((Oh... So she didn't collapse... Okay, then, she SAT down... she still ended up on the ground, right? And the paragraph said that the shadow monsters attacked, not that she was hurt, and Nokua said she'd collapsed... For all the description you gave, she could have fainted of fright!))
Shadows started to approach the girl, and I started paying more attention. No one was there to protect her, and she didn't look like she could defend herself. I leapt off the branch I had been perched on, bending the air around me to slow my descent. Once on the ground, I wove more barriers of air to keep the monsters away from the girl, but I didn't think they would last long. My powers had been going dry since my wings had started forming.

Mai: "Oh, that would be nice, thanks!" Later, at Jade's house, the Speed Twins were setting up the fire. When they rushed by Jan, he put out his leg and tripped them. Right now, Whitney is helping Mai set up the fire. Mai: "Jan hasn't been acting the same lately." Whitney: "What do you mean?" Mai: "He seems sort of... evil." Jan walks out, and Clay lights the fire. Jan: "What on earth are you talking about? I'm the same as always. I have no clue what you're speaking of." Mai: "Really? Then why won't you let me touch you?" Mai gets close to Jan, but he quickly takes out his sword. Jan: "Stand back!" Whitney: "This isn't like you, Jan." Jan swings his sword out, but Mai jump-kicks it. and it shadders. Mai: "It's a fake!" Mai punches Jan, but then Jan goes pitchblack, and darkness surrounds him. Mai: "Oh my gosh! Jan! What have I done! I'm so sorry! Clay: "That's not Jan. Gem Rod of Canine, Send me a Reveal Spell!" The energy ball brings a strong blow of wind, and the darkness forming Jan is gone. In it's place, are four Shadow Spiders, standing on each other. Clay and Whitney double team them, and they then disappear. Mai: "B-but, then where's Jan?!?" (It's night time, just so you know) Big red eyes appear in the darkness of the trees. Dark, low, voice: "I have him. I have Jan." Clay and Whitney get in fighting position. Whitney: "Warn all others in this area, Mai. NOW!" Mai rushes off, and the Speed Twins are ready. Clay: "It-it-it's the--" Shadow Lord: "Yes. I'm the Shadow Lord. Main follower of Haroo, power over all at night." Clay: "You'll never catch us!" The Shadow Lord steps out. He wheres a black robe, and besides that, looks like pure shadow energy. Shadow Lord: "Ah, but you have no where to go." They look around, and the ground around them is pure darkness. They start sinking in it, and start panicing. Jade came back from getting wood. She saw the others sinking into the ground, which was now pure darkness. She took out her gem rod(or whatever it's called). "I call upon the god of aqua. Jehn-Rahg, give me strength!" she called. A tunnel of water instantly fell from the sky on to the area of darkness. It soon dissapeared and became normal The others were allright. Soaked, but allright. ((Yeah, I hope you don't mind having to call upon a god to have a spell work. Just had some wierd idea and thought it would be nice.)) |

((Okay, let's go with that... Eny fainted because of fright, but not injuries, since Markten just came to try and saver her. Just ignore what happened before the rescue with Eny... except for the whole fainting thing.)) Nokua rested for quite a bit before she could get up. She got on her hands and knees, and reached for her staff, which had fallen out of her grasp when she had collasped. Using the staff, she pushed herself up, continuing to use the staff as support. She kept stumbling through the forest, but had just enough energy to call her younger sister's name... "Eny!" Hopefully, Eny would be nearby and wouldn't be hurt. |

Jade came back from getting wood. She saw the others sinking into the ground, which was now pure darkness. She took out her gem rod(or whatever it's called). "I call upon the god of aqua. Using his powers, he brought Clay, Whitney, and Jade up there a held them in the spot upside down. The Shadow Lord: "Wow, that's a mighty far way down! We wouldn't want to fall, now would we?" Whitney: "What do you want from us, creep?" The Shadow Lord: "Watch your mouth, young lady. Now, if you want to live, I suggest you answer my questions. Tell me where I can find the Gem possesors which a harness a staff." Clay: "Leave us alone. We know of none." The Shadow Lord raises his hand, and they all fly up higher in the air. The Shadow Lord: "Oh, but I'm sure at least ONE of you know the where-abouts of one of them. Clay: "Gem Rod of Canine, send us a a beam!" A beam goes flying at the Shadow Lord, but he immediatley smacks it away. The Shadow Lord: "Fool. Your rod has no effect on me." Whitney: "Of coarse! I've heard great forces can't be effected by Gem Rods. But some of the greater element gems give staffs, which can effect anyone but the Gem King himself!" Clay: "Great. It looks like we're in trouble. And the bloods rushing to my head." |

