Heh. Half a thousand issues, eh? I'm definitely going to do something special, but I don't really know what yet. Last couple of 50s I did Team Squad Force collabs with Fish and Abra, but I haven't heard much from them lately, so I don't know if they're up for a third year. *jumps* Team Squad Force? That collab was really well done the last few years. Actually, if you happen to miss a third contender, I'd be very happy to have a crack at drawing in one of them. That is, if no one minds. ^_^ Hmm. I did have a certain thing planned for this issue, but it's not going too well yet and it's not really that 500-themed... I can guarantee it won't be a multipart comic series this year though. |

Guys, quick question. Looking at issue 400, I see a lot of the works that got in were specifically issue-400-themed, or otherwise neopian-times related in their subject matter. Do I need to have something similarly themed to have a decent chance, or will I do just as well with an unrelated submission? Nope! Please just send in something you are proud of. It does not have to be about Issue 500 or the Neopian Times. Oh. Well, I was very wrong then, wasn't I? *open mouth, insert foot* :B Heh. Half a thousand issues, eh? I'll send some dA notes to Fish and Abra and see if they're still up for a TSF or not, and if not if they're okay either changing the team up or letting you use Mad or Emsohl. :3 It would be pretty awesome if we could continue TSF for another year. 8D |

Not a grand villain, more like a wannabe which totally fails at his byzantine plots, or unknowingly foils the plot of the real villain, or gets trampled along the way. =D |

I'm more or less lurking, since I'm terribly interested in what's going on in the 500th issue. I've been busily editing a story for the 500th issue, not to mention an article that I still have to edit and get ready to submit.
My Mind: "Get to work slacker"
Me: "But. But... There are two more exams to go" ;_;
*Sighs* Daily struggle.

June 24th. That means Issue 500 comes out a good time after my blasted college entrance exams!
Alright. I'm totally going to give this a shot. A short story about an unfortunate Neopet turning into a Shadow. (Yes, those poor shadows we kept obliterating in the Faerie Ruins plot.) It's going to have a thousand line breaks and neverending run-ons in a wannabe "stream of consciousness" style. It will be a miserable thing that starves for a plot, and makes everyone's eyes bleed...or just Droplet's.
/end rant.

Eh. I can't really think of anything special to do. I suppose I could write a Whitney Tungsten story, but I've only gotten one of his stories into the NT so far, and besides. He's an agent of the opera. Not a writer or editor or publisher or anything like that.
I guess I'll just hope one of my stories lands on that issue.
EDIT: I'll try to get my article on writing perspective into that issue. It's an article/story hybrid, which tells the story of writing the article in the form of a lesson about first vs second and third persons, as well as the past, present and future tenses, while at the same time transitioning between the tenses. Somewhat complicated, but I'm rather proud of it.

Hmmm, when would be an appropriate time to submit our 500 entries anyways? (I think I ask this question to someone almost EVERY TIME.) XD

I have my sister and I's comic ready for the 500th issue.. *nervous* It's the same as last year's but with additional panels and cleaned up a lot  It's 9 panels long and a little different to what we have done in the past but I really like it and think it's funny so hopefully it gets in! I'm going to submit it in 3-4 weeks time and I'm so nervous about it :/ It would be *amazing* to get into the 500th issue! It would also be my 15th time getting published which would be great! |

I just finished part 6 out of 7 of my comic arc starting from the golden issue. cx Just one more to go, plus an Altador-Cup comic, and I'm ready!

I've a five part comic I'm actually starting in /pencils/. So it's gonna be awesome. I just need it to end right after 500, though, so I might have an extra week. I'm finishing it by 94, though.  *cannot miss out on this'n* |
