"Sure, I'll attack first." Kira replied. She raised her hands, and a fireball appeared in each of them. She let out a small sigh, and sent the fireballs straight at where the rustling was coming from. "I'm not too sure it was effective..." Kira said, looking ack at Karien.

Karien shook her head. "Possibly fire resistant." She stepped forward, and slashed at the bush, jumping back onto the path before whatever it was could retaliate.
The bushes flew apart and three dark creatures were forced into the light.

Karien shook her head. "I lived a secluded life in the clearing; I had no need of protection. My knife was for food and houses since I have no claws.... my fangs are not strong enough."

'Yours may not, but mine might be.' Okat said to Karien.
The badger lunged at the dark things. She began to tear at the things, but it wouldn't do anything. When she tried ripping them with her teeth, a pain began to seep through her body... Okat whimpered and backed away from the things. The trees and bushes around her were becoming blurry.

Karien blinked as Okat bit into the creature, hoping it worked. When the creature-thing seemed fine and the badger did not.... "What is that?!" she yelled. "Maybe we should... run? It could be the only way! Kira do you have any other spells?"

"I guess I should try one thing that I think could work." Kira replied. She put her hands together, as if she were cradling something invisible. A small, light, almost white blue ball started forming in her hands. It slowly grew bigger, and as it became the size of a grapefruit, she fired it at the dark creatures. They immeciately froze in place. "Now, we can run!" she yelled, starting to run.

Karien nodded. She quickly placed the knife back in its sheath, then turned to look at Okat. "Do... do you need help escaping?"

'No... I'll be--' Okat grunted, '...fine.'
She wobbled along the path. Her vision was slowly seeping away; she was becoming weaker. Apparently, there had been some kind of poison in the creatures' blood.

"That badger," said Kira. "It looks like it's hurt by poison or something. I don't think it's safe for her to go on without proper treatment." with those words, she created a small ball of energy, and sent it flying at Okat. "It's not the best thing, but it'll do for now."

Karien smiled softly. "I have some healing herbs in my bag if it gets any worse, Okat. For now, are you sure that you will be all right to walk? I... I can carry you if you like, I'm not particularly weak."

'I do NOT intend to be carried. I'll manage for now.' Okat said to Karien.
She continued walking along the path. Her hackles rose once again. 'More of those things are following.' The badger trotted; she would've run, but she was still too weak at that moment.

A voice startled Karien. Spinning around, she said, "W-who are you? And why are you in this forest with us, three travellers who are searching for elves?"
