O.O Thanks for the advice, Hayati!
Also, I've got a question for you guys:
In the Nook homes, Nook sells those complete-remodels of your house to look like medieval castles or Japanese Edo-era castles and stuff. Can you also buy the facades and roofs for those, or is it in one-flavor only? Like, could you have the Storybook front on a castle?

actually, if you alter your router's name to bestbuy, apparently, you can get the special items without going outside. this is according to gameFAQS. Really? Because I thought the official site claimed that it was related to Nintendo Zone and stuff. ...so does that reveal something about how the Nintendo Zone backend works? 0_o;

A few questions to those who have this game.
1. How's the grass wear? Better or worse than in City Folk? Does your town have giant ugly grassless patches already, or does it wear slow?
2. I understand that houses can be placed practically anywhere as opposed to the previous system of pre-defined "house" locations. Are there any "safe" areas to plant flowers? Or is it always a possibility that they will get pwned if an animal decides to move in on the spot they're on? XD
3. On that topic, is there any way to prevent a house from being built on a location you don't want it in?
4. Can we still drag shirts into the inventory background? XD

1:The grass wear is not as bad as city folk, thank god.
2: They can be PWNED, but if you use your island resources well, you don't have to worry about running out of flowers.
3: Not really.
4: I don't think so. I liked that feature from the first game. XD

I completely forgot about the shirts thing, but now that they made most premade shirts "pro" designs, I'm not too hopeful about that. Now that I try it, it doesn't seem to work--after all, the backgrounds are based on which submenu you're in now.
New houses have already crushed one of my cherry saplings and a good chunk of roadway, so I'm guessing nobody's safe and they just cut down what they need to, although frankly I'm not too sure about full-grown trees. If you make a public work somewhere, though, I imagine that would "reserve" the spot, but of course you can only work on one at a time.
I heard about the grass wear, but I haven't noticed any change over these short few days. Besides, flowers apparently make everything better anyways.

Yeah, the island lets you get SO many flowers. My plan is to dump a bunch of flowers in a bare spot and take screencaps once a day until it's full green. I'll let you know how it goes. :3 (I looove the screencap feature)

Yeah, I managed to get everything that I feel like getting within one visit, and now instead of complaining about not having enough lilies and orchids, they're taking over the place. I guess the minigames are good for that. 0_0; A couple of flowers have started to mix colours, though, so that's pretty nice. Orange pansies are really cool-looking. Apparently, I've progressed from "freshman mayor" to "pro listener". Is it a variable thing based on what activities you do a lot of, or is it just a linear title track based on hours played, or what? Also, I told Twiggy to start saying "weewoo" and now every new person in town since then has started to use it as their catchphrase. Like an epidemic or something. WHAT HAVE I DONE

I'm not worried about running out of flowers, I'm worried about making a project (such as a golden rose garden or a picture made out of flowers) or something and having it ruined. D:

D: I think there's a Fence option for public works, and I imagine that stuff like that is exactly what it's for. Apparently new houses can build over anything except public works, anyways.

That's good to know. I really wouldn't want my golden rose garden to be squashed by a house.

Yeah, I just wonder how big that fenced-in area really is. From the little icon, it didn't seem so large. :C Maybe about the size of a house-footprint.

WHAT HAVE I DONE Does it hurt their feelings when you give them new catchphrases? I'm pretty sure I've had the chance to change Lolly's at least once or twice but I keep just telling her her current one is fine because I don't want her to be sad. XD;

XD; Well, they seem to be like "OMIGASH it's perfect" whenever you do change it, so I imagine it's happiness-neutral or otherwise equal to any other pointless conversation ("I see you have a net. Nets are nice"). Just make sure you don't change it to something that you're going to have to complain in town hall about.
