Gen grinned. "Okay, I'm coming." She stumbled out of the room that was home to the teleporter (grabbing onto the door frame on the way to stop herself from tripping over again) and followed Omni, Salah, Kat and Ikkin towards the front of the manor to greet the other newcomers.

Kat waved to everyone, albeit a little awkwardly. It was her first time to step into the Mages' Guild, after all, even though she already had a lot of experience with magic.
"A training room? Sounds good. If you didn't have one, I'd campaign to have one installed," she quipped. "And if you want, I can see if I know whose magic that is - the one accompanying Ginz."

"We're here!" Ginz exclaimed with glee. She turned to face Dan. "Isn't this place amazing? I can feel such a strong magical atmosphere. We are practically breathing it right now!"
Ginz was really absent-minded looking at all the little ornate details that decorated the Manor, and she didn't notice as the group of fellow Mages approached them. Dan had to nudge her gently. She smiled and waved at them, walking further in.

With the sudden approach of the group, Dan's alarm was magnified tenfold. He didn't let on and let his wife do the talking, which she did quite animatedly.
"I'm so glad I got an invite! Thank you Ikkin. And it's nice to see all of you here, I'm sure we'll get along just fine!" she chattered happily.
Dan took in the expressions of the other mages. He didn't trust them. At all.

The invitation could not find its owner. Of course - the invitation was sent under the presumption that its recipient were a part of the third dimension.
Shadow watched the envelope flutter through the wind - it followed her along the stone wall which stood between Neopia and Reality.
At least it has persistence. Shadow's eyes were bemused when the envelope slammed into the brick wall, over and over again, trying to get to her. Poor pathetic thing. I suppose I'd might as well see who would be so tenacious in finding me. It's a wonder how it found me at all...
Shadow stepped out from the wall, turning into the solid-looking mist that she was. The envelope, in its enthusiasm, zoomed into her hand... zoomed through her hand. Shadow shook her head.
"Silly thing - come to me and reveal yourself." The envelope obeyed, its outer layer burning away to reveal the note within.
Shadow read it, curiously. With a sigh, she realized that she should have known. "Only Ikkin could have cast a spell that could find me. I suppose I must entertain her invitation, then." After all, shadows were all cursed, and this Shadow had one she could not refuse.
The wind pushed at Shadow, causing her misty body to swirl. "Alright, alright - I'm coming. Who am I to turn down a party invitation?"
Without hesitation, Shadow slipped into the darkness, only to reappear seconds later in front of Ikkin's manor. The sun was shining brightly, much to her dismay - thankfully, she saw Ginz and Dan making their way toward the manor as well.
Quietly, Shadow molded herself into Dan's dark form and followed them in.

Omni gave a friendly smile. "Hi Dan. Hi Ginz." She wanted to glomp them, but decided not to at the moment.
A moment after the couple came Omni noticed something. There was something odd, it wasn't something she saw or heard, but rather something she felt. The feeling of the area changed, suddenly. No, it didn't have to do with the way anyone acted. She felt something dark, she couldn't tell what exactly, but it came in with Dan and Ginz. She didn't let on that she felt anything though, she thought she'd wait awhile before coming to any conclusions, although she was already trying to guess what it was.

"Greetings, Ginz, Dan," said Kat, curtsying as much as her robe would allow. She eyed them closely, scrutinizing their magical auras. Ginz' she could recognize well; but Dan's was a little less familiar, probably since she didn't often see him cast a spell or weave a little magic around.
In fact, something about Dan's aura seemed...shadowy. And speaking of which...
"Allow me," she suddenly said. With an upward sweep of her staff, she sent a curve of violet fire hurtling towards Dan's shadow. "Who are you and why do you disguise yourself so? I am a skilled tracker of evil magics; a First Master of Light! I will give you five seconds to show yourself, or else I blast you into oblivion!"

"That's probably just Shadow," Ikkin said, hoping to avoid any unnecessary quarrels. "She received an invitation to come to the Manor, too... not all users of shadow magic are evil, you know. Though, I've gathered that this one is a bit of a trouble-maker. Come on out, Shadow. Introductions are done best when they're not made at the point of a staff."
She thought for a moment, then continued. "Actually, it might be best if we all went inside and sat down. I'm sure it would be more comfortable for everyone, and then we'd be able to catch up with each other. I'm particularly curious about Dan, since I've never seen him use magic before." She turned to look at Dan. "If you don't know what kind of magic you would be best suited for, I could always give you the presentation about the different types of magic that I made for new mages."

"Oh...my sincerest apologies then, Shadow," said Kat, curtsying profusely. "And why else did I call it evil magic instead of saying dark magic? I know they don't mean the same thing, and I have many friends who are better hands at darkness than I am, and they wouldn't hurt a fly."
She frowned, the face of contrition and shame. "I'm sorry. I guess I'm a tad too wound up. Anyway, shall I summon a few chairs, or do we have a good-sized sitting room for all of us? It's the least I could do for being too hasty."

