fox kwami out there! I mean, IMAGINE HOW CUTE IT IS. I can’t wait until it shows up! And I wonder who will be the real Volpina? Probably Lila in the end. Her character design is too well thought out to be discarded. XD I expect Papillon will find the real miraculous and hand it over to her. Then she’ll become his partner in crime? Who knows,I can’t wait to see it! And seriously, what is up with showers and those two? JUST KISS, plz. ;-;

Alright, post-sub watching follow up: So, Adrien is NOT ready for some investigating, he's just worried about losing that book. If anything, Gabriel might be the first to look into his son's secret life because he has actual reason for suspicion.
Also, a small thing, but having been in Adrien's shoes before in losing something really important (my driver's license... for a month), I feel really bad for him now XD It stresses me out just watching him X)
Also also, another small thing, but what was with all the Tibet stuff in Gabriel's safe? There was a book on it, a travelogue... Is he planning on going there? Is that a sacred place for him and his wife? Is that where he found the miraculouses? Hmm...
I'm still a little torn after the subs, but I'm sort of leaning towards that Lila is not the real Vulpina. It's hard to see, but when she first pulls out her necklace in the park, it looks like she's taking it out of packaging, like she just bought it. It could just be what she uses to store it, but I'm not sure. My current thoughts are that she saw that Adrien is into Ladybug, wants to impress him by one upping her, and took inspiration from the book to pose as a superhero as well. She may still have some connection to the miraculouses, though; I'm not really convinced either way yet.
Liou Rewatching the episode, when Hawkmoth called Jackady's (i dunno what to call him anymore) plan "risky," I sort of wondered if it was directed completely at him, or if Hawkmoth was talking to himself as well X) I agree with Volpina's design/powers! I think the flute's music is very eerie and intimidating when put in that setting, but it's also very cool. Gave me chills the first time she played it X3 It's funny, because in Jackady, the way it was edited, I honestly thought Marinette was going to get Akumatised. Her parents ground her, she angrily goes up to her room, and then suddenly Hawkmoth's window opens like he's ready to make a villain. Just turns out he was on the lookout for anyone who would potentially get upset I doubt Adrien would get Akumatised just because of daddy reasons, but who knows, maybe Hawkmoth would take that route. There's a part of me that would love to see Marinette Akumatised, though, just to see the drama (and maybe reveal?) unfold XD

Ayo club! We seem to have run out of episodes to discuss, and it's still too early to speculate much on season 2; so in the meantime, I have a question for you all if you'd like to keep chatting:
what if you got Akumatised?
Any idea in what circumstances it might happen? What Papillon would offer you? Where the Akuma would be hidden? Your supervillain persona and powers? And of course, what kind of design your fabulous and/or tacky supervillain outfit would have!

LiouIf I got Akumized ... idk, it would probably be really lame. I would be a depressed mime with a hilariously bad American accent who just walks around ignoring Papillion (or following his instructions with no/minimal effort.) As for the circumstances ... idk, I freak out over something insignificant and Papillion mistakes it for burning hatred rather than just weird anxiety.
