Something's been bugging me about the events of Bismuth/Back to the Moon/Bubbled. Eyeball says she saw Rose shatter Pink Diamond, an assertion that the Crystal Gems confirm. The thing is, when Steven is trying to prove to Eyeball that he has Rose's gem in Bubbled, he pulls out his shield, and Eyeball scoffs, saying it's Rose's sword she remembers specifically. The problem with that being that in Bismuth, Bismuth outright says that she designed Rose's sword to never harm a Gem's gem.
It's possible Rose poofed PD before shattering her in some other way (as Eyeball didn't mention any other weapons, it would probably have to have been by hand somehow) but if that's not the case, there's more to this story we're not seeing, because Bismuth states pretty explicitly that Rose had her design the sword specifically to leave the gem intact.
Not trying to get all conspiracy here or anything but it's been bugging me for a while. XD As I recall, Eyeball also made a comment about the size of Rose's sword. Which is kinda odd, considering that the sword Bismuth made and is currently being mostly used by Connie isn't huge... ...unlike something else that we saw back in Ocean Gem. Of course, poking holes in this theory is that the Temple's proximity to the giant sword probably isn't a coincidence and -assuming that the Temple represents a fusion between Rose, Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst- would likely be the only thing on the Crystal Gem's side we know of big enough to wield such a weapon; but Amethyst wasn't around for the war, let alone Pink Diamond's shattering. Unless the sword was used by a different fusion, of course. I think it's pretty clear that there's a lot to the story of Pink Diamond that we don't know. While I don't have much doubt at this point that Rose did indeed do the deed, I have a suspicion there's more to it than, "Rose shattered Pink Diamond in cold blood 'cus why not lol." And as other people have stated, I'm a bit wary of going completely on the word of the same Ruby that fell hook-line-and-sinker for "Jasper."

So I've sloooowly been watching this show to procrastinate on life. Everyone's waaaay too emotional for me. I figure I'm not the target audience but I kinda like it. #TEAMBISMUTHBOIS
steven and rose just don't realize the tactical advantage of heaving a weapon like that.
... i'm a bad person

So it was revealed by Cartoon Network a week or two ago that Steven Universe would return on January 30th for another week of new episodes!
Guess what Cartoon Network just did today?
Leaked all five of the aforementioned episodes through their app/website! Again!
So yet again, because Cartoon Network clearly does not learn from its mistakes, beware of spoilers if you wish to wait to watch the episodes when they get released officially!

I'm really looking forward to new episodes, I wish January 30th wasn't so far-off still... It took me about ten minutes after my previous post to run into a spoiler thumbnail on YouTube. So after that, I caved in and looked at a general overview of the spoilers. (Haven't actually seen the episodes proper) And from what I've seen? Cartoon Network messed up BIG TIME. These are EASILY the biggest set of spoilers that have been leaked thus far.

With talk of these new episodes, I was reminded to go back and catch up on the latest ones. In the process, though, I skipped all of Onion Gang and half of Gem Harvest; anything important in either of those that I should go back and catch?

With talk of these new episodes, I was reminded to go back and catch up on the latest ones. In the process, though, I skipped all of Onion Gang and half of Gem Harvest; anything important in either of those that I should go back and catch? Mm, I didn't notice anything notable to the overall plot in Onion Gang, and a character that was introduced in Gem Harvest does make a brief appearance in Steven's Dream. So if you're asking if you need to watch all of those two episodes to understand the five new ones, then not really. You should be fine. In the long run though, I'd treat Steven Universe the same way fans have to treat One Piece - never assume that any canon episodes are just filler. In One Piece's case, there was once an entire story-arc that didn't immediately seem much more than filler and fans told newbies to just skip it when trying to catch up, only for that to bite them in the butt when things from the aforementioned story-arc suddenly became very important to the plot at large. In Steven Universe's case, I can't think of any specific examples off the top of my head, but I know it's has had some major foreshadowing in episodes that were initially dismissed as filler as well. So I would play it safe and eventually get around to watching the episodes you asked about at some point. Also worth warning people about: I don't know if anyone in this forum has epilepsy or not, but just in case, there is a sequence in the last few minutes of Adventures of Light Distortion that could possibly cause an episode, so be careful.

Blueysicle Yeah, I went ahead and just watched the leaked episodes to get it over with, and the new character in Gem Heist was the only connection I noticed. I'm not sure of any filler episodes right now that contained any huge pieces of information (except for those trolling episodes that seem like filler up until the last few minutes XD), but they often at least contain small mentions that'll make links to future episodes. So, they have foreshadowing, but nothing vital to understand future content. Like, with Keep Beach City Weird and other Ronaldo episodes, there's very on the nose foreshadowing, but I still feel like I'd do just fine not watching them X) Then again, I'm not one to really get into theorizing, so I guess those little bits of info aren't as important to me. I'll probably look back at those episodes later as I skipped them mostly due to lack of interest (never was a fan of Onion episodes), just like a few older episodes XD

I wrote an illustrated fic about what the end of the Gem War might have been like from a Diamond's point of view. To give an idea of what it might spoil, I came up with the idea after Back to the Moon, and the basic idea hasn't changed much with the recent arc (down to the theories and headcanons XD), though it does make a few references to the zoo arc. Here it is. (I added some alt text, though I don't know if it works.) Enjoy. =3

So! Wanted! Well, that was pretty darn amazing. As soon as I saw The Trial, I remembered my earlier post here, and then Zircon poked more holes in the story. So of course way more questions were raised than answered, but I loved the plot twist. I can't even begin to theorize yet on what actually happened, but I love it. (Also I love Blue Zircon. I actually loved everyone in that episode, but Zircon just was so endearing.) All the Off-Colors are amazing and adorable. I could honestly rave about all of them. And I was so proud of Lars! I'd kind of been spoiled on that bit beforehand, but I loved it. I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next, but I'm incredibly excited to find out! 💖

The Trial Maaaan, what a great episode. No OBJECTIONs?? but I guess I'll let it pass because it's only the first trial of the game.
And the characters finally point out what I noticed many episodes ago. The "someone framed Rose Quartz" theory is looking pretty strong right now.
Pearl did it.
Also, Blue Diamond can make people cry, that's a great power.

The Trial: As someone who plays Ace Attorney, I agree that this episode was fun. XD Possibly relevant: a theory I posted about Pink Diamond's fall, before I saw the Zoo arcAlso possibly relevant: my interpretation of White Diamond so farBasically, while I may have confirmational bias going on, some stuff in this ep. runs in line with some theories of mine. (I maaaaay also have an unfinished 'fic with even more details that still seem plausible...) (...Am I being too ambiguous? ) I do wonder why White Diamond didn't show up... Oh, I've kind of got the impression that Blue Pearl might just kind of tolerates her job. I spotted her standing like this while Blue wasn't looking, which looks like 'impatience' to me. I also noticed she was already waiting to close the door in the zoo before Blue Diamond asked her to. It also seemed like she let her mind wander after, seeing as Yellow Pearl had to get her attention. XD So yeah, I do wonder if her doodling was her way of taking records, or a way of slacking. XD Maybe a way to pull off both. Off Colors: I liked recognizing names of new Gem types. They had a Rainbow Fluorite! 8D And a Rhodonite (who I think is a Ruby and a Pearl)! And a Pink Sapphire (who was so totally adorable)! 83
