"But..." Karien sighed. "The animals don't know either, and you're the first outsider I have seen. You must be able to help."

Kira shook her head slowly, still keeping her eyes shut. "The closest I have ever been to outside this forest is flying over it; I've never explored the world around, except for watching a few communities from a mile away..."

Karien nodded. "That's so far away, though. I've never left this place in my whole life. You must have seen elves in the forest somewhere."

"I've only heard of them. Really, all I know about them is that they're nearly immortal, and that they look a bit like humans, only a bit shorter and differently shaped ears..."

"Well, still! You must be able to help me somehow," Karien said. She looked around to the edges of the small open space that was her home. Dipping one finger into the stream, she said, "I'm ready to leave. I might come back; I might not. I would miss my home, but I could stand it. I need to find the elves because they might know of my destiny."

"Your...destiny? Destiny is supposed to happen by itself, it's not for you to decide about."
((I think the total opposite, but whatever...))

"No. I want to know what my destiny is, and I have the feeling the elves will help me."

Kira sighed. "If that's what you want..."

"So you'll help me?" Tears of joy flooded her eyes. "It's all I want."

"Why in heaven's sake are you crying? I'm just helping you out, that's all..."

The badger got up, and trotted over to Karien yet again.
'I will go with you, I suppose. You do not seem like all the other humans I have encountered... That, and I do not believe this other being can smell well,' Okat said to the "half-breed", 'I also do not belong in this forest. I do not know where I belong, as I have been shunned by most animals, even my own kind.'

Karien smiled at Okat. "Thank you..." ((Can she speak normally or in telepathy?))

Karien smiled at Okat. "Thank you..." ((Can she speak normally or in telepathy?)) ((Erm... It's telepathic in the sense that Okat speaks with her mind. Yet, it's speaking out loud to an animal, as in other animals can hear her talk (as well as those who can understand animals) "telepathically." Hope I'm not confusing you. )

((Okay))
"Thank you. I'm sorry they did that to you... But I'm glad to have another companion on a journey. I'm sure we will find your destiny too."

Okat grunted, 'Destiny, as you call it, has nothing to do with it. Now, shall we start our journey?'
