Welcome! This is actually more of a long-term problem of logistics that we're talking about, though. The Tabloid Town Spaceport has, presumably, been around a long time, though this is the first time it's ever shown up in an RP. We're kind of trying to figure out on the fly what kind of security measures are at the Spaceport--but again, whatever it is, it's probably been around for years. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not. Sorry that I haven't had much input as of yet... I'd say, if it's supposed to be "year-old high-tech", probably holograms would be your best bet. If Spacefleet had teleporters, they probably would have used them in GW2. As for cloaking, I agree with Fraze that it's unclear of if the 'Fleet actually has that technology, and if it does, I would imagine it'd be expensive or have some other major tactical downside, again coming to the conclusion that if it was good and mass producable, it would have seen some action in GW2. I definitely agree with your last point--if cloaking was readily available, it would have been used for combat far more in GW2--to say nothing of the 'Fleet RP. Of course, it could be argued that it's easier to cloak a ship--which is more or less solid and nondeformable--than it is to cloak a human body, which is constantly shifting shape. However, that seems like excessive handwaving to me.

Here's a simpler idea: cloacking requires a large powerful machine with is also very heavy making carrying to around rather inconvenient unless you're a large powerful creature.

That would work, I suppose, but to be honest, this is something that would be better discussed in Spacefleet Labs. Methinks we may need to revitalize that thread. *Shifty eyes*

Mrmkay, expect a textwall sometime later on when I have more time (read: got a class in half an hour, no time right now).

Sorry, there really isn't much that Kat can do besides hang around and follow you guys into the port. XD The triplets are pretty much the same...

HOWEVER...Spacefleet would be rather unwilling to give the Pirates a cloak--it might be quite expensive, Spacefleet would probably want to know what it's being used for, might expect something in return (a diplomatic exchange at the very least), and to top it all off: if you've got a cloak that big, it'd be much more effectively used on the Weewoo than the blarf.

What, so with enough diplomacy and dragging Chikkin back and forth between the two HQs, I'd be able to get myself an invisible spiky mist-ship in exchange for a bunch of political promises we, as pirates, may or may not keep? ...I'll go get a post done before I start getting funny ideas.

[glow=red,2,300]Keng, you named your ship the Ludicrous?
... Do you want us to make Spaceballs references? XDDDD [/glow]

XDDDD [/glow] Oh, that's not the only reference I made in naming the ship And yes, the ship's maximum speed is "ludicrous". Keng likes to hit the button every now and then just for the plaid effect, but not before maximizing the power on the inertial dampeners. And Hunty you stole my line about not hitting red buttons D:

And that is exactly why the 'Fleet wouldn't exactly be willing to give away cloaking devices. So, who's going to take the role of captain of the shuttle? Obviously someone who can do more Spaceballs references than I can. Also, *pokes Omni* When is Brian going to get to the table, anyway?

Well, I'm captain of my own shuttle, and a commercial flight wouldn't necessarily require someone to be the captain.

XDDD Epic win for the Star Wars reference, Fraze.
Oh, and also, if I don't post, assume I'm going along with whatever it is we're doing. =D I'll be on Keng's ship with everyone, right?

So, is someone who's going up on the Ludicrous going to bring a communicator with them? Otherwise, I'm stuck with three extras.

Oy, Keng? You need to install one of these :3...although it might be a bad idea when we're mid-flight. But still. And Speck, I s'pose you can bring us the communicators when we meet again in the HQ. I doubt the flight will last long enough to make a difference (well, I hope the flight won't last long enough to make a difference >> Wouldn't want this poor thing to drag on any more than necessary.) In other words, initiative is encouraged and since I'll once again be internetless from Thursday to Monday morning, I'm sortof hoping that we'll be on the moon already by the time I get online again >>;
