January -_- And it was only really announced on twitter. (Peridot hacked the CartoonNetwork account, posted some fun stuff. Then got in a small argument with the CartoonNetworkPR account when she tried to post plot stuff about the new episodes, then they agree'd to announce the new episodes Friday.) |

So if you go in the Steven Universe tag on tumblr right now it's just reams of all caps swearing and freaking out because of the twists that just dropped. I'm not even going to post it in spoiler tags yet because it's too big--go find it and watch it--but I'm laughing so hard rn because I actually called it and even I didn't believe me

I caught on that Pearl did the "shattering", and I also had a theory floating around that Pink Diamond faked her own death, but I was missing a key piece of evidence, and that was motive. Now everything makes sense. 8D |

maaan, this show's writing. i enjoy it, sometimes unironically, sometimes ironically. spoiler is about the recent plot stuff. don't actually click it. what did i actually call something.
that identity reveal makes smoky quartz's design make so much more sense and i'm glad i was right.
also lol they literally just flipped the gem I wish I could do that.
also GREG KILLED PINK DIAMOND CONFIRMED also greg is still Best Character, he is my favorite. this doesn't have anything to do with recent events, this is just a hard fact and if you disagree you are just Wrong TM. |

Somehow, even though I haven't watched Steven Universe -or any clips or videos about it- in nearly a year and have cleared my browsing history and cookies since the last time I did... ...I still got spoiled on the latest episode because of a thumbnail on Youtube's front page.  At this point, I don't even go looking for spoilers; the spoilers go looking for me. Anyways... I can't believe Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond's gemsona.
(Also, count me in as a former member of the "Pearl did it" camp. I guess we were half right?)

Greg is still the best character. lol I love how he's like "i'll just make them fall in love with me just like I did pink!" would have honestly worked, because I have not met a single person on this earth who wouldn't fall in love with greg. I mean I *guess* there are other characters that aren't Greg, but like, why are they important? Who cares about anyone when you have Greg in your life? They should replace all characters with Greg. Like that one time Pearl had a nightmare about him, but every episode. |

Moni : Like, it would have been so easy (and lazy) for the writers to make Greg the typical "out-of-touch bumbling dad that just doesn't understand his son." But I love that he's not only a great dad to Steven, but also a really good person in general. Considering that animation is chock full of awful fathers, it really is a breath of fresh air. |
