Awwww poo. I thought the Halloween one would be on the 31st, so I asked for the wrong date to start my 4-part Spooky. >_> Hrm. Not too much a problem, methinks. Sort of.
But yeah, my plans are a 4-part Halloween Spooky. I already sent parts 1 and 2 because it's getting close to the deadline, but I actually haven't finished parts 3 or 4. >_> That's on Monday's to-do list, for sure.

On another note though, last Halloween was on issue 315, meaning this year it's 50 issues later (365) ;D

Currently working on a Halloween short story collab with Dimitris. ^_^ We hope to get it done soon so we can pop it into the submission form. I don't know if I'll finish this before the current series I'm working on (which has absolutely, positively nothing to do with Halloween XD).
Eh, Halloween here isn't a very big holiday either. There are parties and costumes, sure, but trick-or-treating is mostly confined to malls or wherever security is way up. It's never safe to be out on Filipino streets at night on any day of the year. XDDDDDDD

Since I live in an apartment where you need a key just to get in the building, I don't think I'll see too many this year, or any year.

Am I ever glad you made this thread! I was tossing the thought of starting too early back and forth, but this clearly states I'm right on track. I think. In other words, I should get working.

Hmm. My theory for the 24th instead of the 31st was this: If it comes out on the 31st, you have Halloween evening to read it, when you're possibly too busy. Then the next day is November.
If you don't live in the US, you probably wouldn't even see it before Saturday. So everyone has a maximum of a few hours to read it before it's November and no longer really topical. If it comes out on the 24th, readers have a whole week to read NT spiffiness before Halloween itself.
On the other hand, it might be silly to have an ordinary issue come out on Halloween. What do you guys think?

Well, in my opinion, having it on the special day it makes it even more special =D Because it will be double celebration, having the NT exactly on the day. How many times will this occur?

I think it makes more sense to aim for the 31st. It would be weird to have a normal issue out on Halloween. And even though it is November when most people read it, it's still closer to the 31st of October. If that makes sense. And it would give me an extra week to finish the story I haven't started working on

What do you guys think? Personally, I think that the Halloween issue would make more sense on the 31st - and that's speaking as a Brit. Attempting to speak for approximately half the world here, I generally see it on Saturday anyway, so I expect to see the piece on Saturday. The Halloween-ness of it, though, would still be there - possibly even more in the aftermath of the day itself. I also suspect that everybody is expecting it to be on the 31st, and that might cause some submission issues if people in general think they have a week more than they actually do. (On a slightly separate note, you could probably use a public NT calendar to let authors know when the special editions are coming up) I can understand your logic for choosing the 24th - however, I think that it would be strange to have an ordinary issue on Halloween itself, and it would be more sensible to have it on the 31st.

31st sounds like it would be on target. Maybe you can get the powers that be to have the NT released a day early for the 31st, to synch with the overseas fans? I am assuming all the entries will be posted by then.

This is pretty tough. On the one hand, releasing it on the 31st does mean that most people will probably read it in November. It's kind of lame to read a bunch of Halloween stories after Halloween has already passed. >_> But, the 31st is Halloween and it would be weird to have a regular issue out then.
I would push for putting it out a day early, but that might be impossible. In that case, I think I would actually vote to have the issue on the 24th, simply because I enjoy anticipation and stuff like that. Reading Halloween stories in November would be weird. >_< But of course, it looks like a lot of other people want it on the day itself, which makes sense.

Hmm, I like what Patjade says and have it a day early.. but if you're way too busy Droplet, then I don't see why add in extra stess on your job. ^_^ But yeah, I'd go for Halloween regardless. ^_^ I mean, even in November people still have some of their decorations out (at least in my neighborhood) so yeah, makes sense. ^^;

I'm personally for it releasing on the 30/31, because I kinda' assumed that's what it'd be when I sent in a couple of parts of my 4-parter. ^_^;; Hehe.
