One theme for the whole house, but each theme encompasses a whole lot of furniture. For example, the card series, balloon series, robo series, egg series and Nintendo series all fall under the Toy Shop theme. (also some furniture falls under multiple themes)
I tend to mix and match. I have a mermaid/fishing series room with the underwater wall and floor, an angel room with the cloud wall/floor and a mix of princess and regal furniture, and a faerie room with weeding day and mushroom furniture. I'm working on an ice room with the lunar horizon wallpaper. (Also, ice lamps. In like three rooms.) I get bored if I put only one type of furniture in a room. It feels too coordinated. XD

If anyone is interested. Julian is currently camping in my town today. My village is currently full until after the 13th, and so I am unable to take him. He's up for grabs to anyone who ether wants him or has him as one of their dream villagers. Will hop online anytime BEFORE 6:30pm NZ time. PM me if your interested!

You poor soul, at least she moved away, right? From what I heard, ignoring certain villagers long enough will result in them moving away. Thing was that, due to time traveling shenanigans, my town's mostly full of unwanted villagers. -.-

You're more likely to get rid of villagers you interact with. Otherwise you need to be tricky, hide somewhere out of sight for 5+ minutes, then run into town and hope you get a villager run up you you wanting something. As for time traveling, I do that a lot since I'll forget to play a month or so at a time XD I just skip a couple days at a time. Play Monday, then Friday, then Wednesday, then repeat till I reach the day I want (sometimes change that pattern for holidays or birthdays or whatever). This makes sure I can run around and check up on the villagers I like and make sure they don't ever leave or ask to leave.

The best thing you can do is talk to her often and do tasks for her and send her letters. I guess the game is programmed so that the ones you talk to least stay for the longest so you can befriend them; and the ones you talk to most are more likely to leave so the game can cycle in new villagers. I've also heard that the villager that most recently moved in can not move out; I haven't seen any proof for this, but I've had the same town December 2013 and I've never had the most recent move-in move out. You're also more likely to get villagers to move out if you have 10 villagers; if you have 8 or below, I don't think anyone will request to move out.

I had written a longer post going into detail about my thoughts and feelings in response to yours, but I deleted it and instead I'll submit the tl;dr version: ARGH(I'm not mad at you, of course. Just at how a game about cute anthropomorphic animals can be a lot more frustrating than it needs to be)

Yyyeah, Blueysicle, the cycling of villagers in Animal Crossing: New Leaf is really complicated and if you want to maintain some semblance of control it would be best to look up some guides or videos about it. xD

Nah to the last part XD Flora moved into my town, and the next week moved out without a word. No one else moved during that time.
