Oh, that's an interesting point -- I hadn't thought of Altador's comment, but I guess this can't be all about Sophie's backstory! There's precedent for user participation in "historical" events , but Altador's reference does make it sound like there must be some present-day stuff. *cheers quietly for Gilly* Actually, I think in some recent plots there's been some... dawdling in the middle. LDP somewhat but Curse of Maraqua especially seemed like they had a few chapters where nothing actually happened, which meant they not only had to rush things to finish up in time for... uh, something else, I guess... but that the ending chapters seemed even faster by comparison, and the slower chapters seemed even more pointless when the things in them didn't get followed up on. IMHO.

I had a feeling that the sister was going to be Sophie. I don't have any of the trading cards so I'm not as informed as some people about all this stuff.
I'm guessing that we'll get the story up until the present time. Then we'll have to help stop whatever curse seems to be placed upon the town. It makes sense to me that at some point we would have to talk to Sophie.
The Third part of the story hasn't come out yet, but my guess is that eventually the potion will turn everyone into zombies. I remember someone saying that there were zombies in the trading cards.

Firstly, you don't actually have to own any TCG cards. Don't you know there's a checklist on the Neopets site that has an image of every TCG card they ever released? Here is the link, so you can know it now and forevermore. Secondly, just because there's a card of zombies in the set does not mean that there will be zombies in this plot. There are cards that don't fit any plots, plus cards from old plots like Darkest Faerie (The Taint) and the Wand of Wishing video game (Followers of Meow, The Founder, Wand of Wishing, etc). I'm sure TNT won't have time to include ghost petpets, zombies, sentient gravestones, attacking brooms, evil trees, and creeping shadows all in one plot, and yet all of those things are in the TCG set.

"Zombie" is kind of a loose term in Neopets.... Everything from actual undead to generally grotesquified to mind-controlled.
It seems a bit odd the the curse would have lasted into Sophie's adulthood and through her becoming a capable witch of her own, but maybe it's something she hasn't been able to go back and deal with.
What I'm wondering, though... Ilere is listed as a villain. Even darling Illusen apparently has a chapter on poisons in her book. (If you drink anything from chapter 3, you'll need something from chapter 4 -- which is healing remedies.) Did Ilere brew the Hissi Oil?
(Nimras's comment on this via IM: "From fresh Hissis daily!")

I'd love to see how a Hissi townsperson would react to this miraculous Hissi Oil. X3 Or is it that Hissis just ALWAYS get what they want? ^__^
And I'd prefer no zombies. The Desert plot had mummy zombies. The Hannah plot had ice zombies. The Darkest Faerie plot had mind-controlled townspeople 'zombies.' Let's have some baddies we can smash that have actual brains!

How about... CRAZY MUTANT MONSTERS THAT EAT PEOPLE! Eh? Eh? Just read Part Two, and yeah, this being the Prologue, this means nearly any information we've gleaned from the TCG Expansion is now moot, because they've covered all of that in the last two chapters. So Part Three should be fresh!

*grin* There's only one zombie card -- currently what we've got does indeed seem to be people who are still themselves in a way (with their dearest desires given and exaggerated horribly, but still) and reacting in psychologically reasonable ways. So that's good for now, right?

Wait, this plot is kind of heading in the direction of bad science, so maybe some kind of evil doctor/alchemist will be an opponent?

Oooh evil alchemist...I would like much! But I hope this isn't a war plot! This will be the second war plot I'd have to sit out since my battle pet was AAed then frozen x.x
The first war plot I missed was with Kass cause my whole account got frozen and I couldn't train my new pet in time ;__; That made me miss out on two avatars. If this is a war plot I guess I'll be missing out on two or more avatars again -_-
By the time CoM came out I had to be a supporter because my new pets where still too weak
I'm starting to think war plots are bad luck to my pets and accounts o.o
Well if this is going to be a war anything I hope we get to do the supporter thing but I sux at all Haunted Wood games ;__;...in the end I still hope this will have nothing to do with war xD

It still looks to me like it's in line with the common folkloric theme of "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it." I've got to admit though, I would kind of like another war plot... and despite my not being much of a battler, I'd rather it not be one that's "scaled" the way Maraqua was.

*dances around* I hope Sophie plays a bigbigbig part in this plot. I mean, she seems to already be a big character in the Prologue...

I just hope "Dance Of The Meepits" is somehow involved. >_>

What sort of things were really gleaned from the TCG anyway? Not much. Main characters, mostly. There are very very few cards that match this plot in this set.