I couldn't hold the monsters off for much longer-my barrier was weakening fast-so I tried something very risky, that Drintarr had just spoken of once. I gathered together energy, and released fire, air, earth, and light, al woven together. The air strengthened the spell, and seperated the fire from the earth, and the light made it so it would only be harmful to these montsers. The spell swept accross the ground towards the shadow creatures, and as soon as it hit them, they seemed to crumble into dust. Since I didn't have the power or the knowledge to draw the magic back into myself, I let it go wear itself out. Weakened by this use of my powers, I fell to my knees, then crawled over to the girl. Her light brown hair was cut short, sticking out every which way, and she was wearing short pants over long socks, a pair of leather slippers, and a short-sleeved brown blouse. I didn't pay much attention to that, though-my eyes were drawn to her forehead. Like me, she had a blue stone resting there. I didn't linger on it, though; She was obviously hurt from the little while before I had put the barriers up, though she was definitely still alive. I put my thumbs on her forehead, just below her stone, and sent in healing magic mixed with light and air-if I had just done straight healing magic, the intensity might have killed her.

Eny opened her eyes to see she was lying in the clearing. There, kneeling over her, was someone who she didn't recognize. She quickly crawled a couple feet away from the girl, who looked very worn out. Full of energy (which Eny thought was a bit strange), Eny shouted at the top of her lungs.
"N-Nokua!!!"
Nokua wearily raised her head. That...that sounded like her sister! She was alive! As quick as possible, she limped and staggered into the clearing, smiling as she saw her sister. Eny, upon seeing Nokua, ran over to her and hugged her. Nokua started to fall into unconciousness again just as Eny grasped her around the waist, tears running down her cheeks...

I stood back for the reunion of the two, but when the older one-probably a sister or cousin-started to faint, I rushed over to her, easing her to the ground. I put my thumbs on her forehead, like I had with the little girl's-though she had no stone-and sent healing powers through her, once again dimmed with light and air. Only sheer willpower and determination kept me from falling over beside the older girl-Nokua?-and going to sleep.

Nokua jolted back into full conciousness a few seconds after the other girl ((around her age?)) had touched her forehead. She first glanced at Eny, still hugging her...then she noticed the other girl. She must've been the one to give her this extra energy, as Nokua knew that Eny's... powers hadn't developed that far yet.
Nokua smiled at the girl, "Thank you."
She would've given her something in exchange, like something to revitalize the girl, but she had no such ingredients with her to make something to temporary heal the girl.
Nokua pondered and searched the pockets of her skirt as Eny kept asking her if the girl would be okay. ((Forgot to mention this... there are many pockets on Nokua's skirt...))
Her ((Nokua)) eyes lit up as she found a small bottle in one of her pockets. Of course! Nokua's and Eny's mother had given her various small bottles of liquids and pills to cure certain ailments. The small bottle Nokua's hand grasped was one of these bottles; filled with Mamana - tiny, triangular, crimson pills that would re-energize a person (yet, it wouldn't replenish their magic).
Eny looked to and from her older sister and the other girl, and noticed the tiny pills that Nokua had taken out of that tiny bottle. Her older sister handed one of the small pills to the other girl...
"Here... Don't worry, it's not poison." Nokua said, holding out one of the tiny triangular pills.

Someone held something out to me... I think it was the older one, but I couldn't tell-my vision had gone blurry.
"... Don't worry, it's not poison," I heard her say. It felt like I was moving through porridge, but I lifted my arm and took it, popping it into my mouth and swallowing. Normally I'd be more careful about what I ate-the others had warned me that some herbs or spells could conflict with my powers and do more harm than good-but I was so drowsy I hadn't thought of that. I clenched my hands as threads of red-hot pain shot through my veins, then disappeared as I slowly felt more awake.

What would he do to Brandon? It was a lose-or-lose situation. What could she do? She was practically torn in half. Her heart started beating ten times faster. Iyorrn simply stood by, watching the entire spectacle unfold. She did get soaked at one point, and then two people were picked up into the air.
Iyorrn sat down. Nobody was talking to her. Although she didn't like it that much, she was keeping busy keeping her phoenix out of trouble. That Tsunami had worried her.
