At first Vexen thought it was the steady drip-drip of a broken pipe which had woken him. He moaned and turned over in vague annoyance.
Then he suddenly wondered what he was doing sleeping in his laboratory. It wasn't like him to fall asleep in the middle of an experiment. And shouldn't the pipes be frozen over anyway? It should have been much colder than it was.
As the pieces came together in his mind, forming a picture that certainly was not right, Vexen opened his eyes, getting a hand under him to push himself off the hard floor. Grasping the edge of a table to help pull himself to his feet, the scientist stumbled, taken unaware by the sudden weakness in his legs.
Something had happened to him; this much was clear.
He concentrated on his thoughts, closing his eyes. He'd been dispatched to Castle Oblivion... had at last attempted to undermine that treacherous fool Marluxia... and then...
Of course. Axel had killed him. Or... so he'd thought. He looked at his own hands thoughtfully. This should be impossible...
Vexen was longing to throw himself back into his work and study this strange turn of events, but of course that was impossible. He had to confront Marluxia now before the state of the Organization got even worse. After all, the Assassin had attempted the murder of one of his own associates. Somehow Vexen didn't think the Superior would be too pleased to hear that.
He limped to the stairs, smiling all the same. At last he had the upper hand.

"I don't see that brute Lexaeus anywhere. The best place to look for Vexen would probably be his lab."
The door of the lab creaked open. Drip... drip... drip...
No sign of Vexen. He was gone.[/glow]

Luxord slowly opened his eyes, he lay on the floor, feeling broken but completely whole. "Wha-where..." He stiffened and sat up, feeling fear creep up on him. Almost daring to hope he raised his hand and called his cards, they came to him, to his great relief. He remembered almost nothing, yet tiny sparks in his head would not leave him alone. He remembered that keybearer brat.

"I'm beginning to wonder if he's still alive." Zexion's breath caught in his throat. He had always had something of a partner with Lexaeus, but there was visible concern in his voice. Had he gone soft?
Zexion surveyed the empty lab and shook his head. "The only way he could have gone is up."

Xaldin's eyes opened very slowly. He was completely exhausted, completely worn out. He felt as though someone had dropped him off a building, like all his bones had shattered, then been zipped back inside his black cloak. He had to be dreaming. The Whirlwind Lancer concentrated on each breath, slowly breathing in....slowly breathing out. He rolled his eyes around from side to side, trying to take in his current position. He was flat on his back in a dark room, dingy grey light coming in through the dirty window.
One of his lances lay beside him, another one was jammed in the wall across from him. Xaldin frowned, groaned, started to push himslef up. His hand touched something wet. Xaldin looked down, and his eyes opened in astonishment.
The floor was splattered with blood.

Vexen paused to catch his breath, feeling increasingly agitated. There had been no sign of Marluxia, or anyone else. And he was growing more and more tired as time went on. Something wasn't right... he needed to return to the lab and try to solve this mystery.
It was with some shock that he recognized the two on the staircase, clearly ascending from his own lab. Larxene and Zexion. The man stopped, eyes narrowed. "There you are... at last. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one here. Where are the others?"

When Yuffie saw Xemnas, she alerted everyone to the fact in her typical way. "LEOOON! AERITH! COME SEE, IT'S ONE OF THOSE ORGANIZATION GUYS!"
Xemnas could have cursed himself for his own stupidity. As Yuffie turned for a moment, calling again to the other inhabitants of Radiant Garden, he quietly stepped back into a dark portal, not really knowing or caring where it sent him as long as it was safely away from prying eyes.
He was surprised by how much the effort exhausted him, even though he could tell he hadn't gone far. Clearly, he would not be returning to the World That Never Was anytime soon, unless he could somehow acquire a gummi ship.
The pungent smell assailed his nostrils, and he grimaced. Of all places, he had to land in a sewer. He was about to portal again, no matter how it tired him, when a noise made him turn around suddenly.
The Superior's eyes widened at the sight. He'd thought the boy had been destroyed. Then again, hadn't he been also?
He took a few steps forward. "Demyx?"

