(Thanks, Kat. Just the post we need. I'm godmodding the Ninjas...)
An hour had already passed, and the group of Jakie, PFA, Bettyming and Cat Assassin had already prepared themselves for the trip. Cat Assassin, the assigned leader of the group, had been given a partial status report from one of the scouts, but he had yet to skim through it.
"Fireballs... Casted flooding... Flying boulders..." the feline uttered as his eyes went across the sheet of paper he was holding. "... Nothing out of the unusual here. Maybe it's just another trouble-causing mad men, just like last month," he said to no one in particular.
Cat Assassin raised his head to meet the eyes of his group. "The scout findings indicate that we have to walk a lot to get..." he raised his left arm out and pointed at a certain direction. "... There."
"Wait a minute," Cat Assassin remembered, his eyes widened out. "This is the same direction I took on my way to Mages Manor. Could they possibly..."
To the others, it just seemed like Cat Assassin took a brief moment to breathe. Partially to complete that course of action, the cat shook his head as if something caught his mind for awhile. "Sorry about that. Now, shall we be going?"

"Yeah, we probably should head out," PFA agreed. "Better to get this done sooner, rather than later." She turned to the other ninjas. "Bettyming? Jakie? You guys ready?"
((...I feel filler-ish. >_>; We needs to get to the exciting happenings.))

With an axe attached to her belt and a tiny white cat curled up in her hood, Jakie was ready to go. "All set, PFA-chan." She was smiling as though nothing very serious was going down, which in her warped mind there probably wasn't.
(Filler post is fillery. =P)

With a very small smile Bettyming grabbed some half-eaten food (why did she feel more confortable eating half-eaten food?) off the table. She already had all sorts of metal jangling around in her backpack, and she couldn't fit much more in there. She was ready to go.
(Man, I feel like this is a filler.)

"Ugh..."
Groans of pain echoed around the unknown place, only giving the dark corners the chance to scare. Poor Cylak was already frightened in her somehow weakened state, bound and tied by an invisible force. She despised the darkness among the things she hated, for it resembled the complete opposite of her.
Through her eyes, Cylak could see swirls of light-blue light weakly hovering near her. She could hear the agonizing cries from the light, and could not help but symphatize for their pitiful state. "I just want to go home," she sobbed.
Many times had she tried fighting the forced slumber being invoked upon her. It was also that many times that she had failed. Once again, her eyes were shut closed, but not before a shady silhouette of a human girl came across her sight.
-------------------------
"Cylak... I'm coming for you..."
It was not obvious, but Cat Assassin was eager to go with the mission. Immediately, the cat rolled the status report and placed it underneath his coat. "Let's go," he hastily uttered.
His steps were shuffling and his eyes were fixed. Cat Assassin had to know if their mission had anything to do with Cylak's disappearance. "Watch out, girls. Look out for anything-"
THUG.
"... Unusual."
Noticing something heavy halting him from raising his foot, Cat Assassin knelt down and inspected what it was. It looked something like a branch of a tree, seemingly shaped to guide someone in walking around the rocky forest. He looked further and saw something shiny affixed atop of it.
"... This is her wand!" he exclaimed before noticing some cuts and scrapes around it. "She must've seen someone around here..."

