OOH OOH I got this See the mask that Jones gave her is like the Court or her dad making her be all logicy-rational and then it's scaring away the magicy forest bit of her mom (that's Kamlen) but she can be honest with Kat and the cherry tree symbolizes... happy... things... with the shadow guy being... something... and City Face on Kat's head is... a sign of... Armageddon? yeah, I got nothing Please tell me other people have better ideas? |

I mean, the mask being her logicy rational hiding-emotions side, and how she can drop that when she's with Kat. (Finally let herself cry, then. Apparently in her brain emotions are warm sun and sweet-smeared cherry and a friend beside you. There are worse things.) Kamlen and the forest representing ... the forest and chaos etc., didn't see that somehow, hang on. Mmm, draws away from her once she masks up. And the pigeon - um, some representation of Kat's soul or mind, I'd figured, look how it's younger in the cherry tree panel wait no possibly that's just the lighting hehehehhh anyway. |

Cities are proof of the dominion of man's logic and order, and pigeons are one of the few animals that have made themselves a part of that order and feel at home there. Look at the treatises, all of them since the first have shown cities and buildings Kat's half. The pigeon we've met, even as a joke aside, is even named Cityface.
the mask.. I feel like Annie, at first she is enjoying the male attention, but she retreats. She puts on the stoic face that she learned from watching Jones, only literally since this is a dream world. There must be a part of her that is scared of the implications of male sexual attention, after what happened to her mother. She retreats to the safe, non-sexual friendship between her and Kat.

I think I'm going to guess that Coyote's secret is something to do with the nature of humanity. That could explain why he loves humans so and why Ysengrin seethes with anger. Or perhaps an event related to this.
Then again, it doesn't say specifically that Ysengrin is angry at humans, but...
((Also, if you have never seen this before take a look. It's hilarious, even if like me you don't know much about D&D.))
