Eyy, congrats again on the drawing tablet! =D And oh wow, two years of CSP to go with it? =o Reminds me of my first drawing tablet, as it came with a disc with Photoshop. Glad to hear that they're still doing that then, providing some tools to use alongside the tablet! (also CSP is a good one to go with, imo, and if you do end up wanting to stick with it, it can be on the cheaper side when sales hit :3) The piece is looking good too! I'm loving the mane, just the mix of transparencies gives it this cool depth that plays with the eyes! I'm excited to see what else you get to make with your new arsenal \o/ (Sorry for the late response, but) Thank you. ^^ I heard about tablets coming with discs with Photoshop. Oh, how we evolved with the times. I didn't know I would get free programs with this tablet, but when I heard about it, I was like, "Oh, cool!" and just rolled with it. (That's what I was thinking. CSP was the only one I heard about from the list that was provided to me, so I figured I'd go with it. And yeah, when it's on sale, it should be cheaper.) I'm glad you like the piece. It was mainly a way for me to see what I can do with the program and to test with different brushes, hence why the mane looks like it does. I'm glad it works. ^^ I am going to have so much fun with this...

Okay, so as some of you may know, I am taking part in NTWF D&D. So far, I'm having fun. I'm glad I joined in. For D&D, I had to make a character. In case nobody noticed, I like to draw. (I say as I am on page 11 of this thread.) So I drew some character drawings and I thought it'd be fun to share here. This was my first idea for my character. At the time, I was thinking of using a human monk. I didn't know what I wanted to do at the time, so I was winging it with the majority of the drawing. As I started thinking about my character, the more I was drawn to elves and rangers. I never really had an elf character and I've had human characters before, so it could be a fun thing to try out. Rangers seemed really interesting, since there were a lot of paths they can take. I liked that. And so, I came up with my official design. Presenting Anther. Elf, ranger, and quite a character. |D She isn't like any characters I've done before and I really like playing her. This was when I realized I needed to work on drawing armor. I do like what I gave her, but it was quite a process to get to what I wanted. Again, I was winging it and I came up with this and I like how it looks and it fits her. At some point, everyone was talking about fancy dinner party stuff and I thought, "Oh, it'd be fun to draw Anther in a fancy outfit." So I ended up drawing this. Yeah, she isn't a fan of fancy parties. I drew this on the day I got my drawing tablet. I thought it'd be a nice way to pass the time while some new drawing programs were being downloaded. I like how it turned out. I may want to work on the outfit more in the future, but I like this for now. And so, with all of that out of the way, I present this. I just wanted to draw her bow. It was just supposed to be her bow. |D I really like how it came out, but boy, did it take some time to get to this point. I had no idea how archery poses worked, so I looked up a ton of references and I was so confused by it all. The pose definitely needs some work, but I'm proud of how it turned out.

Just popping in to say: even if Anther doesn't like her fancy attire, I sure as heckity do! 100% my aesthetic, whoever chose it has good taste. =P I love that archery drawing too- very dynamic!