"Would you like some help? …at least with cleaning up?" Nature blinked at her mentor's question. "Cleaning . . . uh, no, L-Lady Omni, don't-t trouble yourself with the . . . thingy . . . ah-I'll clean it up." But this "cleaning up" proved to be disastrous, for because of her jitters, Nature made the mess even worse - there was a broken plate on the table, the saltshaker lost its cap and fell on Demene's head, the toast fell on Seline's head (which made the snow-dragon more irritated), spoons and forks were scattered everywhere, and a mug of coffee accidentally spilled on Kat's lap. The mess was more chaotic than the last one. Nature grinned nervously at her mentor, her expression somewhat saying 'No, it's okay, I'm alright'. Then, it suddenly happened. The Freezemancer happened to see a spider crawl on the wall. A big spider. A big, freaky hairy spider that could fit in one's palm. And, a little piece of bad news: Nature was terribly afraid of spiders. Seeing the arachnid mosey around its own business was too much for the Zafara to handle. Immediately, she let out a shriek, ran to the cupboard under the shelves and slammed herself in. Once she was inside, she started sobbing. "I hate spiders . . ." ===*=== The halls of the Mageri's headquarters were quiet. Maybe a little too quiet. A hooded figure seated on the floor sighed and stared at his old wooden paddle-ball toy, it's ball an oceanic blue. He glared at it under his hood, and, without anything to do with it, threw it to the ground. But before it could hit, a loud zap was heard and the paddle-ball was nothing but ashes charred by lightning. The man (or boy . . . who knew) jumped up and turned his head around to see another hooded figure standing before him, tapping her foot in annoyance. "Whoa!" The hooded male cried. "You scared me back there, Lireo." He looked at the charred remains of the paddle-ball and grinned at his companion. "You're lightning magic's getting pretty good." The being known as Lireo rolled her eyes. "Oh, don't give me that talk, Dymien. The Leader's calling a meeting in a few minutes, and he clearly stated that each and every Mageri should attend." She gave Dymien a cold glare. "Get up, or we'll just as well take the same punishment those illegals get, yes?" Dymien muttered something under his breath, and stood up from his place. He was taller than Lireo now. Without saying any word, Lireo motioned him to follow her and he obeyed without protest. "You do know that I am older than you," Dymien said to the female Mageri as they walked down the hallway. "And I was recruited here first." Lireo scoffed at his statement. "So?" "So, I find it unfair that you treat me like that, seeing that you're younger than me and are ranked pretty much lower than me." "Well, one, you don't really at older than me, do you?" The girl smirked. "Two, the Leader has told everyone of your incorrigible clumsiness and has assigned me to make sure you don't get into any sort of trouble, older you may be." "Pfffft. It's not my fault I keep on slipping. These shoes are hard to walk in!" "And thirdly," Lireo pointed out, a small smile creeping on her lips. "Lightning is more powerful and destructive than musical incantations." Dymien rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Well, you do kinda have a point . . ." The lightning-user laughed a bit. "See?", she said. Lireo faced the musician and brought his face nearer to hers. "Told you." She put her lips against his, making Dymien blush a bit. (Yes, even the Mageri can feel normal emotions.) Just then, another hooded being walked in and gave the two lovers weird looks. "What are you two doing?" Dymien and Lireo pulled away from each other and looked back at the other Mageri member, who was clearly older than the both of them. "Oh, Marthae! Hi . . .", Dymien greeted, face still a bit red. Marthae stared at the two for several seconds, and then sighed. "I don't want to know," the middle-aged potion maker muttered in her strange accent (which no one in the Mageri really seemed to understand.) Then she went back to what she was going to say. "Evandra, the second-in-command, is here now. In a while, the Leader will be here, too. Make ready for the meeting." The two other Mageris nodded, and went with the potion-maker to wherever the meeting was going to take place. ===*=== *sniff* "Is the spider gone yet?" ===*=== ((XDDDDDDDDDD I love this post. It's full of funnies and 'shippergasm. <3 Spot the references! The spider thing was loosely based on a true incident, by the way. XD Dymien is one of those mages who use incantations, except his incantations always involve music (which means he sings his incantations and/or plays an instrument along with it.) Lireo is one of those rare elemental mages which are accepted by the Mageri, and she has the attribute of lightning. (Sound familiar?) And Marthae (who I named after the song 'Martha, My Dear') is a potion maker-slash-psychic and is in her mid-30's. (Dymien and Lireo are in their 20's.) Note that none of them are anthros, hybrids, etc. - all of them are pure-blooded humans that use magic, that's all. Plus, all three of them are based on characters from certain stuffs. See if you can guess. XD One answer I can tell you is that Marthae is based on Tia Dalma from the POTC series.
EDIT: Ooh lookie, another long post! =D *adds to long post collection* ^_^ *brick'd*))

"Whoa!" Kat leaped up from her seat, staring at the huge coffee stain spreading slowly over her robes. Clearing it with a sweep of her hand, she said, "All right, Nature, that settles it. You are going someplace to rest, and we'll clean things up."
Suddenly, Nature shrieked, and ran to hide in a cupboard. "What - "
Kat glanced around to see what had scared the mage, and saw a big spider on the wall. "Yeeps. That's one monster of a spider if I ever did see one. Someone get it out - but if anyone's interested, you can take it as your familiar. Just don't show Nature, 'kay? And don't hurt it. The rest of us can clean up, and we can keep on eating. If we're still hungry. Or...eh, whatever."
* * *
Evandra whipped out a golden pocket watch.
The Leader was late. Not that anyone complained; he could come and go as he wished, anyway. If anyone objected...well, she could only feel sorry for their audacity...and foolishness.
She decided to think of something else - their prisoner. The young girl's abilities were very difficult to harvest, to mimic; more experiments had to be done. With a snap of her fingers, Evandra brought two Mageri to her side, whispered her order - "Watch the little girl after our meeting. See if she will tell us anything useful."
Wait...if this meeting concerned everyone, she would have to bring Althius back.
Althius. Save your spying for later. This is important.
Important enough for me to come, I assume?
Teleport into the Hall. Yes, I mean THAT Hall. ASAP.
Exactly one second later, the young redhead appeared in the Hall - on top of the podium. He blinked, and quickly clambered off to join the rest of the Mageri.
"Well, it was short notice. I was concentrating on that chair over there...somewhere to the right..."
((Lireo. Heh. XDDDDDDDD I get a cookie now, right?))

