"Well..." Celie glared at the strange person in front of her. "I usually live through falls. I miscalculated how much weight the branch could hold - it must have been older than I thought." Stiffly, she added, "Thank you for your assistance." She turned away from him and kneeled down by the water.

OOC: Well, Celie's an elf-hobbit - both species tend to be peaceful.

{Leo's got a soft spot for girls ;D}
"Your welcome," I muttered. "Go get a drink, Fireyes."
Kneeling down, I used my magic to create a large ball of fire on the ground. I was getting too cold to stand it anymore.

Celie looked over her shoulder to see the other being create a flame. She glanced back to the water, aware that he might think she was staring at him.
"If you don't mind me asking," she said, "why are you so far south? Is this your homeland?"

"Hardly," I said dryly. "I was born near Mordor, while some wacko was thinking of ruling the place. After I was held in a prison for five years, I escaped and was raised by the Firetalon clan of dragons near Lothlorien," I told her, inwardly cursing myself once more for letting myself slip. I had never been able to keep secrets around females. The time I had told that traitorous elf the location of my clan's cave was proof of that.

"You've travelled far, then," Celie said softly.
(OOC: Isn't Sauron still ruling Mordor?)
"I was born near Imladris - Rivendell, as it is often called. I've been travelling all over Middle-Earth... did you say there were dragons near Lothlorien? That's odd, I lived there for two years and never heard a thing. Must be well-hidden," she laughed. She looked back and sat on the bank of the river.
"Prison? How old were you then.... I mean, were you a child? It would be terrible to hold a child in prison."

"The Firetalon clan was wiped out by the elves of Lothlorien almost three hundred years ago. Only Masdana remains alive," I told her coldly. "That was during the War of the Dragons, after Smaug attacked Laketown, and it was declared that all races were at war with dragons, to wipe out the foul race. I pity the poor souls who condemned all for the actions of one, and rendered me an orphan for the third time in my life.
"As for being in prison, yes, it was awful. It was after my parents had both died of a disease I had been spared from, though I do not see how it was a blessing, more a curse. I was four years old, and they held me until I was seven, until I escaped. My blood, and the blood of many other children, was used for potions of evil nature."
Making the ball of fire bigger, I put my hands directly in the flames, closing my eyes in bliss at the wonderful heat.
"I nearly died that day, when I escaped. Out of the fourty-three who escaped with me, nineteen survived. They were taken in by the elves of Lothlorien, after bringing me to the Dragons, in the hopes that their 'leader' would be saved by the magics of the dragons," I told her, closing my eyes against the tears that threatened to come. Why did I always have to be so weak?

Celie remained silent for a moment, then said, "It's sad how people are treated in this way. I'm sorry it had to happen to you.... Dragons, while they are fierce.... they are feared unnecessarily, aren't they? Anything that can kill is feared." She looked back for a moment, then said, "And people don't listen.... They want themselves to be all-powerful. They will kill anything to gain power. Mostly some men - not all," she said quickly, "but those raised among other men who have some power. Dark creatures, too - Wargs, goblins, trolls.... If only they did not want ultimate power so, or worked for he who does want this ultimate power, I am sure they could be normal creatures."
(oocly looks around at the emptiness)

"If that is true, that anything that can kill is feared, then why are Elves held in respect, rather than fear? They can kill like any other, and qucker and with more efficency than orcs or many other creatures," I pointed out. "If you really get down to it, dragons and elves are much the same," I said softly. "Neither of us wish for war, yet we will protect what is ours, and will attack if we are attacked."

Celie nodded. "The difference is," she said, "that Elves resemble other species more than dragons. They appear less dangerous. As well, their treasures - or at least the ones they are known for - are different. Elves are known for wisdom, dragons, for gold. Men kill the dragons for their gold, but pretend to respect Elves to gain their knowledge. Only those that truly respect Elves.... they respect all life."
