I don't usually post neopets related art to dA because the spamming annoys some of my non-neo watchers, so I figure it can't hurt to have my own art thread here. Besides, all the cool kids were doing it, and I didn't wanna be left out. *brick'd* Anyway, here's a drawing I finished earlier today for my Halloween bori Kahlfu's petlookup. Not immediately obvious because of the angle, but the weird milky yellow eye (a zombie eye) is only on the right side. Her left eye, not visible in the pic, is actually a normal red halloween bori eye.

I get bored occasionally at the desk at the library where I volunteer, so I doodle things on scrap paper. For the past two weeks the theme has apparently been "ALL OF MY BORIS." 24.media.tumblr.com/27d6bc683685eb21527a7d09acf624dc/tumblr_n43en1xPHY1rdp4dzo1_1280.pngFew explanations here for the curious; I make the notation about Gary's fur as kind of a personal reminder to myself. I have this headcanon (which gets alluded to in Stagnation if you're paying close attention) that mammalian faerie neopets have really soft, silky fur. Which feels nice, but is less dense then normal guard hairs would be. So they pick up scratches and such more easily. Because I overthink stupid things like that.
The chocolate bori's speech bubble has that weird circle pattern in it because I was trying to make it look like a stereotypical hypno spiral for the lulz. In his story, whenever I get around to writing it, he has the power to make people believe anything he tells them, no matter how ludicrous. The power is so strong he can literally make people rewrite their own memories to make the things he says to them make sense.
Kahlfu never takes off her skull helmet. If she takes off her skull helmet, you should probably start running. Immediately.

I... didn't know you liked Bori so much. Somehow. Though the only one of those I even remember seeing before is Gary. XD

But you should remember Kale. His design has changed, but I've had a chocolate bori for a while. comments.deviantart.com/1/221981147/1812076451And you kept giving me a hard time about his claws being candy. = D

More petlookup artwork! This time for my Darigan Lupe, which means all four of my main account pets have artwork on their lookups. It's about time. XD Not revealing too much about this fellow because spoilers, but the abridged version is that he is a Darigani apothecary (no magic in his mixes, just herbs) named Shess that will appear in Ballad eventually. Though it'll be a while before that happens considering in the timeline the story is currently exploring the orb has not yet been stolen or even discovered. And yes, that arm hanging at kind of an awkward angle is the paralyzed arm I mentioned before on the NT No-no's thread. (Yeah, I can see the stray pixels, but despite my best efforts for some reason I can't get them to go away in GIMP. >> They aren't really visible on the lighter lookup background so I'm just gonna leave it for now.)

So I colored in a full bodied, full sized version of my avatar picture, and I'd like to submit it to one of the Neopian art contests. Just not sure if I want to submit it to the Beauty Contest or the Art Gallery. Dunno which it would be better suited for. Opinions? EDIT: Removed the slushie splats in the background, didn't like 'em.

Well, you can always try the AG first and then submit to BC if it doesn't work out, but it doesn't work the other way around, so...

Oooh, that's cute! The AG seems to prefer backgrounds, from what I've seen, so the BC might be your best bet. Like Coaster said, you can always submit it to the AG and try the BC if that fails.

Thanks guys, I think I'll try that angle. Also, Heather Dale's " Hunter" is a really pretty song. It inspired me to make arts~ fav.me/d7j9boi

This is my Medieval character, Morgaine Braham. She's a forty-seven year old widow and a talented locksmith. While a generally good sort and completely uninterested in politics, she has a profound love for puzzles and mysteries. If none exist, she will find a way to generate some. Usually trolling a good number of innocent bystanders in the process. She keeps two cats around the shop, a calico female named Rust and a grey tabby male named Mercury. The key around her neck is a gift that was given to her by her partner. GO MERCHANTS!

Working on more petlookup pictures. Here's a character that will eventually be showing up in Ballad of the Faerie's Champion, though not for a very long time yet. I'll keep information on her to a minimum for spoiler reasons, but for now I can reveal that her name is Hazel and she's a striped meerca. She's very short (in context it'll be established that certain species, like meerca and kacheek, have a genetic predisposition for being short) but she can balance on her very long, muscular tail for a few minutes at a time to give herself extra height if needed. The photobombing gruslen is her petpet Fang, who is as stubbornly glued to her side as if he were a ducklet and not a dog.