(Fair warning, it's likely I'm going to ramble.) So a friend of mine on Neopets is hosting a Flashback Week for the Beauty Contest, where the idea is to redraw one of your old drawings. I decided to join in on the fun and redraw something of my own. For the drawing, I decided to redraw this. This was my first finished drawing of the year. At the time, I was really proud of this, and I still am. I like what I did, but I just thought I could have done better. I could have done a lot better with the trees and the snow. I like the color palette, but I feel like more contrast could be added in some spaces. I'm 90% sure that fog in the background was for me hiding emptiness because I didn't want to draw so many trees. Wouldn't be the first time an artist has done that and it wouldn't be the last, but it's something I would change now. And this is what I came up with. Going into the drawing, I was wondering if it'd be very different from the original drawing. I've improved, yeah, but I didn't know if I improved enough to where the new drawing would be different enough from the original. Yeah, I think there's a noticeable difference. I think the biggest thing I learned about this year was perspective. I had that drawing class last semester and I really focused on perspective in that course, either directly, with perspective exercises, or indirectly, with still life drawings (I at least thought more of perspective during that part). That and watching various YouTube videos about art gave me an idea of how to do the background and foreground. I drew the background that's more in perspective (I doubt it's perfect, but I think it's better) and blurred out some of the things that were't meant to be in focus (like that big tree in the foreground). Redoing this, I feel like having Clip Studio Paint helped me a little bit. FireAlpaca is a great program, but I don't know if I could have done some things in it that I did here. For example, the glow in the umbrella. It wasn't what I wanted it in the original picture. I think even when I first drew it, I wasn't quite happy with it. I was messing with layer settings in CSP and landed on a setting that wasn't in FireAlpaca. That sort of effect was exactly what I wanted. Some other miscellaneous things I've noticed are different: -I feel like the posing is more natural. (I still really need to work with posing, but I think it's better than it was.) -Trees and snow actually sort of look like trees and snow. -Lighting is a lot different. I think it looks a lot more like night in the redraw. -The umbrella doesn't have those points at the bottom of the umbrella part. If my drawing professor taught me one thing, it's that circles do not have points in perspective. -General style and design changes. -I made sure there was enough contrast between nearby colors. Also, two random things to end this. One, the original drawing held my record for most visible layers in a drawing, which was 128. I don't know how many layers I used in the redraw, but it's definitely more than 128. XD And two, At some point while I was shading, I saved a work in progress of the drawing because I thought it was funny that Comet was all shaded and everything else was almost completely flat. When I put the work in progress and the finished piece right next to each other, they looked completely different. I was really entertained by that, so I'm sharing that work in progress. Work in Progress Finished It's amazing what lighting can do to a piece.

I had some Youtube videos I wanted to watch last night and they were the type that I like to have in the background while I'm doing something else. I didn't have much to do, so I started drawing and I got this. Fun fact about Anther, she's an animal lover, so I drew her with an owl.

