Did anyone say... GRIFFINSTONE?! I friggin love griffins. But I'll be pretty honest, the entire "kingdom" turned out a bit of a disappointment (as intended). I just hope we get to see it again someday restored to its former glory - and that we meet more griffins (perhaps someone who is not a bully). Nonetheless, the episode was super enjoyable. The character design looked great - the extra griffins didn't even have any lines, but who cares? They look fab and someone who dresses like that needs no words - Pinkie Pie and Raibow Dash are always a good mix, Gilda's redemption was dreadfully overdue and Twilight's geekness is just adorable. So far, this season has been more than satisfying. It's been tackling issues that have always been hanging in the air (cutie mark crusaders *cough*), more songs, new locations and old characters making glorious comebacks. It's been a good year so far. Very good. For the record, no one said that word. Go home, you're hearing things. Joking aside. Yeah it was a pretty decent episode. Probably not my favorite, but it was good.
I was waiting for Gilda's return, and this was a good place. Though those scones she was making seemed a bit... Terrible XD I don't think some powder sugar was going to really fix them XD
This season in general, I've been liking. Especially a full Discord episode XD

I thought everyone had forgotten about this show! :'D So far I have mixed feelings on the new stuff. The premiere seemed kind of average to me, more like a random episode than an important one. Of course, it's very hard to top the finale of the previous season. I'm glad that they used the musical number to show the creepiness of the town, this time. Musical numbers always creep me out. Creepy equal pony town is one of the only settings where musical numbers can realistically happen. Number 3 was a bit better despite the singing, the character interaction was more like it. 4 and 5 went all out on the feels. Excellent, episodes like these make me love the series. 6 - hmm, not as good as the previous two, still cute. 7 - well, Discord/Fluttershy is always good, but this episode felt more forced and rushed to me... Smoozy was adorable, but seemed a little out of place to me for some reason. I liked Treehugger, they managed to make her stereotypical but not annoying at all. 8 - Felt kind of forced again, but I'm glad they brought back Gilda and answered questions and did worldbuilding.

Doing research, the fun thing about Smooze, is that it was a classic MLP villain from the first gen. In that time it was a giant devouring purple mass of hatred though (partially what Grimer and Muk are based on in Pokemon).

Smooze was created by witches and destroyed by a rainbow. I watched that movie some time ago, it was pretty good.

It's fan stuff like this (the music, and now an animated accompaniment) that explains why I even bother to enjoy this series. It really does bring out the best in people.

Finally caught up on Season 5. Can I just say that I love that MLP tackled the evils of communism in their season premiere? XD Kind of unexpected, but totally awesome.

I loved episode 100. That was just great to me XD Derpy got a speaking role again, though in credits was labeled as Muffin.
Doctor Whooves had a role, (labeled as Doctor in credits). And he acted very Doctor like which was great, plus had several Doctor easter eggs.
Octavia and Vinyl Scratch XD Lyra and Bonbon XD Buttonmash, random changling, it was one thing after another XD

Haven't commented here in a while. So, that big episode 9/100/Slice of Life. It's not one of those I would watch again. Plenty of fanservice for sure, they know what the fans want, but it didn't seem that well structured to me. Never has the phrase "best friends" made me roll my eyes so much. x3 Very happy to see Stephen Magnet. I liked the Celestia/Luna moment too. Yay for bringing back minor characters instead of leaving them to rot in the dungeons of past episodes! Episode 10/101/Princess Spike Still not one I'd watch again. (I'm difficult >_> That's because the show can have really good episodes!) It was interesting to see Twilight's princess duties and Equestrian politics worldbuilding stuff. But after all the episodes, I thought Spike would have matured more than that. o.o Episode 11/102: Not my favourite kind of episode, but good in its way. The yaks' gag got tiring after a while. Some commentors seemed to think they were an offensive stereotype; I didn't. It's good to see a bit more worldbuilding, even if it doesn't seem serious. What I liked was Pinkie's travelling (oh hello, Cherry Jubilee) and the revelation of the work she puts into party planning. The whole sliding all the way back to square one seemed... too easy, but eh, it fits the general tone of the episode. Episode 12/103/Amending Fences Ah, that's more like it. Other shows might have completely ignored the brief mention of Twilight's old friends from the pilot episode, but I'm so glad they got revisited. Yay for continuity! It's interesting to see what Twilight could have become. Also, yay for more advanced magic and proof that she's still learning new stuff! I'm wondering who owned her previous flat/library thing in Canterlot, though, and why it hasn't been used for anything since. I like how they explained these background ponies' presence in both Canterlot and Ponyville and lampshaded how Twilight never notices. I like how it wasn't instant perfect friendship between Twi and Minuette/Lemon Hearts/Twinkleshine/Lyra, they seemed awkward at first, fawning over the princes, and then they clicked more naturally. Also, feels. ;w; StarlightGlimmerStarlightGlimmerStarlightGlimmerStarlightGlimmerStarlightGlimmerStarlightGlimmer Episode 13/104/Do Princesses Dream YES YEEEEEEEEES Now THIS is what I call an episode! Starring the best pony of all, with magic and a great message and FEELS It handled the fanservice better than episode 100 in my opinion. So many references. Dream adventures are really convenient for that. I love how Luna makes her entrance in each dream scene. Fluttershy's dream was interesting. And Dashie's nightmare. *snickers* Scenes with Rarity and Luna are why Tabitha St. Germain is my favourite voice actress. SAILOR BIG MAC PLZ!!! *w* And Flutterbaaaat <3 Gorgeous ending. This is an episode I can watch over and over again.

I'm still squeeing over episode 100 >.> I keep finding little things in it I didn't notice before XD Like the quick frame of pony staff all wearing horse heads...
Or The Big Lebowski ponies that were talking to Doctor Whooves. At the end, Donny was missing. (you would understand if you watched the movie, which is nsfw, just saying).
And a number of other little things XD
Still probably one of my favorites. -- Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep. I like this one for the title, since it's a parody of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Which was the basis for the movie Blade Runner. And I got to love me a Luna episode. Luna episodes are like Discord episodes for me. Got to love them.

Episode 13: Do Princesses Dream of Sheep I'm late to watching this because I didn't know there was an episode 13 buuuut... Princess/Sailor Big Mac was the highlight of the season. Oh my god, I went back and watched the clip several times to make sure it was what it was, and then a few more just out of pure amusement.

*watches Season 5 in two days* Pretty much agreed with most of what was said already. And, of course, the speakermobile sequence cements Episode 100 as the most "wut" in the series. Even more than the episode where there were dozens of Pinkie Pies. And the dream-emergence of Sailor Big Mac in the latest episode. And the one where Twilight thinks she's been visited by future-dystopian self. And the...
Regardless, it was nice to see a bunch of the background ponies getting some spotlight (as the tremendously cheesy wedding speech said outright) even if it did go quite overboard in a couple sections.
