((OOC: Uhhh.... *cough* getting back to the plot after that stimulating dialogue....))
Demyx looked warily at Xemnas's hand, then decided to risk the unknown. He clasped the gloved hand so hard that the Superior winced, and instinctively drew close to his new friend. "Okay," he said brightly. "Now what?"
I really wish I could remember who I was, he thought desperately. Oh well. I'm good at playing it stupid. Keeping the childish smile plastered on his face, the Nobody looked expectantly up at Xemnas.
----------
Saix was in no mood to fight, and he wasn't in any physical position too, either. He snarled up at the Thirecat in disgust. "Yea, go play tag somewhere else," he snapped at her. He tried getting to his knees, but sank back with a muffled groan of pain. Blood trickled over his fingers, dribbled on the floor. He was gasping for breath.
This isn't a good way to start off a new life.
------------------
Saix?
Her eyes opened. The whole world was spinning. Melting. Blurring. She clapped both of her hands to her face, rubbing at the corners of her eyes. Her face was wet. Why? She groaned, rubbing at her back. She heard the pop as her vertebrae shifted back into place.
Where am I? What am I doing here?
She was sitting in a bed, with bright sunlight streaming over her. Her boots and pants were lying in a crumpled heap on the floor. She pushed back the sheet a few inches; her legs and hands were splattered with mud. And something red. She groaned again, flipped a strand of brown hair over her cold shoulders. She should remember something..
Saix!
With a muffled exclamation of surprise, she swung her legs out of bed, fumbling to pull her shorts on over her muddy legs. Both of her feet slid into her boots, her figners fumbled with the zipper, then with a staccato thudding of feet and a swirl of long brown hair, she was out the door. Running.

Xemnas blinked. Demyx seemed even more clueless than before. Half wondering if this was even worth it, he opened up a portal and stepped through, emerging into the half-light of the castle Hollow Bastion. "Stay here," he commanded sternly. "Don't wander off... I don't want to be seen. Any more than we already have been," he added under his breath. "See if you can remember anything more. I'm going to see if I can find anything to eat."
---
Cenylixe raised an eyebrow, lifting Saix's chin up on the point of her blade. She smiled pleasantly as the sharp edge cut slightly into his skin. "I want to know," she said softly. "I thought Organization XIII was dead. This could ruin everything. Tell me, does your Superior still live?" The tip of the scimitar dug in a little deeper, a veiled threat.

"Food? Really?" Demyx clapped a hand over his mouth as the Superior glared at him to be quiet. He crouched down on the floor, hugging his knees. "I'll wait right here," he told Xemnas, giving him a cocky smile. Xemnas turned and walked out of the room, his footsteps getting fainter and fainter. When Demyx couldn't hear them anymore, he relaxed his smile and slumped onto the floor, hugging one knee for balance. He started simply..
Who am I? Xemnas said I'm Demyx. He called me the Melodious Nocturne. Can I play music? I....I wish I knew...
--------------
Saix snarled at her as a little drop of blood oozed out of the cut in his chin. "Look, I don't know anything," he told her, gasping a little with pain as he shifted. He couldn't be losing this much blood. It was completely unreasonable. He needed to get out of here. Maybe...if he was careful and very fast... "So, what pretty plan of yours got spoiled, kitty?" He asked her, blatantly irritating her. Maybe he could get her to do something stupid.
Like lop off my head? He thought.

Outside the castle, still too far away to be seen from the town, Xemnas stopped and sighed. He'd never get anywhere in these clothes. He would have to work out a disguise... until then, however, food was foremost on his mind.
In the World That Never Was, he and the others had always summoned Dusks to take food from Twilight Town. (The disappearances were regarded as one of the many mysteries the town held.) Smiling, he clicked his fingers.
Nothing happened.
It didn't take a genius to realize what was happening: the Nobodies didn't respond to his call anymore.
---
"I suppose it doesn't really matter." Her eyes narrowed as she stared him down. "Tell me... are you willing to forsake your loyalty to Xemnas and join me?"

Saix almost had to laugh at that. "We're Nobodies, kitty. We don't feel anything. I guess that includes loyalty." The sword dug in a little deeper. "You're pathetic!" Saix told her. One bloody hand slipped out of his cloak. Went behind his back. "If I had a heart, this would be where I died of laughter!" The dark portal whirled into life behind him, and with an ungracious half-scramble, half-tumble backwards, Saix was gone.
--------
There had to be others. There just had to be some of the Organization left alive. And if there were, that meant that he had to find them. Xaldin slowly got to his feet, noting that his cloak was splattered with blood. Whose? Who had he attacked? Or had he been attacked? Or.....it didn't make sense. None of it. Xaldin made a beckoning motion with the fingers on his left hand, but the lances were unresponsive. Xaldin tried again. Nothing. Confused, he beckoned desperately with both hands.
The lance lay on the floor. Mocking him. Xaldin finally gave up, bent down, and picked up the lance. He never knew how heavy it was until he lifted it. When the wind had done his work, the lances had been effortless. But now... How ever had he weilded six of them?! He could barely lift one.
It would have to do.
Xaldin shifted the lance in his hand, gave a regretful look at the lance still sticking in the wall, and then headed for the door. He pulled on the handle of the heavy wooden door, tugging several times before it swung open. Looking both ways, he tentatively started out down the long wooden hall. His hand was tight around the lance.

