I don't mind the British spelling on the site, or in stories. But then again, I'm Chinese, and my school uses British spelling. Don't laugh. I can't tell the difference between 'centre' and 'center'. I can never remember which is American and which is British. Let's just say at school I once wrote centre/center as the American spelling, and my teacher said it was wrong That annoyed me.

................... I'm a Canadian... and it's nice that you're kind of feeling sorry for writing that article (at least that's what I think...) but umm, it has a reason to not be published! Anyways, I suppose you should keep writing, but don't be so offensive next time...!

At the risk of reviving a potentially controversial issue, this is the first time I have managed to find time to get to this board and read the replies to this thread (that's the trouble with checking the boards in the order they appear on the index, I suppose). I tried to just pass by but I was so annoyed by all that I read that I couldn't. Despite that, I am going to bite my tongue on most of the things I would like to say in the interest of keeping the peace, and simply offer a couple of brief comments that will hopefully settle my need to say something without setting off too many tempers: 1. As the issue of British vs. American spelling has not only been discussed here as well as elsewhere in this forum, perhaps the issue should be permanently put to rest, as there will never be an agreement upon it. Personally, I do not understand why it causes such a fuss, but it does, so... 2. Stoneman3x - You did not tick the entire planet off, though my reason for not being angered with you are different then Leb's (mostly because I just took the article as a way to let off steam and found it amusing and could care less about which spelling is used, whereas Leb, I believe, agrees that the spellings should be American). Anyways, I suppose you should keep writing, but don't be so offensive next time...! Suppose? Well, I think he definitely should (and I know from the last issue of the Times (week 68), as well as the upcoming issue (at least, according to the peek ahead), he has) continue to write. He is one of the few article writers that I regularly look forward to reading, simply because I enjoy his sense of humor and writing style. I have a lot more I could say, but won't. Let sleeping dogs lie, as they say.

Thank you for noticing it was a rant, not a legitimate article, and I did mean to be humourous (did I speel that rite?) and at the time it never occurred to me that those who use British spellings wouldn't realize I was joking. Anyway, I didn't get frozen-- I just didn't get that particular piece of fluff published. I haven't been to this board to even check responses in a month-- I was really shocked to discover that people were still making comments! Okay... this dog is going to sleep now...

Well, those of you who hated this article will be pleased to know that my first story series, that I spent over a month writing has also been rejected. So the title of this thread is now officially incorrect. I do not have a clue why it was rejected. It was not any different than my "Never Spend Halloween With a Lupe" short story-- but only longer, obviously.

They can't freeze people's accounts because the person has differing opinions than theirs or they spell words differently. That's discrimination. It's bad!
They can only not publish it. That's all.
