Don't think I'm gonna be up for planning an Elaborate Thanksgiving thing, even solo. (There's one solo dish I like, but it's kind of elaborate and time consuming, and I'm just not feeling it.)
I was kinda sad about not having those kind of noms this year. But then I realized that really good soup exists and is relatively easy enough that I could do that. And I bought dinner rolls to make it Special. Maybe that will be enough.

After a month of crying and constant anxiety, I FINALLY got my wretched computer to accept the latest Windows updates!
Now I can spend the rest of the month resting and breathing.

A playlist of children’s songs was on for Nieceling today, and I heard “Down by the Bay” for the first time. XD It’s so catchy and fun, and I can’t believe I’ve never heard it before?? And also I find it kinda hilarious that the singer is like, “Oh, I can never go home again........ because my mother will sing fun lil rhymes at me, weeee~ *chipper chorus*” XD

My sister invited me to see Wish today, and because I'd been curious about it, I went ahead and saw it with her.
Knowing it'd be full of easter eggs from other Disney movies as part of their 100 year celebration, I brought a pen and paper with me as a little game to try and mark down all the references I noticed. Literally the first thing I wrote as the movie opened with a narrated book of fairy tales was "SHREK???"

I finally pulled a band-aid off and asked somebody to get me a 2023 Holiday Barbie.
Don't know if it'll lead to nay future drama and yelling, but I did it. I finally told somebody what I would like to get; now I just need to sort out the other three items, but for now I made some progress.

Old memory time!
Back when I went away to college, my new roommate and I were shopping for some last-minute supplies before we started the new semester. And we needed coasters to protect the table. Coasters were expensive, however, right next to the display of table coasters was a small display of free CDs! We took some free CDs and used them as coasters instead, haha. It's just funny, like they almost expected people to use the promotional CDs as nothing more than a coaster.

Happy Winter Solstice, all! Technically the time of maximum has passed, but you can still enjoy the night and the following day!

Took a sneak peek into 2024 and there a couple of interesting overlaps:
Easter Monday and April Fools Day share a date.
Hanukkah will begin on Christmas.

Wait, how and when did the negative Millennial stereotype suddenly go from "whiny entitled kids" to "cringe dying elderly"

I really don't understand it when people say "I wish I was a child again, being an adult sucks!"
Well, okay, I do kind of. Paying bills and going to work and being lonely does suck. But that statement tells me you had a happy childhood.
I don't miss being frightened of my own shadow. I don't miss the lack of control over my own life. I don't miss having no grip on my mental health issues. If going to work and paying bills and everything else that comes with adulthood means I can control the direction of my life, get my mind together, and be treated like a person, then hell, give me the work and the bills!
Being an adult isn't a walk in the park. But it is truly, amazingly liberating.