((Haven't been on for a while, school is getting to me. >_<))
Celestial was too deep in thought to notice anything going on around her. Overlord was giving her an insight into so much. There was a man who was coming here and he was one of Them, the ones who wanted to kill of all of Celestial's kind and by the looks of it, they were not just talking about dragons. Everyone in Mage Manor was at risk!!
A shriek startled her out of her thoughts. Nature was staring at a huge spider and even Kat looked nervous. Celestial gritted her teeth but showed no fear, instead walking over to the creature and persuaded it to come onto her hand with a few air currents. She kept her palm flat so the spider would not think anything of the experience. It was a big scary thing and Celestial couldn't help but grimace as those eyes that stared right at her. She slowly fluttered into the air and came over to the window, opening it with a gust of wind.
Without any further hesitation, she threw the spider out of the window, whispering a little blessing in dragontongue for it. She then walked over to te cupboard where Nature was hiding.
"Nature...the spider is gone. Please come out" she pleaded to the door. She established a vigil near it to wait for the poor Zafara. There was no way this day could get any worse for poor Nature. However it bothered Celestial a little that she lost contact with Overlord. She needed to restablish it again but before that, there were more pressing matters.
Celestial made a piece of ham float on the air towards her. There was no hiding the fact that she was hungry as the ate the ham, letting it's saltiness fill her mouth. No matter what happened, Mage Manor ham was always good. Celestial sighed and kept watching the cupboard for Nature. She didn't want to speculate on what the spider could have been, hoping that it was just a spider.

"... This is her wand!" Uncle exclaimed, after examining the branch he almost tripped over. "She must've seen someone around here..."
"Who?" PFA couldn't help but ask. "Who's wand?"
Before Uncle could answer, PFA looked around, wondering if there was someone nearby or something. There was no one immediately visible, but the ninja still couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong... she reached into her pouch and pulled out a kunai, just in case someone decided to try and ambush them.
"Whoever left their wand here might still be close," PFA muttered. "Maybe we should look out for them."

"Who?" echoed a question from PFA. "Who's wand?" She promptly followed.
"... I mean, the owner of this staff is a girl! I could sense... female hormones... around this branch..." he stuttered as he began lifting the object in front of him.
Little did he notice that it was bound by an invisible trigger mechanism. Just as soon as the staff went off the ground, a series of snapping sounds dangerously travelled across the ninjas. Those sounds alone spelt impending doom.
"Shoot. It's a trap," Cat Assassin hissed. He would really have to get his guard up again.
Just behind the ninjas, a large boulder jumped from out of nowhere, rushing its way towards the ninjas.

The rest of the mages were focusing on a large spider that was causing a bit of madness. Slothbird was looking at it curiously, as if he thought it might be something more. When the spider was thrown out the window by Celestial, Slothbird looked as if it wanted to follow. "Go," Hunter whispered. "Don't hurt it, stay hidden, if it is anything more than just a bug it may lead you somewhere." With his instructions given, Slothbird took wing out the window.
While Celestial was trying to get Nature out of the cupboard, Hunter was left just to think. He knew Slothbird was intelligent, but if that spider led him into trouble, there would be now way for Hunter to know. There was no sense in worrying about it now, though.
((I hope that didn't seem too much like filler. I also feel like I should be creating some Mageri characters, but I'm not sure where this is going, so I'll wait for the moment.))

"Erm… you know Nature, there's nothing wrong with-"
Omni wasn't expecting the shriek; she nearly jumped out of her skin. As Nature ran and hid in a cupboard, Omni whipped around a bit to find what scared Nature. Woah! That's a big spider. She went through the cupboards, not really caring about putting things back in place. As she turned around to face the spider, a colander in one hand and a cutting board in the other, she watched as Celestial blew it out the window.
"…Thanks, Celes." I really should learn some air magic.
Omni set the cooking instruments down, and headed across the room, pausing to check on her sandwich and put it on a plate. "Nature? It's okay."

