(I suggest changing the setting yet again.)

((Ok guys, forward skip to the weyrlings' first Threadfall!!)) Kyja trembled as she fastened the fighting straps onto Sarinth, and the flamethrower onto her own back. The first Threadfall. This was what they had been training for, this is what dragons were made to do.

(Err, how old would the dragons be, then, and are they all in the same Wing?)

((Mmmmm.... let's just say about a year has elapsed (forgive me if that's too much or too little), and I don't think they'd all be in the same wing... wouldn't the Queens be in the Queen's wing and the rest would be scattered? I'm not sure...))

(Okay.)
D'lan doublechecked the straps on his riding gear. He also checked, once again, that the bags of firestone were securely attached to Plinth and that there was no way something disastrous could occur. Gear? Check. Firestone? Check.
Orders, check. Plinth added. She'd been talking to Aroth, second in command of the wing they were a part of. Without needing a request, she shared that information with D'lan, passing on a feeling of warmth and confidence as well.
A year was a long time--most definitely long enough for D'lan and Plinth to shift slightly in their personalities, enough so that they worked together as well as possible. Enough time for them to become more confident in their own skills, truly a dragonrider. Even so, a bit of extra caution on their first time fighting Thread wasn't unfounded.
I think we're ready. D'lan decided. Agilely, he vaulted onto Plinth's neck and slapped the side of her neck affectionately.
They awaited the official announcement to go between.

Vaulting onto Sarinth neck, Kyja stroked her neck nervously. The dragon reassured her with calm thoughts. Then, there came the command. Go between to Ista, where the Thread was falling. Kyja gulped, and told Sarinth to go. The bitter cold of between took her breath away. She began counting slowly and calmly in her head, and before she knew it, they were there. The disgusting parasite was falling everywhere. Right in front of Kyja, a patch was coming down. She torched it with her flamethrower without even thinking. Then the Queen's wing began to fan out, to go fight the menace.

{Forgive me for any typos, I'm using a flat keyboard. I'm used to the wavy ines,}
Grimly, I strapped the flamethrower onto my back, and a couple of spare tanks to Mas's back. It was strange, the feeling of going into battle. I felt cold, like a ball of ice was in my stomach.
You'll be okay, Mas assured me. We will e flying under the other wings. Few Threads will get through to us.
I know. It's just frightening. Tell the lizards to stay.
They will not sit around in a cave while threads fall. Dragonriders must fly/when thread is in the sky. Same thing for dragons and fire lizards.
I sighed. I had four fire lizards, and I didn't want any of them hurt. Nor did I want the wild ones that stayed wiuth them to be hurt.
All right Mas, let's go join up with Kyja and the chubbies.
Chubbies was the name Mas had given the other two Queens that had hatched with her. Their riders had a bad influence on then, she beliecved. I didn't blame her for that opinion.
With a poweful sweep of her wings, we were in the air and heading towards the area we had been told to meat at.

((Heeeyyyy, are you talkin' about Sarinth? XD)) Kyja seared some Thread here, scorched some more there. It really wasn't that hard once you got the hang of it. Then, suddenly, she felt a searing, burning, horrible pain across her cheek, and down her shoulder. Biting back a shriek, she quickly told Sar to go between. Sar was one step ahead of her, though, and was already there. This time the freezing, biting cold of between was a blessing, cooling the fire in Kyja's skin. She and Sarin burst out of between, and Kyja continued to sear the Thread, not giving her scoring another thought.

((Heeeyyyy, are you talkin' about Sarinth? XD)) {No. I'm talking the other queens... I figure that with a large clutch from a good queen that already has had 2 queens in the same clutch, why not throw in a couple more? I figured that we could use them later on, just in case the thread dies again and we're out of ideas... Gotta go. Sorry.}

((Unfourtunately, I think this thread is dying. Should we start a new one, and go through Impression again? XDDD))

(Yeah, sorry about that. My character doesn't really fit in because he's a Green Rider, and there's not much I can do to interact with your characters.)

((Maybe we should be merciful, and put this thread to rest... we could start a new one, and begin with Search instead of Impression.))
