On the forums I stumbled upon the 'Who will you dedicate your NaNo to?' thread and it suddenly came to me who I would dedicate it to.
The NTWF. <3 No quesiton about it.

Holy. Holy GOD. I just had the most frightening experience of my life- and this happened with last year's NaNo, too! I was working on it with my flash drive in this comp, my main PC, and suddenly I tried to save and it said the file path was corrupted and I couldn't save. Then, I tried to just save it all and get out - and suddenly Word had to shut down and I LOST THE WHOLE ASLKJAKSJING THING.
kthx for the heart attack, technology. Luckily I was running the document on my laptop upstairs, and just went up and saved it into like five different documents. But I don't even know what the hell just happened. Thank God I only lost about three hundred words.
*collapses*

I'm about 6,000 words behind now. I am calming myself down by reminding myself that at this same time in the first year I had only around 5k.

I looked at the NaNo wordcount I'm supposed to reach today, and went "gak! Such a high number! ;; Nuuu!" ...And then I started writing, and now I suddenly only have like three hundred more words to go, and am perfectly confident that I can get there in maybe... half an hour or something? XD; It's like the words suddenly decided to flood out onto the screen. Nice when that happens. On a side note, that CreateSpace site they mentioned in the NaNo news looks incredi-awesome. It's totally going in my bookmarks, 'cause I know for sure I'm gonna want to sell one thing or another online one of these days.

I LOVE NANO, I LOVE NANO, I LOVE NANO, I LOVE NANO. I'm just feeling disgustingly positive today XD I had an awesome run yesterday, went 500 over my goal, and wrote a scene that I'm actually proud of rather than just tolerating it. SO. HAPPY. Ahahahaha~~

Hahaha weird coincidence just now.
I was listening to "Psychobabble" while writing (which happens to be Alerid's themesong, but that doesn't matter at the moment). Just when Alerid turns around and sees that Sherieth has seen his wings (she's nearly speechless), the lyrics playing were "Why are you so quiet so suddenly?"
Then a bit later, when he asks her "What will you do now?" the lyrics playing were "So what do we do now?"
xDD So weird.

Okay, if you're having trouble staying focused on your word count, or just want to get the words out faster- try using Write or Die. You simply type in a word count goal, select a level of consequences (ranges from pop-up windows to really bad noises to erasing your work one letter at a time!), and add a time frame. A new page comes up, and you simply type your work in the big text box. But pause too long in writing, and the screen starts to turn red, and your selected consequence appears/manifests. I got my word count done in about...an hour, I'd say. It's really useful. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't italicize, and the program immediatly pauses any music you have running (at least, YouTube video-wise). I'll probably reserve this for more difficult days, but it's pretty cool nontheless =)

*sobs* *1300 more words to go because she just passed 1500* .... ;_____; I want a liiiiiiiife. but I refuse to stop until I read the end of my story or 80k. Blah. Can't let myself down.
Nothing to it but to continue, I guess.

So last night, in true NaNo spirit, I stayed up late at night, writing a last-minute nightmare sequence in order to bump my wordcount up to the quota when I should have been getting to sleep. I mean, it wasn't like past-midnight late, but it was still like an hour after I should have been in bed. Ahh, how I love NaNo. I guess I should just be glad I didn't have a horribly traumatizing nightmare like the one I wrote in my NaNo last night. XD; Guess my subconscious is nicer than Aryola's.

Ahhh nightmares are fun. I get to have one (for my character, obviously) later in my book. Though I'm still not sure if I'll actually write out the nightmare, or just have him waking up all scared and angsty and cute. ... yeah, Alerid is pretty much adorable. :3 *stabbed by him* >__> aaaand he hates me saying that. Oh well.

As for backups, thankfully Nisus Writer has yet to hiccup on me ever, and my computer hasn't crashed in ages, so I think I'm pretty well safe... I... I think I jinxed my computer. D: Suddenly it's been crashing and now I'm kinda worried. That last time I only lost like three sentences, but it was still three sentences I had to write all over again. I guess I should be glad I save so much. *huggles computer* Come on, compy, you can make it through November for me. <3 Plz?

...Well, I suppose that works.
Out of sheer desperation to get something down, as my nearest exciting plot-point was a month away (stupid weres!), I started talking about Tori's Thanksgiving plans. Then Dimitri talked about his a bit...and it's leading toward a plottish point. Not toward the main goal, but toward Tori and Dimitri becoming friends.
Strange, the things that pop out when you're desperate to write something, anything =)