When Demyx first heard the hissing noise of the dark portal being opened, he scrambled backwards on all fours, eyes wide with panic. Someone was stepping out of the portal; someone tall, with long silver hair, creepy golden eyes. Someone in black. The person looked around, and then saw Demyx. He saw the surprise in the other person's face, then the silver-haired stranger started towards him.
"Demyx?" He asked. The blonde Nobody panicked. He scrambled to his feet, almost tripping in his haste.
"No!" He shouted, backing away from the frightening person. "No, I don't know you! Go away, it wasn't me!" His voice rose with fear. "Go away!" He shouted again. "Please don't hurt me!"

The Superior frowned. "Don't be a fool, Number IX. Under the circumstances, I'm not about to punish you. Now -"
He broke off midsentence, looking into Demyx's frightened blue eyes. The Melodious Nocturne wasn't just messing around for once. He really didn't recognize him. Xemnas sighed, then tried a different approach. "Demyx?" he said gently. "It's all right. I don't want to hurt you... I'm a friend." He could have laughed at the irony. He almost sounded like Roxas now. But, strangely, he wondered if some of his concern over Demyx might have been genuine.
No... it was impossible. He felt nothing, of course...

Demyx was wary. "I don't think I know you. I-I don't think I have any friends," he stammered, pausing for a moment. The silvery person didn't look quite so scary now. "And why do you keep calling me Demyx?" He asked. "Is that my name?" He thought he saw a look of annoyance cross the other's face. "I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry," he apologized hastily, beginning to back up away. "I really don't remember anything, I'm so sorry-"
Where could he run?

Saix staggered against the wall of his room, blood smearing over the dark walls. One of his hands was crimson with his own blood, pressed hard against his stomach. His shoulder had been peirced through; Saix just let that blood dribble down his back. What had Xaldin been thinking? Saix was too weak to keep walking; there was no way that he had enough energy to get out of this cursed castle. Groaning, he slumped against the wall, let himself slide down. His blood left a trail on the wall behind him. Saix knelt on the floor, crossing both arms over his stomach.
The Organization was broken.
That was the only thing he could think. It had shattered, he had died. He was sure that he had died! He kept on thinking that maybe he was dead, but the steady pulse of blood out of his body kept him very, very aware of his consciousness. He has to get out of here. He had to know if the others were still alive. He had to know! That kid. That keybearing kid. He'd wrecked the entire Organization XIII, along with his friends. Saix's eyes burned feverishly with anger and pain.
He wanted revenge.

That keybearer was going to be brutally maimed when he was through with him. He unceromoniously raced out the door, frantic to see if the others were alive. "Superior? Demyx? Axel? Saix? Larxene....Anyone?" He paused, what about Organization III and Fenrix...he shivered, not wanting to know what happened to them. Especially Fenrix.
OoC//: Question, is Organization III and Fenrix allowed to be posted now?

"Your name is Demyx, Number IX of Organization XIII, the Melodious Nocturne," Xemnas recited flatly. "And I am Xemnas, the Superior..." He paused, then sighed. "We all thought you were dead," he said frankly. "You were destroyed on a mission to Radiant Garden, which, I presume, is where we are now." He extended a hand. "Come with me. It will be safest for us to stay in the castle until I can locate any of the others who may still be alive."

A few feet in front of Saix, a young woman emerged from a dark portal. Her eyes widened. "Impossible," she hissed. A curved sword appeared in her hand, and she pointed it straight at the injured Nobody. "I thought all your kind were dead," she spat. "What are you doing here?" There was a pause, then a cold smirk curved her lips. "I am Cenylixe, mistress of this castle."

All thirteen members live or have lived in the Castle That Never Was. Castle Oblivion, on the other hand, was a sort of separate outpost; its leadership was given to Marluxia. Very possibly, the only Nobodies who set foot inside it were Vexen, Lexaeus, Zexion, Axel, Larxene, Marluxia, and Namine. It's likely that Xemnas, Saix, Luxord and the rest never went there at all. Well, possibly Xemnas since he was the Superior and sort of owned it, but that's not the point. He never actually lived there. So if you really want to put another person in Castle Oblivion, that's just fine, it's just that I wanted to make that clear so no one will get mixed up... ^^; It happens a lot.)) |
