*stumbles around* Goodness, it's dusty in here. And when was the last time someone cleaned the deck?
*sits down on a convenient, if terribly unorderly crate* Akay. As you may or may not know, the Guilds War 2 ended quite a few weeks ago and the Pirate guild died quite a long while before that, and since your friendly local captain isn't much interested in commanding a crew of zombies (well, she is, but I had this little clash with Barbossa over copyright >>), it should be high time to start another roleplay and mebbe spice up the guild a little on the side. All guilds have been a little dead as of late.
Now, due to the chronological buildup of our RP-world as well as the aforesaid deadness of the guilds, we figured that it'd make sense to turn this RP into a followup of the GW events, which left a lot of loose ends, as well as include other guilds in this roleplay, so that we'd be more interacting and less each guild sitting in the corner doing their own thing and unwilling to share their shovel and bukkit. In other words, we figured that the next Pirate RP could be a Pirate/Spacefleet crossover RP.
The main reason and explanation: Cyborg. As you may or may not know, he left the crew. Now he wants back in. Unfort'nately, he's messed up big time throughout the old Pirate RP as well as GW2, which has to be a record of sorts if you ask me.
The plan is this: in order to be allowed back in, he needs to do us a big favor of sorts, and as per the end of GW, our crew has a personal vendetta with Leraye the gem-forging demon who backstabbed us, and since he's disappeared off the face of the country, we need to track him down. The Spacefleet has shiny archives we have no access to. A cyborg who was openly at war with pirates would make a good infiltrator. The rest is the matter of roleplaying it out and altering the plotline according to any twists that may occur, but that's the very basic idea.
The questions that arise are, of course:
1) whether you're interested in joining something like this 2) whether the 'fleeters are interested in joining something like this 3) whether Cyborg's still in it, 'fcourse >> 4) consequently, how to make sure that there'll actually be, you know, multiple contacts (because the fleet is up on the moon and the pirates, well, are not, and there are few reasons to meet) 5) where this would take place, since there already is a Spacefleet RP at this point, albeit a not-so-alive one; whether we could merge the two into the already existing Fleet RP or start a new one 6) and if the first three points don't work out, any alternatives? x'3 One way or another I'd gladly see a guild crossover. Ever since the guilds were created, they've been pretty distanced from each other, and need moar close encounters.
If you read all this, you get a big shiny bottle of rum. May or may not be an empty one. (Hey, I'm a straightforward captain.) In other words, can I get a buncha opinions on this?

1) Since we've discussed this a fair bit, you already know I'm interested. 2) See above. 3) I can't speak for Cyborg. Well, I could but he might not be happy about it. 4) I could work myself in as a contact, as we've also discussed. The logistics would take some time to figure out, but it would be doable. 5) While the 'Fleet RP isn't really going anywhere right now, a few of the 'Fleeters (Bacon and Amneiger, mostly) are still starting an upcoming plot arc. If we were to incorporate this into the 'Fleet RP, we would either have to put that plot arc on hold, or find some way to incorporate it into the crossover. I think the latter option is far too cumbersome and would just slow the crossover down. I'm fine with the former option, but I'm not sure about the other 'Fleeters (especially those setting up the new arc). 6)I have nothing to say here.

1) I'm interested. 2) See above. 3) Well, I've actually been wanting something to happen exclusively between the cyborgs, like a duel of the cyborgs (or a work-together that leads to a duel), even if only for a short time. For that to be possible, Cyborg would have to participate. 4) I'd say Keng would be a likely contact. … You know those trade relations Spacefleet has set up? The pirates could contact them then. 5) I'm not sure how a merging would work out, unless you want to have the pirates fight Togorians and Laketans. *shrug* Either before or merged would work for me. …Although I think I'd like to see the pirates infiltrating alien spaceships. 6) Not much to say, other than I'd also like to see a crossover.

[shadow=purple,left,300]1) Heck, sure, I ain't no zombie. But univ is turning me into one. >_> 2) Can't speak for the 'Fleeters 'cause I'm not in their guild. 3) Can't speak for Cyborg, I'm not him. XD 4) Some people are 'Fleeters AND pirates and may hover from one guild to another. *seriously interpreted this question wrongly* 5) We could start a new one for the sake of the people who don't poke around much into the 'Fleeters' guild board, and personally, it would be hard for others to just jump in. I'm sci-fi illiterate. XD 6) Yes, moar close encounters. ^_^ And Kat needs a good reason to play triple agent. Why? So it'll be more fun.[/shadow]

1) Yup 2) Up to them 3) I don't know you should ask him *shot* 4) Well Cyborg and Keng are probably going to keep in contact as much as possible, would that help? 5) Start a new one 6) Can't think of any right now

1-2) I'm interested. *'fleeter* 4) We can probably find some reason for the guilds to meet up. 5) The 'fleet roleplay is currently going nowhere, in my opinion. It wouldn't take much for us to just segue into a 'fleet/pirate roleplay, I think.