((T_T Poor Xaldy.))
Cenylixe kicked the wall furiously. She'd been sure the Nobody was too weak to portal. This could ruin everything... if Xemnas was still alive, he might challenge them. And there was still her Other to worry about. The Thirecat Nobody turned and portalled to the Altar of Naught.
It was time for a council of war.
---
Xemnas found he was still able to portal, but it weakened him as it hadn't before. He also retained the ability to summon his aerial blades, and could still use his other powers.
But the Nobodies didn't listen to him.
The scientist in Xemnas wanted badly to conduct tests. If only Demyx still remembered who he was... then he'd have something to work with, someone whose abilities he could test. However, there didn't seem like much he could do yet. He needed to rest and bide his time, waiting for his strength and Demyx's memories to return.
Until then... Reluctantly he stripped off his coat, revealing a long-sleeved black shirt, and took off his gloves. It wasn't ideal, but maybe if he didn't let anyone see him too closely, they wouldn't recognize him. He only hoped that he wouldn't run into anyone who had known Xehanort.
Half an hour later, Xemnas walked back into the room with Demyx. He tossed him a package of food and some sea-salt ice cream. "Eat. I need to go and think."

Demyx hastily opened the package. He didn't recognize the food, but he was too hungry to care. THe blonde NObody began hungrily munching on his half of Xemnas's spoils, eyeing the box of seasalt icecream. "What's that?" He asked, nodding to it. It looked suspicious.
I wonder if this Xemnas person would try to poison me, Demyx thought. I wish I could remember what he was like..
"You called me the Melodious Nocturne," Demyx said around a mouthful of the strange food. "Can I play music?"
------------
She came skidding to a halt at the end of the hall, almost tripping over her boots and falling down the staircase. She could hear voices; people were moving around below her. She peered down the long stairwell. If only she could hear better...
"I tell you, I saw one of them!" A girl's voice insisted. "I thought that Sora and Riku killed them all," another voice said. "Eh, good ridance," someone else snarled. "I don't know what those guys did, but I did see one!" The first voice repeated. "It was one of the Organization XIII guys-"
She gasped. Organization XII. Saix! He was here?! She needed to get out of this house. She needed to get downstairs, out the door. She needed to find Saix again.

Xemnas raised an eyebrow. "Yes," he said. "You always used to be playing your sitar." And wouldn't shut up, he added mentally, but said nothing. After a while he glanced at the boy. "You controlled water with it. I wonder if you can still summon it?"

Vexen paused to catch his breath, feeling increasingly agitated. There had been no sign of Marluxia, or anyone else. And he was growing more and more tired as time went on. Something wasn't right... he needed to return to the lab and try to solve this mystery. It was with some shock that he recognized the two on the staircase, clearly ascending from his own lab. Larxene and Zexion. The man stopped, eyes narrowed. "There you are... at last. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one here. Where are the others?" [glow=red,2,300]"Perhaps at The World that Never Was," Larxene said. her eyes narrow and cold. "Perhaps they're still dead, and if they are, then good riddance." The crackling around her died down, and she began to create a portal. "I'm not sticking around here and waiting for that brute Lexaeus or that girl Marluxia. Come on, we need to head back to our city."[/glow]

Roxas blinked. He was lying spread eagled on a cold. hard floor.
''...Sora?'' He couldn't hear anything. Having merged with Sora had given him the ability of sharing his thoughts and seeing through his eyes, but this silence was unnerving. He felt around and gasped.
''I...have...a body again?''
He finally opened his eyes. This place was a bit too familiar.
He didn't have time to think about where he was and why he was there, when the thought struck him. '' Sora....''

Luxord glanced around, he hadn't found anyone. An exasparated sigh erupted from the gambler's mouth. "This is bloody difficult." He couldn't summon his portal, so he couldn't go anywhere, so it looked like he'd be walking around for a while, at least until he found someone or was able to summon his portal.

"Agreed." Vexen nodded and extended a hand, forming his own dark portal.

[glow=red,2,300]It was exactly how she remembered it.
Stunning. Nothing sweeter than the city lit at night. And it was always night in the World that Never Was.
"Luxord?" The gambler seemed to be lost.[/glow]

Zexion shook his head, then followed Larxene through the portal. "It's been a while since I was here," he said, looking up at the stars. "Things don't seemed to have changed much, despite the recent chaos. I wonder if-" He broke off and stared at Luxord, who seemed to walking around randomly.
"I take it there's a reason you're meandering like that."
