There was something about the curt, snapping voice of Professor Aaryanna that made the entire class snap to attention, whether they wanted to or not. The lights in the classroom dimmed as if of their own accord. Black smoke billowed around the classroom cloor.
"Cubi, welcome to the beginning of your second term of Pain and Terror 101. To the rest of you... I also extend the warm hand of welcome. Juda, I wish you would stop trying to read the minds of our new students.
"I'm guessing that most of you don't have an affinity for pain and terror. You probably took this class because it looked interesting. You probably also simply needed to fill your schedule. That is okay. Even creatures and beings who aren't cubi can learn about causing pain and terror and using it to one's advantage in battle."
The feline succubus reached under her ebony-colored desk and extracted a wire cage containing a small bird of prey. It hisses and jerks its wings violently, thrashing so hard that the wire of the cage is bending. It won't be long untilt he bird is free. "First, let's see how talented our new students are at causing pain and terror. I need some... volunteers."

She said it with so much pride in her voice, it was hillarious.
