As someone who is a huge fan of this show, i am surprised that there's not one for this amazing show already! It's high time I change that! Never seen the show before but curious as to what it's about? Well then look no further, because you can watch all the episodes here: theworldofstevenuniverse.blogspot.com/p/steven-universe-season-1-english.html ! (They even upload episodes very soon after they first come out, so if you can't catch it live, then you can catch it soon after!) Other Links:Show SoundtrackCrewniverse (Staff Blog)Subreddit (Awesome place full of fan speculation and a good place to keep up to date on when episode previews come up. I'll be doing my best to post the previews to this thread though.) Keep Beach City Weird! (Ronaldo's not-so-famous blog is in fact a real blog run by the crewniverse themselves!)

This is the thing I say to everyone that is interested in watching the show who hasn't already (Sorry for double posting, but I didn't want to stick this in the main forum post):
The earlier episodes are somewhat weaker, but at the same time, you're getting snippets of information about the various characters and the world they live in. If you're one of those people who like to watch out of order, at least watch 1 and 2 first and back to back to get a fair idea of the show's setting and stuff. I feel like it gets a lot better at and after Giant Woman (Episode 12).

YESSSSS I LOVE THIS SHOW I WAS ALSO WONDERING WHY WE DIDN'T HAVE A CLUB THANK YOU FOR MAKING ONE
Pearl, Connie, Amethyst, and Lion are my favorite recurring characters; it's really great to have a cast with such diverse looks and personalities, and I really appreciate all the loving references/homages to nerd culture and anime. I love the character expressions, and the background art and colors in general are stunning!

Woo! *highfive* Connie is totally one of my favorite characters, but I think Steven is my favorite overall. He's a goofball, but he's not a scatterbrain like the goofy comic relief in other shows like chowder or spongebob (well, post movie spongebob at any rate), as he shows most of the time that he's very resourceful and is capable of quick thinking to get out of a situation. Also, for a child character, he's REALLY well written. Heck, this entire show is just well written! The art and backgrounds are stunning on their own, but you forgot another aspect that sets it apart from other shows: The music. I mean, just look at this show's soundtrack! (Totes gonna go back and edit the main post to put this link in).

Aha yes! Sign me up, I'm definitely a fan.
I think the thing I love the most about this show is the music. It's so well-thought out and fits perfectly and adds a sense of depth and (i don't know the right word to put here but pretend I do) that a lot of other shows just don't have. It's so fun to listen to! And if you're me, it's fun to listen to obsessively, daily.
But everything's pretty great. I love the character design and personalities and the way they interact with each other, and I love the stories and the humor and the art and everything.
(ever since I've heard it, I've had "Strong in the Real Way" stuck in my head)

I can't say I'm that much of a fan. I'm barely getting into it now that the backstory stuff is starting to come out more and more.

Well Secret Team Premiered Yesterday. You can catch it here! What was everyone's thoughts? I myself enjoyed the beginning and ending, but I found Steven to be kind of annoying when he was whining about wanting secret team to come back. Although I did enjoy the Friman family's dialogue during that part of the episode. The ending was pretty awesome, although I felt that the resolution was a bit weaker than it could have been. Overall I found it to be a pretty decent episode.
Also, the preview for next week's episode, Island Adventure, is up! ...aaand as a bonus this week, we have another sneak peak of that episode from comic con!

Forgot to update this over the last few episodes, but: The episode "Island Adventure" is up! Watch it here: The episode "Keep Beach City Weird" has also premiered last night. You can catch that one here: And the preview for next week's episode "Fusion Cuisine" is up. My thoughts on both: Island Adventure I'd already gotten a little too spoiled with this one from watching the previews so many times. However, I certainly wasn't expecting the climax. I think one really cool aspect of this show is how every character is getting their time of day. It's not just about the crystal gems, but the side characters have their own days and development as well, and I love it. Also, Sadie is awesome.
Keep Beach City Weird I do like the fact that a less used character like Ronaldo is getting his time of day, but this episode overall felt kind of weak to me. Every show has it's filler though. Although Ronaldo's final conclusion of "Polymorphic, Sentient Rocks is pretty much a description of the gems, I wonder if what he says about their intentions also reflects the intentions of the other gems still out there...

