Mini-Gloats 2

Did you know that you, as an adult, can build a blanket fort to hang out in with your friends any time you like, without asking for permission, and without having to clear it for anyone else because the sitting room is yours? I think more people should be aware of this power.
(Friend movie nights in a blanket fort are very nice.)

Don't know if it counts as a gloat (and I doubt I'll get everything) but I was able to share all of my wishes this year. That includes four dolls, a Care bear and a piece of anime merch that conveniently went on sale but I'll give up in favor of a doll.

Compared to last year, I feel oddly refreshed. Took a lot to just get everything out, but I did it at least ten days before Christmas. Also nice to see that at least one person wasn't as judgmental as I initially assumed.

My sister went to a New Year's Eve party and came back this morning with the party's leftover Chipotle catering. Surprise free food \o/

Just when I thought all hope was lost, I entered a Superstore that had the 2023 Holiday Barbies in stock! It's the only store where they're on sale, and they even have the blonde version that our store sold out of in January (Dolls are overpriced on Amazon.ca, and I doubt they'll ever dip under $30).

Of course I seized the day and nabbed one in time! Spent $32 CDN; a steal for the overpriced Canadians! Of course Mother brought her "stop wasting money" BS, and of course I had to defend my decision to spend my money on what I want. But in the end, this incident didn't leave much trauma, so I can sleep in peace.

I still have a ton of logistics to do, but I no longer have to worry about homelessness.

Less so a gloat and more just something cute, but I walked through a local park the other day and saw a little fairy village set up in a wooded part of it:

I must not walk in that part of the park much, as according to my sister at least, this has been slowly growing over the past year or close to it? But I find that sweet how random people whose paths have crossed are all participating in a cute little project together.

Two gloats in one:

Firstly, I forgot that I'll have a three day weekend thanks to a holiday on Monday, so that's exciting! Apparently my parents will also be out of town over the weekend, so I can go to their house and have free reign of it in peace.

Other thing, but about a month ago I made a rather indulgent purchase on Etsy, one that's handmade and being shipped from basically the other side of the world. Today it finally landed in my city, so now I'm excitedly going back to check its tracking to see if it's any closer >w> Looking forward to finally seeing it in person!

Me bringing back the phone: yes sorry the reason I was on the phone with mum in the middle of work is that we need a fridge

And lo and behold today she has delivered us a new second hand fridge.

She just happened to have too much fridge at the same time we had not enough fridge.
I guess sometimes it is good to ramble about your life at people?!

I got to go kayaking last evening on a lake with some people from work. I've forgotten how much I enjoy being out on the water, even if it's usually in a canoe. It was such a good time.

I have not been able to wear strappy tops without any sleeves since I was 12 due to my chest requiring support. Until now. I bought a cute lavender tank top from Uniqlo with built in support and it is such a gamechanger. I am really happy with how it looks and feels. I also look cute in it. 10/10, would recommend.
