In the past, I didn't find playing the thing to be worth it because half the time the question was too obscure to immediately know the answer and digging around for the answer for the couple hundred NP of the reward got filed under "uuuugh too much wooork". This reminds me of something: I've wondered for a while that perhaps the amount of Neopoints that the Daily Question (and other features, such as games, for that matter) gives out should be increased a bit, to create more incentive for answering it, since I feel that things like inflation and Trudy's Surprise make the NP reward for certain activities/dailies seem rather insignificant in comparison. Nothing extreme, but raised just enough to be more than just pocket change. ...oh man, the random polls probably haven't updated since before I started on the site, though, seeing how the options for "with operating system do you use to play Neopets" include Win2000 and Win98. It's always been intriguing and nostalgic for me to see how old many features on the site like the polls are. For example, it's hard to believe how long the Stock Market has been around, and yet it still remains fairly used to this day (and graphics-wise, it doesn't even look all that old). And I think my first was Windows XP.

Okay, more BC drama. My buddy from the AC just got her entry removed for advertising offsite... Only she never did that. She's a regular in the BC, she wouldn't do this. She believes that someone else advertised her entry offsite with the intent of getting her entry kicked out. Alice, the ticket person, is working on the issue.
And it's possible that a second Uni entry was kicked.
So yeah, the no offsite advertising rule. It's dumb.
Imma keep y'all up to date on this as I learn of this stuff.

I'm so sorry your friend fell victim to that. I hope the support staff is able to get to the bottom of this issue. It really isn't fair that all you need to do to get an entry removed is take three minutes to make a reddit account in someone else's name and start spamming their entry.

I think how it works if that it's a queue array that questions are loaded in, probably even planned on a calendar. When the queue runs out, it just repeats the last question. Also, JN usually has the answer up after I say 10 minutes the start of the new day. Now personally I like trying to answer the question myself, it may take me to a place on the site I didn't know or forgotten about like a Neopedia article. Or maybe it brings attention a certain item. However if I'm in a rush or don't feel like digging around they always have the answer (and I'm sure on the Neoboards there's a Daily Trivia thread). As for the poll, I'd go for "Other Windows". Not sure if serious about me not being serious; why would I be joking about this? o_Õ (I occasionally use Android as well ) The old polls strike me as something that was released all at once way-back-when, used for some time and then never updated again, which is kind of a shame considering the potential they hold. Stuff like "what should we work on next?" and "what would you like to see more of?" would nicely come in handy right now, plus provide some good ol' democratic data for everyone who'd otherwise complain about the team not working on something else instead. But, y'know, that probably stopped being viable back when Neopets grew big enough. That makes me feel old, since I started playing Neopets on Windows 95 (98 was out at the time, but we didn't upgrade our OS until XP) I've been playing Neopets longer than some of my fellow players have even been alive. We-ell, I come from the land where technology lagged behind the rest of the world for a long time. We got a very brief period of Win 95-98-ME-2000 before XP became the household thing and before that point, most people wouldn't have had much household computer access. For the same reason, VHS tapes are nearly entirely unknown here. For maximum fridge horror, my pets are all somewhere between 13-11 years old in real time. If we assume that Lupes have a similar lifespan to wolves or large dogs then Shad is turning 12 in a week and should also be dead by now.If we assume human lifespan then they're all obnoxious tweens. I just separate "site Neopia" with "plot Neopia" so my characters can all be in their early to mid-20's. Well, other than Bones, he's somewhere in his late 50's.

Yeah, we all knew this would happen eventually. It's still shocking. It is confirmed that Amanda (I'm pretty sure she's the BC judge) is looking into the issue. It is reported that she might be familiar with the AC board. Someone might get in trouble for this. I hate that it happened, but this also might be a good thing. It might be a warning that this no offsite rule is just waiting to be abused. On a lighter note, the BC Funboard has a new motto. "The Funboard only funs"

"The Funboard only funs" People are going to find ways to cheat no matter what TNT does, and this is the proof. TNT is just going to have to decide which is the lesser of two evils. I'm glad the judge is looking closely into this situation. It's probably too late to reverse the entry being taken down, but I hope your friend at least gets any warnings/account strikes from this removed.

Nothing extreme, but raised just enough to be more than just pocket change. That right there is something that people will forever argue about, because virtual economies are fragile and somewhat unpredictable things (well, I figure they're plenty predictable but real-life economies have more serious guys in suits keeping a handle on things). It's true that it should be balanced and Trudy's Surprise in particular is throwing that balance outta whack. I'd lean more towards toning down the amount of moolah you can get from Trudy's Surprise, moreso because you specifically have to opt out of that while all other moneymaking methods are something you have to actively seek out in some form or other. Although personally, I'm finding I like the features that give out items rather than money, both because I can actually use the items *still feeds her pets regularly so Jhudora can kindly keep the pies coming* and because the players essentially self-regulate the item-based supply and demand economy, while giving out NP is little more than pulling numbers out of thin air. Also, folks, Patjade already touched upon it a few pages back but as a general reminder: this here isn't the Banter Board, so if you have actual rants about Neopets, please do everyone a solid and take it over there. Venting about Neopets issues is all well and fine, but Neopets General isn't the board for that.

I hope we get an answer about the BC thing on Friday. No answer last week, but it is clear the rule needs to be rethought.

... And this is why you check which items you are giving out in the Daily Puzzle. I mean, it is nice it isn't about Jhudora still, but today it awarded an item that hasn't been activated. So, it didn't award it.

Anyone send in a ticket or a comment to the editor about it?

Sure did. Now the Lit Candles on a Stream Foreground has also been 'awarded' through the Wishing Well, despite also not yet being activated. I wonder if there's something going wrong on JS's end that is showing these items as activated despite them not being so on the actual site. Would explain why lately there have been random items left out when things either side in news start restocking.

Ghoul Catchers has been down a few days for non-mobile users, and recently went down for mobile as well, according to the discussions on the help boards (I'm not a mobile user).

Oh no, not Ghoul Catchers. Whatever will we do without a crappy mobile game? It just seems to have large performance overhead that drains my battery much more than Pokemon Shuffle (which is a similar game).

Yup. tried installing it on my android tablet when it went down on friday, but it kept telling me username/password don't match. XD TRYING TO TRAIN A PET HERE, JUMPSTAFF. CODESTONES AIN'T CHEAP. WHERE ELSE CAN I PLAY THE FIRST LEVEL 50 TIMES AND MAKE 50K. Obviously the solution would be to give a full set of free codestones to all users every day. I kid. XD (Maybe.) (I mean, stuff is already deflated, right?)
