I'm trying NaNo out for the first time this year, even though I've known about it for the past six. I'm primarily doing it as a worldbuilding exercise for a science fiction comic that I have in the works. (It'll be a few years yet until I start scripting it out, much less drawing it.) My NaNo will essentially be a kind of prequel to the comic.
I'm excited, but also a bit terrified. This will be the first time I've written any lengthy prose in several years. I usually stick to comic scripts. I only hope that the finished product is not completely boring to read. XD
Oh, and hello, everyone. It's been a while hasn't it. =)

... *scare chord* Anyone else just feel a wave of terror sweeping the planet, or was it just me? no it was not just you trust me i think everyone heard that scare chord just now I missed it yesterday but it swept back around with a bit of extra punch to catch me. I am so relieved to know that I am not the only one who is wildly unprepared for this. This which is happening the day after tomorrow and I am so not ready and I need to go plan right now instead of reading everyone else's awesome ideas and making run-on sentences about how unready I am.

Not ready.... AT ALL! My characters... CRAP I DON'T HAVE ANY. I mean I do, but just a vague idea of them, and my plot so many holes and none of it makes senses and... Well, this is gonna be fun.

A potentially major character only joined the show two days ago. And is basically identical to my main character. But insists on being part of the book anyway. Also, one of my other main characters was drastically redone today.
Also, for me NaNo starts tomorrow.
... I win at the I-AM-NOT-PREPAAAAARED thing. xD

Pretty much the same thing here. I was trying to figure out the origin of a major plot element, and my brain said: ...Which is not such a bad thing, fits my genre and all. But now there's an alien chick with an ever-changing name being somewhat redundant with Priscilla, being really hard to handle yet being all unremovable because she now ties the whole plot together, and arrrgggh *chews laptop* ...but yes. Last-minute, huge plot changes. Eeep. >.> |
