Borderlands 1 is free for PS Plus users, so I'm going to give it a whirl. For the most part I loaaaathe FPS's, but free's free, so it can't hurt to try. :3

Borderlands is a bit different compared to most FPS's, since it has the RPG aspects in the game. So it's a good for people who don't normally play FPS games XD Plus the story and dialog in the game are just great and stupid all at the same time XD

Yeah, I get the RPG concept, which is fine. It's the first-person part that I don't often enjoy (usually the motion-sickness part). Also if I've got to use cover, I'm dooooooomed. :B
(Will try it tomorrow, because downloading is slowwww)

No cover in the game XD Well, no real cover. You can crouch or stand behind things.

XDDD LA Noire: "No! Get behind the car! Wait, no, don't turn the corner! Get away from the headlights!! You're out in the open, why are you still stuck to the car? I'm pressing the button, WHY CAN'T I SHOOT??"

Is it similar to Mass Effect in gameplay, then? The best comparison might be to action RPGs like Diablo or Torchlight. I'm having a good time with Borderlands 2 so far. The gluttonous thresher is giving me the business, though. I really appreciate all the small but convenient changes they've made, like the ability to favorite items or mark them for later sale. The part where you rescue Roland from Handsome Jack's army of robots was incredibly fun and intense. Dang what a lot of enemies.
Also, I loved Tiny Tina. I actually was having a discussion with someone who hadn't played the game about how her dialogue was a mix of normal little girl nonsense and sort of bizarre, overly sexualized stuff. I mentioned that I thought it drove home the fact that she's mostly been raised by and around mercenaries, and was emulating them the best she could. They were like "wow, that's some deep characterization for a video game". And I realized that I have no idea how much of that was really implied and how much of that I was projecting on to her.

I can't wait to get to Tiny Tina. She's voiced by Ashley Berch from HAWP (Hey Ash Whatcha Playing?) and the game is written by her brother Anthony XD
I only got as far as a few missions in Sanctuary. Knowing my luck, I'm not getting the game until Monday or Tuesday -_- First time Amazon has been so lazy at delivering a package to me. (normally use Free Shipping and still get it the day of or within the first few days of release).

So to keep this thread breathing, I'll pitch in a question. What games are home to your favorite video game music? My favorite Ost is the soundtrack from the first spyro game, but some of my favorite themes from games come from the kirby series. I included some of my favorite tunes in these here spoilers
Best part about smash bros is that they did some pretty amazing remixes

Most Final Fantasy games have awesome music. Bastion is another good game. There are probably a few more, but those are the two that pop up in my head first.

Dragonseeds has 100% awesome music.
Dynasty Warriors, Sonic Adventure 2, Street Fighter, Smash Bros Brawl and Siren all have good soundtracks.

Zelda! Also Final Fantasy, SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Ace Attorney, Braid, Xenoblade Chronicles... I'm sure there's more, but I'm forgetting.

I'm a bit reluctant to start posting here because I seem to be a minority 0_o;
Mostly into Guild Wars 2 and Nintendo (particularly, almost exclusively, Pokemon, seconding Legend of Zelda and a bit of Mario), probably influenced by the fact that my gaming "prime" was during the N64/GC/GBC/GBA era.
Favorite OST: any of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, followed by most of the LoZ games. And of course, by extension, SSB:B.
(track from the second set of PMD games which is a mix/remix of several dungeons from the first set) (LoZ and SSB:B mix so well)
(Honestly I prefer GW1's soundtrack, if for no other reason than nostalgia.)

The LostWinds series has really pretty music. So does Knytt and Knytt Stories. Cave Story has some really gorgeous music too, in a chiptuney kind of way. Finally, I'm not sure if this counts because it's an MMO, but Maplestory has the prettiest video game music I've ever heard.

Actually, it may be 'dead' at the moment, but here, there is a Pokemon club, so know that you're not in the minority, Coaster. In fact, a lot of us are fans of Pokemon.