The newest episode, "Fusion Cuisine" is out! And it can be found here: Some users on the Steven Universe reddit also seem to have found an interesting screenshot that bears evidence of a fan theory revolving around Garnet: Also, the sneak peek for next week's episode: "Garnet's Universe" has also been released!

Oh no Steven's mom ;-; that was such a sweet episode Yeah, that was the best episode in a while! I've been feeling sorta uderwhelmed with the recentmost episodes, but this one had the charm, the feelings, and the wonder that I love about the show. Also, one of my favorite aspects is the fact that Steven went to the Donut because he learned about the VCR there in "Jokijg victim" That really tiny detail that ended up being pretty important to the episode blew my mind a bit. World building at its finest.

The show is full of continuity nods, which I really like. I used to show people the episodes out of order because I thought it didn't matter, but more and more I keep finding things in later episodes that are callbacks to things I initially dismissed as filler. (Also, on the subject of that, did anyone here notice the scar on Sadie's face in Watermelon Steven? I thought it was something on my screen at first, but then I remembered she got it in Island Adventure.) I enjoyed Island Adventure a lot. Lars and Sadie's relationship is turning out to be a lot more interesting than I gave it credit for at first--it's a flawed relationship, to be sure, but it's clear that both characters are still trying to figure themselves out and the rough patches along the way are portrayed with a refreshing honesty. Yeah, can I just spaz for a moment over how expressive the characters on this show are? The way they portray crying is stylistically so simple and captures it so well, I'm just, dang. Sadie in Joking Victim, Lars here when he asks if she ever feels lonely when there are people around, Sadie's face when she nods slowly and you can tell from that small gesture that she gets it on a much deeper level than words can express--I felt for them so much at all those points. This cartoon is really good at showing raw emotion when it wants to.
Island Adventure got me to finally have sympathy for Lars, and it finally revealed a selfish side to Sadie. Up to this point I've been frustrated with Sadie's patience with Lars and it hasn't been clear to me what she sees in him when he's clearly still a kid who's trying too hard to be cool. Island Adventure brought out his insecurity and showed him finally dropping the "too cool for anything" act for a bit, and also showed that Sadie can be manipulative. Lars is trying to figure out who he is, and Sadie is trying to figure out how to deal with who he is now compared to who she wants him to be. It's going to be a rough path of learning for both of them, and I like that they're shown trying to make it work--their relationship isn't perfect or romanticized, but it is, and they're both trying to figure out what exactly that means.
In other news, Sadie is kickbutt and the sequence when Steven was singing was beautiful hnnng the colors and backgrounds I also loved Garnet's Universe, mostly because of all the references to pop culture tropes. The extra-simplified style it was drawn in was really fun to watch, I loved that it was distinctly stylized and the very basic appearance of everything was in keeping with Garnet's no-nonsense character--I wonder what the other gems' universes would look like. And the videogame theme of the whole thing was awesome. I loved the design and facial expressions of the frog, and did they just put Usagi Yojimbo in this cartoon?! I love the blatant references in this show homg.
Also Ronaldo as magical boy yessss. Kinda wondering though... what with this and Keep Beach City Weird... is Ronaldo possibly more sinister than he seems? He's misguided enough that he could cause some real trouble if he starts obsessing over the wrong thing.
I thought it was cute that Steven kept imagining himself as the beloved person that kept Garnet going through the difficult times. It reminded me of how when you're a kid, you like to insert yourself into the important roles. The whole framing thing reminded me of adventures I frequently made up about my family or friends when I was a kid. Fusion Cuisine's moment with Garnet at the beginning was seriously one of the funniest in the whole show. Garnet is fantastic when she gets a chance to shine. I liked that Steven called the gems family throughout the episode. I've always thought of the gems and Steven being like siblings or a family to each other, so I enjoyed seeing that reinforced in canon. And yes, the most recent episode was beautiful. ...I'm not sure if I'm the only one who did this, but whenever Steven was holding his breath, I seemed to subconsciously hold mine too. I actually lasted through the whole long section! By the end of it I was pretty much making the same faces Steven was, haha. I can't help feeling like they intentionally timed those parts to be a realistic length.