The voices were getting louder right now. They were telling her to come out. If Nature would've been in her right mind, she would've rolled her eyes and wondered if the others forgot that her name was Nature, not Prudence. But the Freezemancer wasn't in her right mind at the moment. Her nightmare stubbornly stayed in her head, plaguing her with morbid and frightening mental images. It was too much for her to handle, and then with the spider . . . Suddenly, Nature froze. There was something crawling up her back. Something big . . . and hairy . . . and insect-like . . . Another shriek rang from inside the cupboard, and soon Nature bolted out of it and hid under the table. She burst into tears, rolled up into ball and rocked herself childishly, sniffing and crying like a five-year-old who saw a very scary horror film for the first time. It was official: the Freezemancer's mental state had - without a doubt - totally gone downhill. ===*=== Marthae, Dymien and Lireo walked on until they found the Hall where the Mageri held their meetings. Marthae turned around and looked at the two other Mageri behind her. "Stay here," she commanded. "I will go and see if Evandra or the Leader is here. Don't do anything funny." Marthae opened the doors to the hall and saw Evandra standing there, looking at her pocket watch, the second-in-command's most valuable trinket. Althius was there too, apparently trying to find his seat. But the Leader was no where in sight. Marthae walked to the hooded being (Evandra, obviously), exasperated. "Evandra!" Marthae snapped. She usually wasn't this grumpy (especially to Evandra, who was ranks higher than her, though she was younger), but she was very practical on punctuality, especially of those whose ranks were lower than hers. "Where are the other Mageris? Don't they know of this urgency?" She looked up and down at her Superior, her irritation turning into confusion. "Erm, don't mind me asking, Ma'am, but . . . why does it look like a storm's rained on you?" ===*=== Outside the Hall, Dymien gave a loud yawn and crossed his hands together, a bored expression on his face. "What's taking ol' Marthae so long?", he wondered out loud. Lireo sighed. "I don't know, but it must be urgent." An idea suddenly popped into the lightning-controller's mind. She gave her companion a sly smile. "You know, we are all alone here . . ." Dymien suddenly became aware of the female Mageri. "Okay . . . and what does that mean?" Lireo walked up to the incantator and held him closer to her. "That means," she replied coyly, "that you and I can spend some time together." She whispered in his ear. "And to continue what we were doing earlier . . ." Lireo giggled and kissed her companion's lips with a subtle yet fiery passion. Soon, Dymien had the courage to kiss back. His face was red all over, much to the satisfaction of his lover. ((Could someone please interrupt these two lovebirds? Adds the lulz. )) ===*=== It took a while before Demene could get her head out of the saltshaker. Without any hesitation, she walked up to Seline and tried to pull off the pitcher from the older Elvish Dragon's head. It was soon off, and it flew across the room and landed on the other side with a thud. Thankfully, the pitcher was plastic, so it didn't break. But Seline was now drenched with sticky orange juice. She was fuming mad. "I am going to kill that Zafara--" the snow Dragon started, but Demene cut in. "Seline!" She rebuked the older Elvish Dragon. "Did you forget? Maybe Nature saw something terrible that's gonna happen. You should understand what Nature's going through right now."Seline grumbled and sat herself on the floor. "Sorry," she reluctantly apologized. She sometimes hated Demene for being such a goody two-shoes. She sighed and looked toward her owner, who was shaking and crying under the dining table. ===*=== A few seconds later, one of the Manor's resident pet tarantulas crawled out from the cupboard and walked into the hall to go back to its cage. ==*=== ((P.S. A cookie and a Beatles song can calm Nature down. Oh, and the spider was just an ordinary spider. Nothing special about, except that is scares Nature out of her socks. XD *brick'd by self*))

"Erm, don't mind me asking, Ma'am, but . . . why does it look like a storm's rained on you?"
Evandra narrowed her eyes. "I'd really rather not think about it. Let's just say I ran into some of those misfits on the way here. I can't wait to put them all out of their misery...or at least, march them off into our dungeons and have them work for us. That will teach them. Anyway, I'm sure the rest will be here soon...perhaps some are coming from far-flung places, or had business of their own, like Althius."
Meanwhile, the mentioned Mageri was still looking around for a good seat. It turned out that the one he had aimed for didn't have a good view of the front. As he passed by the doors of the Hall, he saw two people...doing...
Thinking quickly, he stuck his head out and said loudly, "Oy, urgent meeting here, all Mageri wanted! That means you two!" Althius winced, rubbing his arms as though he had been doused with cold water.
When he returned, he noticed that the Hall still wasn't filled up.
"Should I call them, Evandra?" he asked. "Get into their heads?"
"I have already sent telepathic messages to everyone I know, hoping that they would pass them on," was the reply. "Ugh, we're really late now..."
* * *
A swish of her staff brought order to the dining hall once again. Spills were cleaned, utensils were placed back onto the table as though they had never been used...Kat nodded to herself. Her job was done here.
Then Nature bolted out of the cupboard, followed by a tarantula.
"Someone ought to keep tabs on the creatures roaming around," said Kat, shaking her head. She found a large enough plate and urged the big spider to crawl onto it before she covered the plate with a clear lid. Though unhurt, it was trapped.
"All right, off you go, back to your brothers and sisters." The tarantula was gone in a flash - literally. An extremely purple flash. Turning around to the rest of the mages, she said, "All hands on the dining table. We've got things to talk about." But upon seeing Nature under the table, Kat pursed her lips and ducked underneath as well.
She reached out to her fellow mage. "No more spiders. I don't mind dispatching them, really. Besides, their place isn't in the kitchen." Straightening up, she said, "I think this situation also calls for cookies. Yup, a meeting over cookies."
