Leslie greeted her on the other side. "What was that?" she asked. "Tantra Chantal? All I did was read the demon's mind." Norina sighed. "I hope whoever is trying to destroy us gives up now. My magic is almost depleted."

At the words Tantra Chantal, Hannah was confused.
"I heard English coming from my mouth, I don't understand Tantra Chantal."
Hannah suddenly saw a bright light coming.
"That must be Angel's Hope!"

Norina smiled. "Yes. It signifies the end of danger and acceptance into the magical society. It's a very high honor, one not often extended to humans. Are you prepared to accept? It is a binding contract, but many rewards are in store for you." Leslie nodded. "I accept. What about you, Hannah?" Norina frowned. "It's strange, you know- the Tantra Chantal. I heard it flow from you as if you had spoken it all your life. Perhaps it was a gift from Fae. Do you still remember?"

"I do not fully understand the contract, what do you mean, acceptance into the magical society? I'm confused. As for the Tantra Chantal, I remember the battle, but the only Tantra Chantal I know is the one I was told from the piece of hair. Nothing more. I heard myself speak English. This is very strange to me."
(EDIT: This is my 4000th post! Woohoo!)

"Acceptance into the magical society means you will be able to practice your gift for the rest of your life," Norina explained. "But there are certain obligations that go along with it. You might be called on to defend the land of Fae, and you will have no choice but to accept. And their is always the possibility of having enemies in the magical world. The Tantra Chantal still confuses me, though. How could you not realize you were speaking it? What did you think you were saying?"

"In that case, I accept. As for the Tantra Chantal... wait. I'm not really sure what I said."

Norina nodded. "So be it. Perhaps it is something we were not ment to decipher." Suddenly, Leslie noticed her sea-colored locks fading back to their normal, tawny hue. The webbing around her fingers disintegrated, and her scales faded into human skin. She smiled, not too surprised after all that had happened. "So," she mused, scanning the horizon dappled by the setting sun, "where do we go from here?"

Hannah looks down and sees the vine sword in her hand.
"I guess I still have this, though I doubt I'll keep it. It IS Vanayara's sword, only enchanted with light powers."
Hannah turned towards Nornina.
"What do we do now that we are in the magical society?"

Norina smiled slightly. "It's not as big of a deal as you might think. You live your own life just like the ungifted, but the magic is their to help you. It is your choice."

Hannah thought to herself.
"I thought we would be going into a town bustling with other races of magic, but oh well."
"What about the shadows? Are they in the society, or are they outcasts?"

"Outcasts." Norina gave an involuntary shudder. "They were most likely mercenaries hired by some dark sorceror. Also, you are welcome to visit Fae now that you are a member of the magical society. It's unusual, but you might be able to make it your permanent home. After all, you are two of the youngest mages to see the Orbs and the ordeal with the Destroyer's Song..." Leslie nodded. It was not an experience she cared to repeat. Norina smiled. "Are you up to the journey?" Leslie grinned uncharacteristically. "Hannah thought we would live among mages," she explained, "but I'm not so sure. We'll see..."

"Well, I would like to visit Fae sometime, but I wouldn't want a permanant home there, unless it has the most beautiful of areas that are secluded. I can get claustrophibic."

Norina tilted her head to one side thoughtfully. "The thing that you have to understand about Fae is that it exists... on a different plane of reality. Like an alternate earth, almost, but portals can be opened by faes like myself. You could walk from the north pole to Antarctica in the dimension and never find it. As for claustrophobia- no chance of that. Faes rather detest enclosed spaces." Leslie nodded. "It sounds very ideal. I'd like to see it."

"It sounds very nice in that case. Do you know where these portals are?"

Norina smiled mysteriously. "Everywhere." The fae flung her tiny hands behind her, a rainbow tempest gathering behind her billowing skirt. Golden threads framed the vortex as a clap of thunder sounded in the distance. An image of a rapidly spinning earth appeared in the strange circle, and then the rainbow lighted faded white. Norina smiled with satisfaction as Leslie gasped. "There. I opened one."
