Arista watched as Tank fell, surprised that it was over so quickly. She looked around and noticed Cyborg and Midnight standing in a doorway.
"Cyborg! Midnight! You're back!" She bounded over to them. "Where did you guys go?"

" Don't sound so happy to see me Jernath. Well Midknight persuaded me to ask for you to forgive me." Cyborg answered. " I issued a threat is all, no blood was spilled. So you guys killed Tank? Good that only leaves Takehiko." Midknight stated. " So is Alerid safe?" the kougras asked in unison.

Takehiko snarled and jumped back. "Clever fledgling." The charge hurt him badly, paralyzing his right arm, and forcing him to drop the blade or else continue to be shocked. He refused to die, too strong to succumb to that. "I wonder what your blood tastes like." He shook off the pain, getting an idea. "Did you know that if you drink the blood of another vampire, all your wounds will be healed? It is much like drinking human blood, but faster." He lurched forward, digging his teeth into Hades' neck. I guess this will kill you? You're already weak from using so much electricity.
Fenrix roared in pain, feeling both Tank's death and the pain from Hades. "Stop that!" She screamed, drawing her blade.

Hades laughed, shutting off his shockers as Takehiko tore away from him. Oh, his right arm hurt like hell, but he was fighting, and winning, at least in part. "Didn't think I'd be so tough, did you?" he asked, baring his teeth. But Takehiko's next words, and his next move, took Hades by surprise. scoundrel, he thought. I'll get you for that. He bit Takehiko, hands - well, hand, as his right one was half-useless - rising up to Takehiko's face, ignoring the pain of the bite, as well as Fenrix's words.
He grabbed Takehiko's face, trying to dig his fingers into the soft eyes that were such wonderful targets, blessing the cyborg parts that allowed him to do this, and the warrior's training he'd had that allowed him to focus past the pain. Pain, after all, was an obstacle to winning and fighting, and those were what warriors were supposed to live for. No pain was allowed to exist for a warrior. It was transient, something to be acknowledged and ignored, just like fear.

Elycien shot a startled glance at Cyborg and Midknight. "Since when did you care what happened to him?" she said, surprised.
She sheathed her sword and bent to pick up her gun, wincing as she placed it in its holster. Once again she let energy flow from the Emerstone into her shoulder and let out a slight sigh as the pain eased further. Despite all appearances of letting down her guard, however, she still kept one hand on the hilt of her scimitar as she walked forward to check on Alerid, keeping the corner of her eye trained on Cyborg. She trusted him even less than she trusted his brother, and their sudden reappearance had her suspicious. There was no point in attacking or even in remaining openly guarded until he made his loyalties plain; she could lose a potential ally.

Jernath kept a wary eye on Cyborg. "I'm sorry, I guess I just can't be exactly ecstatic when I see a traitor, whether former or not." He crossed his arms over his chest, "And you haven't exactly given us a reason to trust you, so don't be expecting forgiveness just yet."

"Why are you still yapping at the moron brothers?" Vyt tried to break the recovering argument between the mercenaries and the Kougra brothers. "We've got Hades and Fenrix in trouble. We should start focusing our attention to them."

" Now can we all play nice long enough to help Fen and Hades?" Midknight asked. " I care because,.. he didn't do anything to deserve what he's been through here, I did." Cyborg explained. " Now can we get going?" Midknight asked

Arista sighed. She didn't like how people were openly hostile with Cyborg and Midnight, but she knew there was nothing she could do about it. She looked down at the floor and called all the critters that she had called earlier to her side. "I'm going outside to make sure that once you all are done, you'll have a safe exit." She said as she dashed to the other side of the room and out the door. Arista hoped that the run to the woods would help her think about everything weighing her mind down and maybe clear her head.

Clint slipped into the room from the servants' entrance. Carefully, silently, he walked towards the three vampires, and then pulled one of his P-90s from his jacket, still with its silencer on. He aimed the gun at Takehiko and pulled the trigger, hoping the muffled gunshots would be drowned out by the sounds of the struggle, although he had no idea how good vampire hearing actually is.

Takehiko snarled as Hades scratched his eye, blinding him in his left eye. "Fledgling." He spat, letting go and recoiling. Poor Clint, Takehiko did hear the gunshots, and turned in time to melt the bullets. "Pathetic human." He was losing, and knew others would come. "Fenrix." He turned and glared at her. She still stood outside of the ring of fire, deep black eyes stared calmly back at him. "Your name on my heart..."
Fenrix smirked and finished for him. "Your blood on my teeth. Get out, come back and die a better death. This is apparantly below you." She glanced at Hades and murmured softly. "Let him go. You wouldn't be able to kill him right now, no matter how wounded he is." She glared at Clint. "Stay out of this. You are human, unfit to fight a vampire."

Hades slowly released Takehiko. He took a single step back, towards Fenrix, not saying a word. His breath hissed from between his lips, and Hades's expression was tight. His right arm hung limply by his side, and his left hand was clenched in a fist, held to his chest. "This isn't over," he said softly. The words were half a threat, half weary knowledge. He was bleeding, Takehiko was bleeding, and both of them were probably half dead.
Swaying slightly on his feet, Hades hissed, stepping back to the wall and closing his eyes. The wall was stable, as he was not. Not at the moment, at least. He was sort of surprised he was still standing, even if he was leaning against the wall. Still standing, still breathing, still alive, and with wounds on his enemy to prove it. He forced his eyes open, focusing his gaze on Fenrix. "Now what?" he asked. He doubted the others would hear, but so long as Fenrix did, it didn't really matter.

"Stay out of this. You are human, unfit to fight a vampire."
"... But I'm not."
An echoey voice surrounded the entire room the vampires and Clint was in, and only the mercenaries knew who was owning that voice. A shade of light blue began to cover the floor, concentrating on the spot where Takehiko was standing.
In front of him slowly emerged the traitor that was Dum. "Remember me, master?" he said with enough bravado to call it sarcasm. The officer was angry. Very angry.
"Ms. Fenrix, I do not wish for you to force yourself that only a vampire can kill Takehiko," echoed Dum's telepathic voice inside her head. "You've been totally misled by whoever had given you that idea. I've been his servant long enough to know even his unnoticeable flaws, and I'd like you not to pretend that either you or Hades are the only ones who can bring justice to this ill-minded creature."
"If I'm going to die, I'm taking you with me!" he shouted at Takehiko as he began to charge, completely aware of the consequences of his own death.

Takehiko roared and raised his hands, creating a wall of flame between him and Dum. "INSOLENT FOOL!"
Fenrix smirked at Dum's words. God, he was such a pompous moron. He may have been Takehiko's servant for a long time, but Fenrix had been his fledgling for one hundred and fifty years. {Do what you like. I can shield from the blast. Try not to blow /everything/ up. This is my new home.} She stepped next to Hades and placed a hand on his arm. "Duck. The blast will take your head off if you're not careful. We have to go find the other mercenaries and get out. Takehiko wouldn't dare show his face again, not here at least. By all rights, the Quarter Moon Fortress is now under my command."

Clint became enraged. Not only had his attack failed, but Takehiko had escaped, and called him pathetic. He slammed a fist against a wall, muttering a few words to himself as he did so. He brought himself back into focus just in time to hear Fenrix's words. "Wait, do you know where he went? I must find him, I MUST!" With that he squeezed his trigger slightly, letting off a single round into the ceiling.