Well, the main problem with contacts is, I'd much rather avoid a situation where Cyborg's the only pirate chillin' around on the moon and the rest of the crew sits around down on earth doing their own thing. It'd defeat the purpose of a crossover overall. Fraze and Keng would make for good contacts, yep (...provided Keng's in it >>) but logistics make it a tad hard to pull off. There is, of course, the spaceport in Tabloid Town...
The contact-issue would ofcourse be overcome if a) all fleeters came down to earth for some reason or b) all pirates went up to the moon for some reason. Hnm. Does the fleet HQ accept tourists, perchance? *whack'd*
As for the fleet RP subplot arc, it shouldn't be hard to incorporate per se, because that way there'd be more to the roleplay than just a sneaky infiltrator most people wouldn't know about anyway. Besides, it's easier to sniff around in archives when there's a big distraction-battle going on elsewhere. And while naval battles and Tortuga bar brawls are fun in a way, we've had lots of them by now. I wouldn't mind kicking some alien butt pirate-style for a change :] That's my opinion, though.
Problem with starting a new roleplay overall is, keeping up with two separate roleplays is mucho hard and attention-splitting (provided the fleet subplot works out. As it is, the RP there is a leeetle dead, s'why it's kinda hard to predict >>) That's why I was thinking of merging in the first place, although I can see how it'd be tricky; not to mention, since Cyborg needs to be tried and given the ultimatum/punishment/mission in the first place, the beginning of the Pirate side of the story would one way or another be pirate-exclusive. Then again, it'd pay for both sides to be familiar with what happened in the other guild before the encounters. And everyone who was in GW oughtta be familiar with ignoring posts that don't concern them x'D

[glow=red,2,300]1) Totally for it. ^_^ But you knew that. 4) I wanna steal a spaceship. *shot* No, seriously, if we want to try a lot of portal-hopping, then where in the NTWF we are won't matter. If Leraye is going to be hiding in the NTWF, then the Fleet would have to come down to meet us. 6) This is why both the pirates and ninjas were more active when we were on each other's backs constantly. XD The guilds were made to play off each other. I'm really looking forward to this. ^_^[/glow]

1) Very. 2) As a collective, I think, yes, pretty much. 3) I have a feeling he is >.> 4) Well, there's Keng (someone's said her and Cyborg will be staying in touch.) 5) I don't think merging it into the current Spacefleet RP would work. We've got a nice-ish little plot running and merging in the Pirates might be difficult. 6) Not very much to say here.

This sounds like a lot of fun. And, um, I kinda died back at page 70 and have no idea what happened for the rest of GW. ._. This saddens me. But I'll still participate in this RP! As for alternative crossover roleplays-- I suggest a massive attack on the Ninja HQ. Go back to our roots.

Ooh, looks interesting!
Despite the fact that I know very little about GW2's plot.
But I'm interested anyway!

5) I'm not sure how a merging would work out, unless you want to have the pirates fight Togorians and Laketans. That's an awesome idea! 1)Maybe. I've been having difficulties coming up with SFRP posts these past couple of weeks, though, so not sure how active I'd be. 2)From what I've seen, I'd say they are. 3)That's kinda up to him. 4)....uh, I got nothing for this one. 5)Unless you've got some sort of weaponry that's good against giant spaceships, I'm not sure how blending the RPs would work, although we could always try... 6)We could both attack the ninjas while they're weak, eliminating that menace once and for all. >_>

And Sev. But looks like most people are voting for starting a new RP. 6) =D I like the way you think. Well, to recap the relevant points of the GW for all those who aren't familiar with it: - This is, ultimately, all about Leraye. He's a low-rank demon alchemist who spent most of the GW trying to forge fighting warriors into a gem in order to use their energy to empower the gem and get a source of magic, since he doesn't have any magic of his own. He's not bad, per se, he just doesn't have the same kind of moral humans do. Actually we got along fine, until he turned out to be backstabbing us due to trying to forge us into a gem and suchlike. He looks more or less like this. - At the end of GW2, he did get a new gem, by using one single soul, the soul of TMC, the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse. Since the latter is a chronomancer (and generally a jerk), that gem is not only mucho powerful, but can also mess with space and time. TMC was killed by Death, but since his soul exists in the gem, he's likely to make a comeback one fine day, depending on when and how I'll feel like messing around with him :3 He looks like this. - TMC's bike (a big, white, overly chromed and pimped Harley Chopper with dials no mortal should ever look at) is currently being kept in the Spacefleet HQ. - And we're after Leraye's head partly because he backstabbed us and partly because during the GW, we backstabbed the army he'd originally forged into a gem, so by tracking down Leraye, we'd redeem ourselves in the eyes of that army. Well, according to vox populi, it looks like we can just get this party started and see where it ends up x3 As soon as we get a buncha final details sorted out. And it'll probably be on the main Guilds board, partly 'cos it's neutral ground and partly 'cos it needs more love and attention.

... TMC became the fourth horseman of the apocalypse?
WHY didn't I keep up with GW2? That sounds so epicly awesome!
