Ooh, nice! I approve of large Petpets. That tail is gorgeous! I love Ayame, so I'm looking forward to the introduction of another engaging female character.

If I had to name a weakness in my art, it's in consistency. I generally have to check my own references while drawing a character to keep all of their features accurate. This was something I did at work today during my break, as an experiment. Picked six of the centeral characters of Ballad and scribbled them with no references. Gary came out the worst, which doesn't really surprise me. |D I have a lot of trouble with his face, especially when it comes to getting his muzzle to be sized proportionate to the rest of his head. I was surprised by how well Hagan and Skarl came out, this being my first attempt at drawing both of them. Obviously stylized them some, but I think they're both still recognizable as themselves. Because I overthink stuff, the coronets on their heads mark them as being princes- Hagan's is bigger and more ornate because he is the heir. I'll probably do some expression studies to practice drawing each character's head over and over until I can get them consistently.

Bwahahahahaaaaaahhh Hyren is going to die
I like how Blynn is hysterical with laughter. That's exactly what her reaction would be in this situation.

I'm glad you like it! Fun fact - this is my first serious attempt at drawing a Grundo. I think I've only ever done one other one, and it was in a crowd scene from behind so you could barely see it. XD Hyren got to be my experimental monkey.
Come on Hyren, your feet are sparkly now!

Hey, he looks great for your first serious attempt! Those antennae can be tricky. Hyren is good at being an experimental monkey, just ask Sloth. Hyren: Leave the sparkles to Faerie pets, thanks. <_<

Some Medieval art tonight. First here's a doodle for Rosalie Dylas (Maddy). Rosalie, with Morgaine's cat Mercury. And here's a scribble of a younger Morgaine with her husband, Belial. In my headcanon, Morgaine had some issues when she was younger because she was extremely blunt and forthright about her opinions. This alienated a lot of people because... yeah she could be rude at times. XD The fact that she was constantly playing pranks on people when she was bored didn't help. Belial met her when his company was assigned to deal with some rogue wyverns, and they set up base in her hometown. She played a few harmless but aggravating pranks on the elves, until eventually Belial was able to catch her in the act. To her surprise, he didn't report her or make any effort to stop her, because he found her antics amusing. Or as he put it "knights need to stay on their toes; if the others can't deal with a human woman chewing on their tails, how can they expect to fight monsters of myth?" And things progressed from there. Belial was a very patient, easygoing guy with a lively sense of humor. He was a great father to both of their children, and was particularly close to their daughter Ophelia. Then dragons ruined everything, and Morgaine was heartbroken. )=

Welp, since his identity has been revealed in canon, I'll post up some pictures of our "mysterious rider" AKA Sieg Braham! In armor And in civilian clothes Sieg is Morgaine's 28 year old half-elf son. Sieg takes strongly after his father in appearance, but with his mother's black hair and much more rounded ears. At 5'1" he's fairly short, but at least he's not quite so fun-sized as mom. XD He is a knight like his father was. Second picture shows the dagger he always carries for self-defense purposes when he's trying not to draw attention to himself. If he's actually going out openly as a knight obviously he'll have a bigger weapon, even if he's just going out to a bar or whatever. Usually he wields a sword, although he can and occasionally does fight with a mace, quaterstaff, or spear. However he didn't bring any of these weapons with him to Medieville (or most of his metal plate armor) because all the gear would have been bulky and slowed him down. Unless he gets something from someone else, in-game he's working with a longsword, dagger, and basic (but good quality) leather armor, as depicted in the first picture. In terms of personality, Sieg is an astonishingly sweet guy. He loves meeting new people, making friends, and being helpful. He is extremely polite, often bordering on over-formality. But his warm demeanor belies the speech patterns that could otherwise be mistaken for stiff, so he comes off more as an eccentric then a prude or a sycophant. Even when he's angry with someone to the point of wanting to sock them, he maintains a friendly smile and a polite mode of speech. Only with people he's really close to does he drop the formality and speak plainly and openly. ^^ I hope to have some fun with this fellow!

Felt like drawing some Sieg as he appears in the climax. He's got his gambeson and helmet, but not the rest of his armor because he was in a hurry. I was too lazy to draw all the seams on the gambeson because it was just a quickie drawing for fun, but I think it came out alright regardless.

I promised I would do it and here it is; the Merchants of Medieval! For those who weren't playing, Medieval had three factions that were at war with each other, and then a fourth pseudo-faction that was neutral and played to all sides. This neutral faction was the merchants, who had their own side competition going (which the Racketeer won, if you're curious.) I was one of the merchants, the Locksmith. My partner Rosalie Dylas (Maddy) was the Keymaker, Pixie was the Racketeer, and Draco was the Assassin. XD I'm sorry if the characters don't look exactly like you guys imagined them, but I was working mostly without references. I did try to get as close to the text descriptions as I could. Fred's description mentioned something about him using force magic to compensate for his missing arm, but I wasn't exactly sure what that meant and I really wanted to draw dramatic flappy sleeve, so I hope Pixie will forgive me my artistic license. 8D Also the height difference between Morgaine and Rosalie is a lot more dramatic then that, but I didn't want Morgaine to be 90% out of the shot which she would have been otherwise. Enjoy guys!

So I've said before that the armor Sieg appears in during the course of the Medieval storyline isn't his formal gear. I finally drew his formal gear. = D

Alright, time for a Medieval art dump! First off, my half of some art trades with Celestial and Elcie. Alain being awesome~ And Xavier doing his Vigilante biz. After that, I have two drawings that are of my characters- characters I've been meaning to draw proper images of for a while and hadn't got around to. These are both sketchy doodles I did at the library during my volunteer time so the anatomy is kinda weird, I apologize. XD First off we have Belial; Morgaine's husband and Sieg's father. Belial died twelve years before the main events in Medieval, but his impact was felt in the family he'd left behind all the same. Next, Belial and Morgaine's daughter and Sieg's younger sister, Ophelia. She was only briefly alluded to in the main Medieval storyline, but showed up in side-fics and will hopefully make an appearance in the side RPs eventually.
