((I think I might as well temporarily quit this RP... Reasons? 1) I've already said it. I've been cut off (except at the library) 2) My..er..."H" habits stink; they seem to be getting worse. 3) This board is getting closer and closer to a GMers RP. What I mean by this is that it's getting too far away from Canon [SILVERS!?!?!?!] 4) I've never actually finished any of the Dragonriders of Pern books.
Sorry guys.))

((Really, it's not that far off. We're not creating a whole race, a whole 'nother dragon, or anything. We were just irritated because there's no female version of a bronze. So we created one. Really, it isn't far off. It could happen. And really, who's heard of a platinum either? It's an RP, and it's not a really official RP, so you don't really have to stick stock-straight to all the rules of the books. Another color could happen, and it's easily changed back if too many people are bothered.))

((I want to continue. I luff this RPG! But should we skip forward a little, so we can kind of stop hanging around feeding the dragonets? Like, maybe just skip forward enough in time to where we start training and such.))

{Good idea. I want to ride, already!
So... er... guess I'll begin...}
I nervously stood at the edge of the training grounds, Mas by my side. She had grown quite a bit, and was now larger than many of the Bronzes-for which I was thankful. I didn't much care about her size, but others thought her a dissappointment to what was expected in a clutch from that particular Queen.
Mas, you still want to have a clutch?
I already told you. You make me chew Firestone and I sit on you.
I smiled. Eventually in training we would have to learn to chew firestone, and the silvers would chew or not depending on whether or not they wanted to have a clutch.
Absently I scratched Mas's eyeridge as we waited.

Kyja stood near Mas and Lynn on the training grounds, with Sarinthine at her side. Sarin had grown to a larger size than Mas, and in fact had grown even larger than what anyone had expected, larger than all the Bronzes, and only a tad smaller than the Queens. Kyja tried not to show she was as nervous as she really was. It seemed to be working, for only Sarin truely knew how nervy she was. Sarin, now that you're a mature young Silver, have you changed your thinking about the clutch? Kyja said through mind-speak, not wanting to disrupt anyone else. I've decided I will have one, said Sarin, After all, I must pass on my superb genes to others. Kyja knew that last bit to be a sarcastic joke, and laughed slightly. Good, because I want to use a flamethrower, Kyja said. She kept talking to Sarin, just absently babbling, and scratching eye ridges, for Sarin's benifit as much as her own.

Mas snorted in laughter beside me.
I don't suppose you're going to share the joke with me?
Mas explained to me what Sarin had said, and I couldn't help but grin myself.

OOC|
May I join? I will probably post erratically, though, and I would prefer not to use my trainee character (because I don't feel like using him right now), but I have a 'graduated' dragonrider character--D'ien, of blue Aroth.

((Yes, it's fine that you join. We could use more than two people. Oh, and you don't mind about our Silvers, do you? I'm reading Dragonsdawn, the first Pern book. It's soooo interesting!!! Oh, and also... have we learned to go between yet? Because, if not, that could be what we're learning now. It's quite an important lesson.)) Kyja continued to nervously chatter mind-to-mind with Sarinthine. She wondered when they would start their training session.

(('Tis a bit strange.... but don't leave!! I just read Dragonsdawn because I'm reading the whole series now... this RPG got me re-interested in Pern, and Dragonflight got me interested in reading the entire series. Plus, it's probably worth a huge load of AR points....))

OOC| I prefer traditional, or at least compliance with Anne McCaffrey's official statement about RPing in her universe, but I'm willing to overlook it. Oh, and is a first person writing preferred, or is it alright to use third if I stay from D's perspective?
IC|
D'ien, wingsecond of one of the smaller wings, stood at the outskirts of the group of trainees. His official-type clothing marked him as having already become a 'full' rider; the knots on his tunic marked him as a blue rider. He didn't attract much attention--for all the trainees knew, he could be aiding the Weryling Master in lessons for the day.
In reality, though, he was supposed to be watching and seeing which dragon-rider pairs were the smallest, the fastest, the most agile. He was responsible for keeping a nice backup set of riders to call upon when their main wingriders were incapacitated--one of the many tasks of being wingsecond.
The weyrlings would graduate soon, and threadfighters were quite important, after all. And anyways, he didn't even mind the task. It was a nice feeling, to be assured of having people who could 'take up the slack', as it were, in case things became shorthanded.

{Why'd you think I'd leave? I LOVE this RP! It's too young to die!}
