The look on Salamander's face would have been priceless had the situation not been so serious. "W-what?" the young mage gasped, eyes wide. "'Hunting?' Mages 'like you?' W-why? Who?" She caught a breath quickly, knowing that she sounded like a babbling idiot. "What... what do we do about this? A-a-and, what exactly do you mean by 'like you?'"

"W-what? Hunting?' Mages 'like you?' W-why? Who? What... what do we do about this? A-a-and, what exactly do you mean by 'like you?'" Salah asked hurriedly. Celestial looked down at the ground.
"I really wish I knew the answer to all your questions but that is all I got. It seems the dragons know as much as we do at this point. Like me might mean anything. It could be that they are casting their nets wide and hunting for elemental mages or specifically just those who have the features of animals. We shouldn't take any chances now" she said awkwardly. Celestial hated not knowing but to be asked to provide answers she did not have was even worse.
We have to hope that we find out more before it is too late. Overlord spoke in her mind. In the meantime we have to hope that they do not slip into our company otherwise it will end up being a Glencoe.
Be vary of strangers, do not offer them shelter or food in case they kill us when we go to sleep Celestial asked Overlord with a cynical tone. You sure have everything worked out...shame we won't be able to provide shelter to those who really need it if we implement your method.
((I'm sorry I did an obscure reference to Scottish history but I was listening to the song at the time. ^^;; ))

As the last book found its way into the shelves - some of them had homing spells that allowed them to return to their places, especially when they came from the more far-flung corners of the library - Kat heard the sudden growl of her stomach. Time for breakfast.
She walked outside and down the corridor leading to the dining hall, wondering where everyone was - or if she had woken up late again.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps.
"Good morning," said Kat, without even looking over her shoulder as she continued toward her destination.

"Ah, here's the beach. NATURE?" Omni called.
"She should be pretty close," the robed mage mentioned.
Omni looked over the beach. "I see something over there. Come on."
-----
"Wow, larger crowd than I was expecting."
"Hey." Omni raised her hand in greeting. "…What are you all doing here?"

"PFA-san!" Upon hearing this, the said person jumped, losing her concentration and dropping the shield she was keeping up. PFA grimaced. She needed to work on that.
"The superior?" PFA blinked, hearing what the other ninja had said. The superior wanted them? Was there a new mission for them? She absently wondered what this mission could be. She just hoped they wouldn't have to chase down another rogue ninja.
With a sigh, PFA started on her way out of the Training Room, beckoning Bettyming to follow. She didn't have to go far; the Briefing Room was just a door down. She saw that Uncle was already there, talking with the superior. PFA bowed to the latter.
"I apologize if I'm interrupting something," she said, "but I heard that you wanted to talk to me?"

Hunter managed to find the way to the dining hall. He hadn't had breakfast yet today, and he decided that it would be no use looking around the manor on an empty stomach. He wouldn't be able to concentrate on his magic if the need came to protect himself, either. On the way there, he saw another mage in front of him. She said good morning without even turning around. Well, there's somebody to ask about things.
"Good morning," He replied. "I'm a bit new around here, and this place seems pretty empty. Confusing too, for that matter. Well, I should probably introduce myself before I continue rambling. I'm Hunter, and-" Then, as if on cue, Slothbird flew down to his shoulder. "-and this is Slothbird. You headed to breakfast too?"

Kat turned around. "Pleased to meet you, Hunter. Welcome to Mage Manor. My name is Kalianne Lunara, but people around just call me Kat. I was going to have breakfast, but I just can't shake the feeling that something is up..."

"What are you all doing here?"Tears formed in Nature's eyes when she saw her mentor again. Quickly, she rushed toward the fire-fur and put her in a long, tight hug. "Lady Omni!" She sniffed. "It was horrible! These people want mages hunted down! They were killing all the mages who, who--" She broke down sobbing. ===*=== Demene woke up to find herself all alone by the seashore. Well, not really alone. Beside her was a cloaked dark figure, whose red eyes were glowing with anger and malice. "Where are they, Little Dragon?", the being asked. Her voice was dark and dangerous. Demene blinked at the hooded entity before her. Who was she looking for?, the little storm-controller wondered. Being the courteous little dragon she was, Demene quietly asked: "Um, who are you looking for, ma'am?" ===*===
((At this point, anyone who knows the Mageri well can control the mysterious person. XD))

