Congrats June Scarlet, that's awesome! Work was hosting an event this evening and needed extra parking, so I got to go home a little early to free up the parking lot, and my boss was nice enough to still give me a full day's work haha.

I just checked on a whim, and!! The comic strip Sherman's Lagoon has been moved to new site!! Earlier this year, it got locked behind a paywall on its old host site. (And tell me that this isn't the most obnoxious paywall screen you've ever seen: ) That's Grimm from Mother Goose and Grimm, and I checked that just to be thorough for this post despite how much I despised this image of him. x'DBut yay!! I unfortunately don't have time tonight to catch up on...seven months of comic backlog, but I'm so excited I'll be able to read Sherman's Lagoon day to day again! =D

I haven't been super active on the forum lately compared to the Discord, but... made it to post #8000! xD
(Just a nice, round number that I managed to catch as it happened, which is this post)

I got a Rubik's cube for Christmas, and I can now solve it with a decent amount of consistency! Now... "decent amount" really just means I don't have to re-scramble every time. It still takes me over 5 minutes if I have to do every step, and my fastest time when I got really lucky with my scramble was still over 3 minutes. So I will never be a speed cuber, but I can solve it! And it's still so satisfying when I do.

I got myself some little chocolate mousse cups last time I was at Costco.
They taste delicious!
Also, They are in glass cups so now I have some little tiny glasses that I plan to put cut flowers in next time I buy flowers.

Purchased 43 bags (13.1 kg) of lebkuchen, my favourite Christmas cookie, at Wal-Mart. Found a stash of them tucked far in the depths of the bakery, took one, checked the price, and rushed back and loaded my basket. All of it came to 96 cents, CAD. And they're still so nice and soft and best before July mmm.

Work mum colleague has returned from sick leave. \o/
First thing she did was reassure me I was doing a good job and got me out of a bad thought spiral. I missed her so much, I am glad she is back and doing okay.

This weekend, I got to see my cousin (technically my cousins' daughter) star as Cinderella at a local college campus. I know I may be biased, but she was absolutely OUTSTANDING, as was the entire production. I was just SO impressed, and loved every minute of it. And it was extra fun seeing my last name in the program. Then I discovered that the choir director at my high school was the music director, which made it even cooler. I was never in choir in high school, but I knew her because I was in band and she and the band director shared an office.

I've been hanging out with some restockers lately and it's been nice. Everyone is honest about their desire to make progress in the game, and empathetic and supportive when you express frustration. I'm also getting to learn many things that I didn't learn back when I studied literature and creative writing. Most of the people who like to restock seem to be computer science geeks, and it's very cool to get a peek into their world.
