I've done what I can to prepare. =D I've completed as many school projects and assignments as I can finish ahead of time. I have all of my main plot points lined up and in a row, because my attempts to wing it have ended with me staring at the screen trying to think of something to write, and I thought this year I'd get all my thinking done in October. =D I still need a title for my NaNo though. xD Call it 'A Chronicle of Mad Genius #5743' or something like that. xD ..as a working title, at least. Um. Yes. xD ...NaNo shall soon begin. I'm planning on writing at least 10k on the first day, just 'cause I know I can and it'll be nice to have that sort of cushion. ^_^ ..I have no idea what I'll write, but I'll manage somehow. It is NaNo, after all.

10k per day? Wow, my muse would book a constant vacation if I attempted that. I'm happy if I can get her to write 2k. So I have agreed with her that we try for 2k per day till the story is finished.
Titles are always something I am really bad at. My working titles are usually either the occassion I write the story for (like qw13 (name of a small competition) or fich-advent or like this year which will be fich-NY), main character or setting of the story.

And even I am not crazy enough to try doing 10k in a day more often than once or twice a week. Namely on weekends and maybe Wednesday. But yeah. I have fun with titles, even if I only really think up good ones after I've written part of the story. Maestro is one of the lamer titles I've ever stuck with for an extended period of time.

So, is everyone ready? XD Not even close, but I don't mind, particularly; plot's a weakness of mine, and if you can knit even the semblance of a plot when you're writing quickfast because you only have ten minutes left before school and revision after that, then you can knit one any time. Soyes. Perhaps a heroic 'Ready as I'll ever be!' would be best suited here. =D I have bought some delicious Trade Aid dark chocolate, which is sitting in my nook in the fridge in a plastic bag labeled 'Writing Chocolate =D'. I also have a bag of marshmallows. Just in case.

WAIT when does it start? XD Does it start at the same time for everyone, or just when your timezone reaches midnight? ^_^;

Well, it says that we should set the timezones for where we live. That way, there's less confusion.
I'm not entirely ready myself, since my plot framework isn't the greatest, but it's pretty good right now. I probably won't write a day's worth of words in the short time I'll be writing after midnight, but I'll probably get something down. ^_^

Ah, okay, thanks! So I still have 3 hours to do a little more plotting and such...neat. I don't think I'll get very far tonight either, but I want to at least get something down.

Good luck to everyone who participates this year. I really wish I could but I really don't think I'd have the time but I'll try and follow along with everyone's progress and encourage people when they're down. So once again, good luck. It's 5 minutes til start time where I am, so I assume some of you are starting soonish.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
It's 3:30 even after DST. I'm going to sleep now.
But NaNoWriMo has linked to TV Tropes on their front page this year. They know my weakness! D:

I'm having a lot of fun with the writing already. I've already written a lot (for me). I hope this enthusiasm continues for the whole 50,000 words. It's really late here too, which means bed for me as well.

Ha! I already have the first page done! I may change the beginning, as I think it's too weak for the plotline, but it'll work for now, as I was struggling just to figure out where to begin. Of course, the looming Daylight Savings Time worried me for a moment, but that may not be until 2 in the morning, so no worries about it being 12:00 and then suddenly 11:00 again.

I can MSN on occasion. I can't right now though, since I'm about to go to bed. I'm a loser who likes sleep. I just wrote about 1.20 pages just from midnight, excluding the title page. I'm at 538 words. Pretty good start, really, even though I left it in mid-conversation.

Was at the kick-off meeting yesterday in my hometown. Out of the 9 potential people to come, five did show up (one had said in advance that they would be late because of work, but they did not show up, perhaps because the subway was not going as usual). It was fun. A great variety, 3 male, 2 female, youngest is 17, eldest ist 47. And we have all kinds of stories, Love novels (perhaps with drama), pirates, fantasy and social. Really interesting. Plus I learnt a new card game . We'll meet again in two weeks to see how we are doing. We didn't stay for write-in though, as each of us preferred to be at home for this. I only stayed up long enough to write the first hundred words, before heading to bed as I needed to get up before eight in the morning to finally catch the Haunted Woods sidebar at Neo. Now I have to do the ironing first, before I allow myself to write.