OKAY, time for my second annual Inktober dump! Fair warning, I did do all 31 days (woo). The pictures will all be in spoilers, but this is still going to be a looong post. Day 1: Poisonous The classic poisonous apple. A nice start. Day 2: Tranquil Birbs. Just birbs. Day 3: Roasted Poor photo quality aside, I think this is cute. Just roasting marshmallows until they're a smoldering lump of carbon and sticky sugar. Day 4: Spell It had been forever since I last drew Apin and Glyph, so I had to draw them. Apin's doing her thing while Glyph is along for the ride. Day 5: Chicken Me: Literal chicken or figurative chicken? Literal chicken... or figurative chicken... Day 6: Drooling I actually sleep like that, fun fact. Also fun fact, that's my comforter. I took that picture on my bed and I didn't crop out the comforter because I thought it fit well with what I was going for. Day 7: Exhausted Accurate drawing of me during the semester. Day 8: Star Goofy movie star strikes a pose on the red carpet. I would totally do something like this. Day 9: Precious Okay, you can probably figure out that I find rabbits precious. (I literally go by Rabbit online.) Day 10: Flowing Hey look, a sort of landscape. I think that counts. I wanted to draw a river today. It's something different than what I drew so far. As much as I love drawing characters, a landscape drawing is always fun. Day 11: Cruel The way the light was casting on the drawing made adjusting the levels interesting (I do that because a potato can take a better picture than my phone), but I think the darkness around the edges actually help. Just an attempt at being abstract, like how it's cruel to mess with someone's heart, I dunno. Day 12: Whale There wasn't any other direction I could go in for today. The whale is real cute, though. Day 13: Guarded That was one of those days where every idea I had went out the window. So I went with this. I think it's cute, at least. Day 14: Clock As you can see, I need work with hands. I think my life could have been easier if I had a white gel pen (I had to try to leave gaps where I wanted a line in between blacks). Basically, this was a bit of a train wreck. I like what I had in mind, but the execution was not my favorite. Day 15: Weak Yeah, over Inktober, I drew that girl a bunch of times and I grew attached. Her name is Leah and she's eight and I need to do a drawing with her colored. Day 16: Angular If you've looked at my art, you know my usual art style has very curvy lines, so today was a bit rough for me. It's simple because I knew if I thought too much about it, things wouldn't turn out angular. Day 17: Swollen Leah's a kid, kids get bumps. Day 18: Bottle I thought it'd be fun to draw a person in a bottle. Day 19: Scorched Leah's back at it again with the marshmallow burning. This time, she's causing damage to the grass. Day 20: Breakable Again, I like the concept, but the execution wasn't quite right. I think the hands are too small, the hair needs work, there are lumps in the line art. I just had an off day that day. Day 21: Drain I'm trying to be abstract again, woo. I was kind of going with how Inktober itself can be draining. I've done it for two years now and it can be exhausting. Day 22: Expensive In the words of my caption for this on Instagram... He is beauty, he is grace, he's got dark circles on his face.Day 23: Muddy Leah's trying to play around with her cat. The cat is not amused. Day 24: Chop I had no idea what to do for chop, so I went with a classic cleaver. Day 25: Prickly This here is likely my favorite drawing of Inktober. I don't usually use hatching / contour lines a lot in my usual art, but I wanted to color this in and my usual scribbling method wouldn't really fit. So I went with this. Not perfect, but I like it. Day 26: Stretch At this point, my ideas for Inktober were running dry. I went with the classic stretch, since it gave me an excuse to work with poses. Day 27: Thunder The meteorologist part of me was conflicted on this day. On one hand, I could do something weather related. On the other, thunder is the sound, not the light.ANYWAY, I went with a lightning strike. Fun fact, lightning can strike miles away from the storm cloud it originated in. So if you hear thunder, you go inside even if the clouds are far. (That type of lightning is actually responsible for most lightning strikes injuring people.) Day 28: Gift It's the kitty's gift now. Day 29: Double I never watched The Shining, but I had to do something inspired by it, so twins it is. I tried to make it as symmetrical as possible. I think it turned out okay. Day 30: Jolt This is just sort of like a surprise jolt. The photo quality of this one is down the toilet. Day 31: Slice I wanted to do a grande finale for this year's Inktober and make it all fancy, but I was tired of it and I had a night class I needed to get to, so I went with swords. Overall, I did prefer last year's prompts to this year. Quite a few of them were similar to last year (poison --> poisonous, filthy --> muddy, etc) and I didn't find some of them to be very flexible. That being said, I really do like the majority of my drawings from this year and I think I did better this year from last.

Okay, so I've been doing a lot of NTWF D&D doodles, so time to dump them! Whenever I have a character that doesn't like dresses, I always put them in dresses, because that's always fun. So I did that with Anther. I also like drawing dresses in general, so this was bound to happen. As a ranger, Anther has access to a whole bunch of fancy spells (she also got a cantrip from being a high elf). I thought it'd be fun to have her eyes change colors when these spells are cast. I'll add to this as she gets access to more spells. In the meantime, here's what there is so far. (For shocking grasp, I thought electric blue would be good. Speak with animals is green because of nature. Hunter's Mark is gold because I thought that'd look cool.) And here is the party! Anther (meeee) the high elf ranger, Dahlia ( Ginz ❤ ) the halfling cleric, and Cree ( Shinko ) the dragonborn bard. We're quite a party, if I do say so myself. (Cree and Anther have the height, as you can tell. |D) There is an NPC character, Hush ( Tiger , also known as our DM), but I didn't draw her in here. Whoops. Speaking of Dahlia... She's got Thaumaturgy, perfect for opening big doors! This isn't a big ominous gate, nope, definitely not.The party's latest adventure is at a festival. Said festival involves masks and costumes and fun fall stuff. Naturally, I drew Anther a mask. (She doesn't do costumes, but she'll wear a mask.) At said festival, she bought a rapier. As she was waiting for the Cree, Dahlia, and Hush, she got bored and started playing with it, putting on a little show. I rolled performance and I got a 20. (That was my third 20 of the session. The first two were one after another.) And that's how I won D&D, my friends.

