I was always disturbed by the fact the Peasant Militia Mob card in BFM is a "Hero" card, despite the flavor text saying "It's strange and different! KILL IT!" Disney got the whole mob mentality = evil thing right, though: But this is apparently something the "good guys" do according to Neopets lore. A Meridellian could probably burn a Darigan village to the ground and get away with it :/ |

On a more light-hearted note, somebody made a board called "DAVID LORD SOUNDS LIKE THE NAME OF A FINAL FANTASY VILLAIN" and said in an opening post, "I FOR ONE WELCOME OUR NEW JUMPSTART MASTERS." Then people made jokes about wanting a "Darth David" avatar with spiky hair like Sloth, and a cruel visage. Sort of like how there already is an avatar of Adam saying "mu ha ha ha!"
I guess what's happening isn't exactly acceptance yet, but hopefully the new people from JumpStart are getting a taste of how lively the Neopets community can be, in both good and bad ways. ^^
I really do hope David Lord et al. have something approaching TNT's sense of humor. Then again it would be kind of sad if they tried too hard to be something they're not. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how they decide to nurture their relationship with the fanbase.

Yeah I wouldn't get on the poor guy/gal who wrote that. We don't know what that person does for Neopets outside of the news posts or how much time they had between other tasks to write and post that. I'll personally be sparing the poor guy who's actually trying to keep us updated and aware of what (admittedly little) new content is out my wrath over a few typos until the site is no longer a glitchy, laggy, understaffed mess with half its features broken. :S

I think that downtime made things worse. Now I have all kinds of things that come and go, especially my weapons in the BD.
What a pain. At least the good thing is that your opponent also has his weapons missing, so I ended beating down the Tiki Tack man with my bare fists and my ability of icicle. Abilities were the only things working and bare fist is the default weapon if you have none.

This is odd. I'm getting significantly improved site speed--pages are coming up at a good clip--but with certain page elements never loading/broken as heck. For instance, I can't start a battle ("no challengers") and certain pop-up confirmations seem to be gone.
On the one hand, much of the site is more usable now. On the other hand, some of this stuff needs to be fixed pretty fast...

Definitely an improvement, but with issues that need to be ironed out, like drop down menus resetting when you hit the back button (which is a huge pain, having to constantly click to get the right option, especially if you're using the Neolodge or Shop Wizard). It's definitely a start, but it'll take more that just fixing the lag on the site to earn back the trust of the community. |
