And the winner is Mad Constable. Dang, that was a wild poll and kept flip-flopping like crazy. XD
The sign-ups will open in Forum Events tomorrow, March 12th, sometime in the afternoon Eastern Time... let's say between 1 and 4pm. So be on the lookout for it there. If you've any questions before then, by all means feel free to pose them here.
I still need a map artist. PLS BE MY MAP ARTIST. ;__;

Update 2:
Alright, the people have spoken, and the town shall now be called Aifam Cove! Second place goes to Frosthaven, with six votes.
Now that we have the town named squared away, we shall move on to deciding the final role for the game. I have a few others determined already, but thought for the final one that it would be fun for you guys to pick. ^__^ Thank you so much for all the suggestions, and I went with the three that most stood out to me and didn't seem like they'd be overpowered, or underpowered (i.e., useless). So, without further adieu, these roles are:
The Mad Constable:
In this game, the regular "detective" role will be rebranded as the Constable. What's the Mad Constable, then? Well, he's a Constable who guesses a name each round for who he suspects to be mafia. But all the reports he's given are false-- that is to say, innocents show up as guilty, and vice versa. He does not, obviously, know whether or not he's the regular Constable or the mad one, and must figure this out throughout the course of the game. The regular and Mad Constables also do not know who the other is. Upon death, the Mad Constable appears as the regular Constable-- thus meaning the surviving Constable still must determine whether or not she, herself, is sane. A lot of fun strategy goes into this role, and the strategy then carries over to the other Constable as they each attempt to figure out if they're sane... or mad.
Martyr:
The martyr is a true bleeding heart. Innocent and shining and pure. If the martyr is lynched, no mafia death can occur the following night.
The Bomb:
The Bomb is sort of a variation of siblings/lovers, but with intentionality added. If the Bomb is murdered by the mafia (not lynched!), then he can select any alive player in the game to take with him to the grave. Sort of an, ah-- "You're coming with me!" deal. Strategy is also involved in this role, since he's probably aiming to get a mafioso... but since he doesn't know who the mafiosos are, welp. It's probably best for EVERYONE to keep the Bomb alive, m'kay?
**
So, vote away! I'm going to leave this poll open until Tuesday evening. At this point, I think I might do sign-ups starting either Wednesday evening, or Thursday evening. I'll let you guys know when I decide which.
I am also still looking for somebody who would like to draw a map! To make it simpler, I will draw up a (terribly art'd) version with the layout generally done, and show it to you, so then you just need to copy it into a nicer, prettier version. If you are interested in map drawing, please let me know here or via PM.

UPDATE:
OK! First, thanks so much for all your responses. I so wish I could pick a time that's perfect for everyone, nngh. XD But since I can't, I'm going to have to go with the majority response of spring. At this point I think sign-ups will open sometime within the next week to two weeks, and the game will begin sometime after that (well, obviously, hah). I haven't yet exactly ironed out a date but once I have, I will let everyone know! I'll also post up the sign-up date at least twenty-four hours before sign-ups open so everyone can be prepared.
For now, I've put up a poll! For VILLAGE NAMING. I took the names that most caught my attention from the suggestions list-- or that seemed to most appeal to other people. Poll will be open for at least a couple of days. So get yer votes in, and if you so feel like it, tell us why you voted for that! GET IN THE MAFIA SPIRIT, chyeaah. \o/
Also, I'm looking for an artist type person who would be willing to draw for us a nice town map! Nothing too elaborate, but just something nice with general town landmarks, layout, etc. If you are interested, either post here or PM me. ^__^
Oh-- one last thing. I am trying to figure out some new, interesting roles, but am having a fairly hard time with it. A lot of roles that sound neat are either overpowered or wouldn't really fit in with the RP format. So if any of you have role ideas... suggest them here!

Hello, it's your friendly neighborhood Narrator, back from a nice break of about a year! Ah, the snow is thawing, the flowers are blooming, trees are gaining their leaves-- I mean, for other people. Not where I live. Because there's still six feet on snowpack on the ground here and it's 5F but-- I DIGRESS!
If you don't know what Mafia is, see here for the original, and here for the sequel. They're a lot of fun. They bring the forum together in harmony-- and murder! And this year, I want some opinions from you guys about how it's going to work!
First, the past two Mafias took place during the summer-- May and July. This is good for a lot of people because school's out for summer (school's out forever! *drums*). However, it has also proven bad for other people because summers can be quite busy: vacations, internships, summer jobs, all the stuff that comes with it NOT BEING FIVE DEGREES OUTSIDE, GO AWAY MICHIGAN-- um. AHEM! Sorry there. It also means that if we do it early summer, people are contending with finals; late summer, people are going back to school. Since both games have lasted 6-7 weeks, we end up with this issue no matter if we do it in early or late summer.
The horrible spectacle of Islanding (DONT LOOK FOR IT) has proven that holding forum games over the holidays is not very good. However, I'm not sure if springtime would be so terrible. Of course, people are still in school, and this means busy-- but we've already established that summer comes with its own drawbacks, so there will never be a perfect time for everyone. For some people, during the semester would actually be better than summer for the previously listed reasons. For someone who's planning to get a full time job this summer, I would probably be one of those people.
HOWEVER, I cannot let my own whims rule supreme! Even if it would be fun. So, I thought I'd ask you guys: which would you prefer? Do you want Mafia III to take place during the summer or spring? If it's in summer, it'll likely be early May again, but if it's spring I'm pretty open-- April, late March, mid-March, whatever! 8D Do keep in mind the length. The previous Mafia began in early May and didn't end until mid to late June. The Mafia before that started in early July and didn't end until early August. The length of course is contingent on how fast the mafia dies-- or doesn't die-- but you can expect the game to last anywhere from 2-8 weeks, I'd imagine.
Next question: would the 'wrong decision' (e.g, it being NOT in your preference) impact your ability to participate-- or would one merely be more convenient than the other, and you plan to play no matter what?
The final thing has to do with SUGGESTIONS. As wonderful and creative as village names like Wafflenet and Netwaffle are, they've sort of-- run their course, I do say. This year's setting will be a sleepy wintery village off the sea. A tourist trap in the summertime, what with its great fishing and scenery, but rather more... dead (hah!)... in the winter. What sort of name do you think would fit our lovely murder-y town? Have any ideas? Please propose them here, and when it's time for MAFIA, I shall post up a poll with the best, and we'll decide the village name collectively. =D
Finally, just as a teaser: there will be a twist this year. A very interesting twist, that I'm sure you'll all enjoy (even if it's not a twist for you cos I've been babbling about it in SkypeChat and the like. >__>)
Narrator, OUT!
EDIT - Just to keep things as clean as possible for your POOR CONFUSED NARRATOR, please include the following in your post:
1. Spring or Summer
2. If spring, do you prefer March or April? (Recall, summer would mean early May.)
3. Would the contrary decision impact your ability to participate?
4. Any town name ideas.
And results, thus far (noonish-ish EST, March 5th):
Spring: 9 (so far results tend towards MARCH)
Summer: 5
Septembruary Eleventeenth: 1