Tis the season for silly doodles, fa la la la la la la la la~ (I'll get something more finished up someday...) I had a silly idea of drawing Anther as a Christmas elf and it evolved into the entire DND party dressed up in Christmas-y stuff. From left to right, we got... Hush ( Tiger ) wearing an ugly sweater, who definitely didn't knock down that tree, nope. (She probably rolled a 1 for something.) Dahlia ( Ginz ❤ ) dressed as an angel since the dice clearly like her the best, looking at said tree. Anther (meeee) dressed as a Christmas elf because she's, well, an elf, being unhappy to be here. And Cree ( Shinko ) in a Santa style dress, just being overall jolly.

I've been doing doodles all on the side, but I knew I wanted to post something finished here after all this time. Problem was, I had no motivation to put all the work into a drawing. Coloring, shading, highlights, backgrounds, that's a lot of stuff to do and I didn't really have the commitment to do it. Until I remembered an old drawing from a while ago. I had the sudden urge to redraw it and so I did. And so, here it is. (If you want to see the original, it's in the spoiler below. Fair warning, the colors are very bright. Why past me thought it looked good, I dunno.) This is a Neopet of mine, but it had been a while since I drew something for Neo and I felt like now would be a good time. I also really like the concept of the old drawing. And now, if you want to hear me ramble on about the differences, go right ahead. (I'm just putting it in a spoiler because I know I can go on for a while.) For one, I really like the color scheme much better in the newer drawing. I loved bright colors back in the day and I still do, but all the colors of the old drawing are just too saturated and too bright.
I like the new pose better. I'm still working on poses in general, but I feel like the newer one has much more personality and is much less stiff.
The moon does not look like part of a chip. I count that as a plus. The old moon is bright and lumpy and not lumpy in the good way. I was going to add more craters into the new moon, but I realized that a) it'd probably be too busy and b) that would be a lot of work and putting in the craters was all sorts of tedious.
I still don't know how to draw aurora borealis, but I've improved with winging it while drawing them. The stars are much better as well.
In general, I feel like my current style fits me a lot better now. I still love drawing cute things, but I feel like my current style fits what I want to draw more. It's not cute by default. I remember when I was younger, I tried drawing something scary and people called it cute and I got so frustrated. XD I think I'm past that stage now (getting frustrated about comments on my art, not the cute part), so it's all good.
And there are general shading and highlight improvements. I really don't know how to describe it, but that's changed in a way I'm happy with.

Oh, I joined in another DND campaign with some other NTWF members and I figured it's time to show off my character. This is Virga, a water genasi druid. (Yes, her name is a weather pun. I looked up cloud names and came across virga clouds and I thought it was perfect.) Her design was fun to come up with. I love the colors. The markings and hair took some experimenting, though. As for her personality... ...I think this gives you an idea. (She loves people, animals, and plants. She's a sweetie.)

I love her design! The hair and dress in particular - they're so pretty! *w* (I love that the hair curls are like swirly clouds, and that dress - both design and color and the pleated skirt...OMG, I can't stop admiring it all, lol.)

OKAY, SO it's been a while since I posted here. Whoops. That was not intentional. Sorry about that. So I should post something here. The image itself is at least a month old, but I am pretty happy with it. Long story short, Virga got the finishing blow on that sea ooze with a cool fire from produce flame. I still need to work on fire and water textures (as well as some textures in general), but I am happy with how this looks.

You know, it's been a while since I've posted here, I should fix that. Anyway, in Americaland D&D, there was a prompt of sorts to draw your character as a tarot card. So I went along with that. So here are my D&D characters as tarot cards and their respective meanings. Anther The Magician, when upright, means willpower, desire, creation, and manifestation. When reversed, however, it means trickery, illusions, and out of touch. Virga The Fool, when upright, means innocence, new beginnings, and free spirit. When reversed, however, it means recklessness, being taken advantage of, and inconsideration.

I drew this a while ago for a theme week for the Neopets beauty contest and it got second overall somehow. The snow was fun to draw.