(Sorry, was expecting a PM from Jakie and Bettyming's reply post)
"Ah, good to have replied to my request, PFA," complemented Superior as he gestured her to come closer. Though rather delayed, the pre-occupied Cat Assassin stepped aside to make way for his niece.
Superior wasted no time in justifying his call of specific ninjas to the Briefing Room. "Just recently, our scout teams have reported unknown activity within the one-mile parameter of the Ninja Dojo. The scouts were attacked without any warning, and most of them were severely injured."
"... And this is why I am sending Cat Assassin and two ninjas of superb performances. I'm talking about you as one of them, PFA," Superior smiled. "New as she may be, Bettyming is the other choice. Cat Assassin, by the end of this meeting, you are to look for a third member of your preference, and go quickly to the spot where the scouts have last spotted the unknown group," he added, in which the cat nodded in agreement.
With that, Superior waved his hand side-to-side. "Dismiss," he confirmed.
As soon as the ninjas exited the Briefing Room, Cat Assassin turned towards PFA. "Let's find Bettyming and... Jakie."

Kat thinks something is going on too, he thought. "Well, maybe the other mages could tell us something about it when they get back. Until then, there's no sense in worrying." Like I'm one to talk. I was just nervous about walking into the Manor. Slothbird was getting tense, it seemed, looking around worriedly. Slothbird got like that when he thought danger was coming. Thing is, he was usually right.
Slothbird then just took off towards the dining hall. The attention span of a flea. Hunter thought, but subconsciously took out his staff again. If something was coming, he wasn't going down without a fight.

PFA bowed to the superior again, before following her Uncle out of the Briefing Room.
Jakie? PFA was, admittedly, surprised by Uncle's choice. Not that Jakie was a bad ninja, of course, but it didn't really seem like the most likely choice to PFA. Perhaps that was why he picked her?
"Bettyming was in the Training Room, last I saw," PFA said to Uncle. "Jakie, I don't know where she is. In her quarters, maybe."

(trying to get my character in here somehow...)
Bettyming rushed into the Breifing Room, with pieces of stuffing from the training dummy littering her outfit. "Is there something wrong, sir? I'm supposed to be here...right?"

(Bettyming: Of course you know, going in the Briefing Room means you've spotted us already. But what the heck, I'll roleplay that anyway.)
Superior looked at Bettyming with much curiosity, seeing that she was covered with straws and leather. He reckoned she was busy with the training dummies. "You are supposed to, but your team leader Cat Assassin will give you the details. He and his team haven't gone too far, so give chase before you are left out."

Omni was caught by surprise when Nature suddenly ran up and hugged her.
"Lady Omni! It was horrible! These people want mages hunted down! They were killing all the mages who, who--"
Omni paused. Hunting down mages? …The Mageri maybe? It had probably been another nightmare, that's what happened the last time she saw Nature like this.
"Shh… calm down." Unsure of what to say that would be comforting, she decided to change the subject. "Say, why don't we head back to the Manor and get something to eat? I didn't have much of a breakfast anyway."
"So… what now?" the robed mage inquired. "I can't teleport this many people."

"Well, where are they?!" Demene kept her mouth shut, not answering the cloaked person's question. Angered, the mysterious woman picked up the little Elvish Dragon from the scruff of her neck and shook the poor thing violently. "I have tried to be patient with you, but if you don't answer my question, I will certainly tear you to shreds! Now, WHERE ARE THEY?!" Demene didn't answer. Instead, a thunderstorm cloud suddenly hovered over the woman's head and, without warning, zapped the cloaked being and doused her with rain, forcing her to let the storm-controller go. Now that she was free, Demene wasted no time and ran away as fast as she could, heading back to the manor. ===*=== "Shh… calm down. Say, why don't we head back to the Manor and get something to eat? I didn't have much of a breakfast anyway."Nature's stomach answered with a loud grumble. The Zafara didn't eat anything before sunrise, and not eating for several hours can drive one. So, Nature nodded in agreement. "O-okay," she nervously stuttered, still affected by her horrible nightmare. At that moment, Demene rushed toward the group and stood beside Seline. The older dragon looked down at the younger one and frowned at her. "Where the heck have you been, Demmie?" the snow-controlling reptile asked her fellow dragon. Demene sighed and shook her head. "I don't want to think about it . . ." she murmured quietly. Seline shrugged. "Your loss, then," she replied. Nature looked down at the dragons and forced a weak smile. "H-h-how about it, guys? W-want something t-to eat?" Seline and Demene nodded quickly. With this, Nature turned to her mentor and forced another smile. "Wh-what's for b-breakfast?" ===*=== The zaps and splashes she received made her more irritable than ever before. The woman got up from the sandy shore and growled at the direction the dragon ran off to. "Wait 'till the Leader hears about this." With that, she stalked off muttering curses against "illegal" mages and their "illegal" pets.
