So now that the tripthread has been archived, we need a proper update.
Hunty and I have been talking about what to do after the trip was over since around November of last year. We liked the idea of going back to get Master's degrees, and hoped to do so together. We each applied to three US grad schools. I got accepted to two of them...and Hunty got turned down from all three.
We didn't let that keep us down, of course. We kept looking around, and found that Hunty's old university actually has a very good program for what I'm trying to study. The problem was, by the time I got around to applying, I was 5 days past the deadline.
Once again, we pressed on undaunted. I emailed the university with my credentials, and Hunty's mom pulled some sort of arcane magic and spoke to the head of the department. They held a meeting, and decided to let me apply late. And now, just a matter of minutes ago, I got an acceptance email from them.
This is especially good, because I already had a flight booked. And Hunty has been looking into apartments. Long story short: I'll be going to the same university that Hunty got her bachelor's degree from. She'll work while I study. The program should be 1 year, but it might be longer since I need to take a few prerequisites as well. Once I get the degree, we'll both head to Denmark, and Hunty will go to a university there (for free!), while I work.
Things are looking pretty good right now.
