Yoyti, have you ever listened to the Apolo 13 soundtrack? There is one part during the launch sequence where it switches between 2/4 and 3/4, every other measure for a bit, the best I can tell. There's another part where I'm not even sure WHAT the time signature is! I've also played either that 2/4 3/4 combo or a 3/4 4/4 combo in marching band before. And... FOUND it! 6:15 -- 3/4 (best I can tell. Doesn't seem to be 6/8) 7:00 -- NO CLUE. May still be 3/4 with a couple of odd framatas or two. 7:15 ish -- Part that appears to be 2/4 3/4 sequence.

Long stuff. I was just happy for writing one. There are all sorts of crazy bars strung up around music. Pretty Women from Sweeney Todd, the whole opening bit is in 5/8. Oh Happy We from Candide, alternates 4/4 and 3/4 The thing about all these is that they're pretty much seamless. You don't even notice that they're weird times unless you think about it. And, of course, these are part of the overlying architecture of the song. I've done stuff like that before. Of course, it can also be done for effect. The Glamorous Life from A Little Night Music, for a bit alternates 5/8 and 3/4 Next from Pacific Overtures, I haven't looked at the score, but I'm almost certain it skips some beats. The skipped beats make these sound particularly hasty. And, of course, there's Rite of Spring. Good luck making sense of that one. I'm not excited about using funky times, I'm excited about having seamlessly implemented a single 5/4 bar (and later a 6/4 bar) in an otherwise entirely 4/4 piece.

^ Into a 6/8 piece, I threw a 3/8 bar that worked seamlessly, and I almost kept it. But then, closer to the final revision, I deleted that measure and it worked even better. Gloat: Though much around this time of year has changed, I'm glad some tradition stays the same.

A couple of months ago I weighed in at the clinic and found that I had gained 6lbs since I was last in for my transplant evaluation, which is not good since I have to stay at a certain weight in order to be eligible. Well, I weighed in today and found that I had lost about 9lbs! I'm going to keep working to get to my healthiest weight, but it's always so good to see that scale moving in the right direction.

Well, I did it! I completed the Color Run 5K today.
It may have taken me nearly 1 1/2 hours to complete it, and, though I was in the first wave, I may have had people from waves 2, 3, 4 and possibly 5 pass me, but I really don't care. I did it!
A 5K 1 year, 2 months after having hip replacement at age 29. Take THAT medical issues!
I have pictures, but I'm not sure I'm supposed to post them here, since they are pictures of me.

So, there is this episode of Shaun the Sheep where Shaun goes out and buys pizza. Peep loves the show and Shaun, so my dad took her Shaun doll with him to pick up pizza.
Shaun brought Peep pizza and she is so happy. <3
