I think I might be able to, if they were torturing/attacking me and I had literally no other option of escape.
Otherwise, nah.

I don't know if I'd actually have the guts to kill someone if it came right down to it, but I would definitely fight back to protect myself and/or others if I had to.
(In theory, at least. I'm actually pretty terrible at attacking things so I'm not sure I'd do very well in a dire situation. XD;)

I always ask myself this question...thought it'd be something nice to share thoughts and discuss. (Feel free to move or delete this topic, ok mods? Sorry for the trouble!) What if the person responsible for, like for example, death and starvation in some countries is in front of you, would you kill him/her? You know this person is the one who sells armory to people, eventually s/he causes civil war and fight for food or water. Would you kill her/him? Replying because I haven't yet, and I felt like participating. Well, I would certainly try my best to subdue the individual, because I can't allow such ruthlessness to continue. Kill? I'm sorry, but there really needs to be more context to the situation on why I would need to kill him/her. If you're asking if I would be so enraged to the point of murder upon having such an individual before me, then no. I have better sense and control of my emotions than that. If I was attacked or threatened, then you have the proper context of a situation where it might occur. But no, I wouldn't kill a horrible person if they were before me. There are other options than that, and I reserve my right to use them.

I do admit, though, to being thoroughly irritated by fictional characters who choose that path, because somehow, somewhen, the villian always escapes (unless it's within the last 20 pages of the book.)

killing someone seems like it takes more effort and contemplation than it's worth. i don't believe it is up to me to be the hero, so i'm not going to go out of my way to stop all that isn't right with the world, especially when most of it doesn't affect me directly or indirectly and never will. that isn't to say i don't think it's wrong, but it doesn't concern me.
it's not really a matter of moral conflict, at least not for me. i just don't see why it would ever be necessary. that being said i don't think i would regret removing a major source of suffering from the world.
