Husband got home from work today with surprise Starbucks! I was in the middle of a D&D session, so he just walked in and quietly placed a cup and a plate with a chocolate croissant in front of me. It was super sweet! He's always so thoughtful and I'm so grateful for him <3
(It was a Pumpkin Spice Latte, because it's the season, after all XD)

I'm turning thirty soon.
I am so looking forward to my thirties. I have an independent life, money, stability, a happy relationship, knowledge of who I am, and confidence. Oh my goodness, the confidence.
Everyone says teens and twenties are the best years of your life. They can go eat rocks. I had rough time, and I am finally getting out of it. Bring on the thirties!
And my friends the same age all agree. Down with the anti-thirty propaganda machine.

So, I received a surprise phone call Friday.
"We would like to offer you this position."
This permanent position. With a living wage. A multi-thousand-dollar moving package. And paid sick leave/vacation. Happy is an understatement. I am almost to tears with joy. (Oh, the tears will come, probably after I sign the offer letter they'll be sending next week).
Finally. It's been such a long, hard road. So happy to see things starting to take a positive turn.

I personally had a little crisis when I was about to turn 30 (partly because in my case I had nothing to show for it, tbh XD; ) BUT as soon as that countdown got to 0 and nothing exploded... I can't describe the sense of relief and freedom I got. Being 30+ is awesome!!
I started going to therapy literally a week after my 30th birthday, and even though I wish I had gone much sooner, it was such a great start to a new life stage for me.
Can't wait to see what your 30s have in store for you, but I'm excited for you, and so happy you're excited for yourself as well! It makes me so happy when people say that, because if I could go back, that's what I'd tell myself too.

Also 30+ here (32 to be exact, turning 33 in a little more than a month ^^) and I can vouch for the 30s being better than the 20s. I went through so much anxiety and self-doubt in my twenties. I am still figuring things out, but I definitely feel like I've moved past the darkest times.

Despite being overweight, not living the model of a healthy lifestyle, and having a health condition which puts me at risk of various garbage, based on my blood pressure and blood tests, I have been given a clean bill of health. No medical concerns.

Barring any weird weather-related shenanigans or other life crap, my family should be coming over to visit us between Christmas and heading off to Japan. c: I am really excited. I miss my folks, and I really want to show the new place to them, as flawed and not-unpacked as it may be. It makes me feel like a Proper Adult, like I've really made it.

So given my last post in the "mini-rants" thread, I feel an update is due. My mom is doing SO much better. She's doing basically everything she used to do, just with a walker. Well, I mean minus walking 3 to 5 miles a day. But I went back to work this past week (I was able to stay home with her for 5 weeks with full pay) and she did fine at home, and even still had dinner ready for my brother and me when we got home from work. My mom just amazes me sometimes. When her physical therapist asked her a couple of weeks ago (when I was still home with her) if she was getting up to walk at least every one to two hours, we both just laughed, because it was almost the opposite. And she's only improved since then! Still a bit hard for me to see her need a walker to get around, but her improvement has made me smile for sure!