"The Great Hall would be a good place to sit down and talk," Ikkin said. "And then, we could summon up some food and drinks for everyone. I'm sure some of us might be hungry - I've heard the teleporter tends to do that to people."
She looked at Kat directly. "I'm sorry for making that assumption," she said. "I just felt a bit uncomfortable with the implication that one of my guests was evil. No harm done, right?"

Ginz was glad to see everyone, and greeted them accordingly. She could sense Dan's distrust, so she thought nothing of the shadowy aura around him. She had thought it was normal.
When Kat made a sudden movement with her wand, Ginz instinctively gasped and stood in front of Dan to protect him. Kat hadn't been aiming at Dan, however, but at his shadow. Ginz felt a bit silly, but very relieved. Fortunately, no one noticed. No one except Dan.
Ginz was surprised to find out Shadow was there, but she had other things in her mind. She wished she could read minds to know what Dan was thinking. She could assume, but she wasn't sure. Ginz suspected Kat's 'attack' to his shadow wouldn't make Dan's trust towards the mages increase.
"I think Dan would be most interested in defense magic, actually," Ginz said to Ikkin. She didn't usually speak for him, but it just seemed right then.
"And food and drinks would be wonderful too!"
She followed the rest of the mages further inside.

Ikkin's proposal had caught him off-guard. He hadn't actually wanted to learn any magic, and Ginz's suggestion for him surprised him even more. But the more he thought about it (which he did while Ginz was chatting with the others as they strolled to the Great Hall), he realized it might be useful to know a few spells for defense. A few spells wouldn't classify him as a mage, would it? He guessed even the pirates and ninjas had a few charms up their sleeves.

"Aww, so cute." Hidden within the dark forest next to the manor, a small Dragon looked at everyone entering the manor. She had taken special care to hide her magical signature as soon as she had entered the island. Swimming all the way to it from the NTWF had been hard work, but thanksfully her Mini-Dragon form was quite agile in water.
She moved forward a bit, a ray of sunlight hitting her. Her dull white scales in the shadow shimmered of every color of the rainbow under it. The sign of Light aka Full Elemental Dragons. She hadn't gotten any invitation to join the guild. Which wasn't surprising, considering she wasn't even a mage. She could use and had good efficiency in magic, but many things, including but not limited to the fact that magic damaged her body in the long run if she used too much of it made a Berseker her true calling.
Still, she wanted to join a guild. As an ally of both the Pirates and the Ninjas, she could join neither. Knights might have been a good match, seeing as they were also warriors, but Bersekers usually fought dirty, the total oposite of the chevalry code, making her chances of acceptance slim. So mage it was.
Still, the lack of invitation was perhaps for the best, she thought, shooting one last glance to the empty front of the manor as she went deeper in the forest again, shaking her scaly dragon tail happilly. It would be so much funnier to try and sneak in! These wards looked extremely tempting to try and break. Chances are, she wouldn't manage, but THEY would almost certainly sense her attemps and do everything in their power to try and protect themself from the 'invader'. Which was how she liked it. Nothing better than a little chaos in the morning! Or for a full month, heheh.
(I thought y'all could use a small villian of sort ^_~ )

Omni jumped when Kat suddenly pointed her wand and started shouting. Her shock left when Ikkin explained what was going on but her heart continued to pound for minutes afterward. Well, now she knew what she was feeling, it certainly wasn't one of her guesses.
Omni liked Ikkin's suggestion to go and eat. "Come to think of it, I am kinda hungry, which is strange considering that I ate only a few minutes before I came here."

Shadow wasn't surprised nor fearful when Kat threatened to "blast her into oblivion". All she would manage to do was blast a hole in the manor's beautiful tiled floors. Alas for beautiful tiles.
Was it a curse or a blessing? Shadow could not be killed by physical means, nor could she kill. Her own daggers, while they existed in the physical realm, could do nothing more than poison its victims.
Kat was bowing in the wrong direction. Shadow was no longer in Dan's shadow - in fact, she had slipped into Kat's own, which was right behind her.
Shadow contemplated manipulating Kat's magic to frighten her a bit (she smelled like a Pirate - her association with them must have made her a tiny bit coarse to the intricacies of magic), but Ikkin's coaxing convinced her to hold off a bit and show herself. Ikkin knew Shadow all too well, it seemed -
A trouble maker, am I? Shadow mused . Why, I guess I am. Having no one to try and kill me lately has made life a bit dull...
Slowly, and warily, Shadow stepped out of the ground in her three-dimensional form. The others were already ahead, walking toward the Great Hall. With shadow-mists swirling in her wake, she followed.
