Maaan I wish my university had a group. XD Or at least the city my university is in, come on. But no. I think our writing group is doing some stuff for it, though, soooo. That at least should be fun~

I think there's a group for my city, but there weren't many people in it last year, IIRC. XD; So nothing really happened in it.

xD; So apparently Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is a hotspot of writerly activity? You have no idea how amused I am by this.
...But yeah, the Edmonton group has over 600 members right now. >.>;

My region is actually fairly spread out. And even though our MLs are both in the big city in the middle of the region, there's going to be a bunch of more local write-ins, because it's not practical for a lot of people to drive up to an hour or so just to get to write-ins. So I'll probably go to some local ones, since those'll be easy to get to. My roommate doesn't want me to go to any, since apparently anyone on the internet is actually intent on murdering me, but I think I can handle one in a city I'm quite familiar with, in a public place, without having her get too upset with me. And then when I don't, y'know, die or something, she might be more chill about it. I know she's just trying to look out for me, but I think she overreacts a little too much.

*Revives* Hey, not sure if anybody's seen this on the NaNo homepage- but apparently, you can help "fund raise" by using GoodSearch, a Yahoo Search Engine that allows you to donate to certain charities just by searching for stuff. As a rampant Google user, I'm finding this thing ridiculously helpful (...it's also convenient "Google" and "GoodSearch" start with the same two letters XD) Erm...my little dropdown box only has one organization, but if yours has more and you're looking to donate to NaNoWriMo, select "Office of Letters and Light (Oakland CA).

Ooh, yeah! I have that bookmarked, but I always forget to use it because the Google search bar is up in the corner of my browsing window, and I can't take it off unless I want to lose the address bar! But hopefully your reminder will help. In other news, I went to my first meeting-thing ever for NaNo! My region did a meet and greet lunch sort of thing, and it was pretty cool, even though I was late. I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to go at all, but I ended up basically down the street, so I figured I should go check it out. There was a pretty good turn out (around 30 people, I think!), and it was really cool too see a bunch of other NaNoers IRL, and the wide array of people it attracts. Plus it got me really excited to go to some write-ins come November!

I remember when I first started as an ML for Central NJ, Edmonton was a region to aspire too. Edmonton and Napersville had GREAT MLs. Oh man...and Seattle? The Nano community is CRAZY there. Now I think I might have one of those "yay" regions. We're not thaaaaat big but we've got enthusiastic writers.

I'm so looking forward to the upcoming Saturday. Though my region comprises of all German-speaking European countries, I discovered that there are actually five other people in my hometown, so we are going to meet on Saturday afternoon as Kick-off get-together. It will be great meeting other people crazy enough to sign up for something like NaNo.

So, is everyone ready? XD
I'm half-tempted to try again... but then I remember that I'm lazy, and how badly my only NaNo attempt went last year. XD

I am totally excited =D
...However, I have a non-NaNo oriented writing club meeting Sunday, starting at noon, and probably going till about ten PM D= I'm thinking I'm going to skip my walk, so I have plenty of time to last-minute-ly clean up the house, and still get my 1,667 words in (or however many it is...but I think that's right). Shouldn't be too big a problem, since I'm walking a considerably greater distance than usual with my friends on Saturday XD

I'm as ready as I'll ever be, which admittedly isn't much. Though I have to admit, with so much on my plate this year I'm kind of worried that I won't finish this. But what is NaNoWriMo other than an insane sleepless sugar rush? xD
So, does everyone have their plots all planned out and tidy or are you just going to be writing on the fly? ^^

Same here, Celestial, with the busy-ness XD November is like crunch-month for everything!
I've got my novel partially planned. I'm leaving an enormous chunk of it unplanned this year, though. I do like being surprised, so my plotlines are always somewhat ambiguous. But I have the beginning pretty much set, and I'll probably end up expanding the plot as I go along. I do like having some idea of where the next few chapters are heading, even if I don't know exactly what's coming after that point.
So...combination of both tidy planning and seat-of-the-pants, I guess? XD

I have only the beginning planned. My muse constantly tells me that she has everthing planned and will tell me as we write. I just have to trust her. At least I now have names and age of my main characters.

I completely agree about the busy thing; I think my strategy this year is going to be a lot of frantic-writing on certain days, and none on others. xD I'm planning my homework so Sunday will be mostly left free to get up a good start. ;3
I have the base of the plot, including all important scenes/events, because writing on the fly so did not work for me last year. xD (Can anyone say no plot?) But there's plenty still up to chance. We'll see how it goes. ^_^ I'm so excited! =D

I've done what I can to prepare. =D I've completed as many school projects and assignments as I can finish ahead of time.
I have all of my main plot points lined up and in a row, because my attempts to wing it have ended with me staring at the screen trying to think of something to write, and I thought this year I'd get all my thinking done in October. =D I still need a title for my NaNo though. xD
