Time tends to run faster for me in general these days now that I have a job and adult responsibilities, but September by far has felt like the shortest month of this year. Once I finished start-of-the-month tasks for work, it was already mid-September, and now we’re already partway through the second-to-last week.

Glad the humidity is finally gone! More sweaters, less stinkbugs! last year, the warm weather lasted all the way to October.

October 2nd will be my sixteenth forum anniversary.
It is also the day when the long-anticipated Faerie Festival event is scheduled to start on Neopets, after a years-long content drought.
October 3rd is the day of my students' first midterm exam.
Why does everything have to happen all at once aaaaahhhh

Sometimes you stumble upon the wildest, most nihilistic forums on Reddit and have to look out a window to remind yourself of the outside world and that your life is okay to live xD

Though, yeah, Reddit can be a cesspit that exposes me to the worst of humanity. I have to constantly remind myself that happy people don't post on Reddit. >>

And I mean, I do find hobby subreddits to actually be a lot of fun (r/polymerclay and r/rockhounding are two I really enjoy) and there are some great reference subreddits for when you want to e.g. identify an antique or a bug. But now that they've implemented the algorithmic home feed you still get exposed to the batcrap insane ones whether you want to or not. xDDD; Badbadbad.

I am not active on Reddit at all. (Don't even have an account. xD)
I only learn of Reddit posts that are relevant to me through sources that I trust on Discord.

Reddit amazingly wasn't the one that recommended me this subreddit actually, since it usually is the algorithm that puts the most random and wild subreddits in front of me xD Instead I was looking at a completely unrelated post where somebody in the comments offhandedly mentioned that other subreddit, and curiosity got the best of me lol.
But even in general, enough perusing of Reddit regardless of forum can lead me to a bad or existential mood xD I don't know why I do this to myself since I can be easily affected by that kind of talk you often find on the site, but I need to reign myself in lol.

Ah, yeah, I am aware of that one. I don't want my own kids, and even I think those folks are crazy. r/childfree can also be along the same vein, but more dedicated to just hating on kids and their parents. Honestly, same. I find Reddit to be a good timewaster, but it always exposes me to the worst of humanity, and I find my trust and love for people, even those I am close to, eroded away, leaving me feeling unhappy. I really need to try a better thing to do when I am in a queue or waiting for a train that isn't such a drain on my soul.

"So This is the Thanks I Get?!" from Wish is such a bop of a song, like a cross between "Mother Knows Best" from Tangled, and "You're Welcome" from Moana.

When I was going to get groceries yesterday, a little boy poked his head out of a car that was riding past and yelled "HELLO" at me. I waved back and thought "yes, this is the sort of dudes yelling out of cars I can get behind". Because it was kinda wholesome.
Coming out of the shop, a car drives by me and I hear a wolf whistle out of a car. My reaction was just confusion. Not weird or gross, just confused. Because 1) Was that directed at me or at the other woman passing by? and 2) Dude, wth? She has a pram and I'm not exactly conventionally attractive. You okay?
Just amused that this happened to me almost at exactly the same place. xD
