I heard there will be 26 episodes, but I don't know if that's only for Season One or for the whole series.

I remember hearing when they first brought up the remake, stuff about making Sailor Uranus and Neptune true to their characters and not edit them like they did in the first series. So they would either be cramming a lot into 26 episodes, or there will be more seasons.

I've heard a lot of SOA before, so I want to get starting watching it. Of course, Sailor Moon is one the classics I will always love.

I hope there's more than one season...though I can understand why they might just make SMC 26 episodes.

At the moment, they may only do a season as a test. It's supposed to be a new art style, for some reason is airing on NicoNico, and even has the original voice actress for Sailor Moon re-voicing herself. So it may run for a season as a test, see how well it does, then continue the series like it should.
Then there's hope for it being brought out of Japan, dubbed, released on dvd/blu-ray, etc.

If there's a dub, it better be exactly like the the sub!

If there's a dub, it better be exactly like the the sub! It's near impossible to do that. When a dub is made, they take the effort to try and match lips. So words get changed to fit. They'll also change words so western audience can relate better too in most cases. Such as Sailor Scout. We won't hear Sailor Senshi. Most dubbing companies also take out the honorifics in dubs, like kun or sensei or anything else that might be added to the end of a name. The same goes for pop culture references in many cases. Where they might mention a real life famous singer (or a parody of them) in Japan, it'll usually be replaced with one from here. There have been series dubbed that have the whole scripts re-written because of this (Crayon Shin-Chan for example is a totally different story here, both equally good in their own ways). As for the voice and tone. Again, depending on the company, they try to get one that resembles a little. But they might also change it depending how a character acts. In the Japanese version a character might have a tone that resembles a popular Japanese "trope" but that "trope" might not have much or any meaning here so we'll alter it to a tone that we might relate to. Most companies these days will try to have as much original Japanese script, tone, everything as possible. Some companies going as far as buying the rights to distribute the series but never even dubbing it (Sentai Filmworks holds the crime for this (crime to me since a lot of what they have I WANT dubbed). These days dubs are a lot better then they were in the past, where they just slapped some random badly acted voices to a series and called it a day. However no matter what, you get people who will complain that the original is superior no matter what, and won't even bat a eyelash as a dub, or will listen to it and instantly say it's bad. -- When I watch a series, I like to listen and enjoy what I'm watching most of the time. When I have to read subtitles I tend to focus on them and miss a lot of things, or the subs run so fast I miss things and will often have to pause to fully read. I used to watch a lot of subs before they were dubbed. As soon as most are dubbed I simply move onto them. I might critique a voice choice or two, but overall I get used to it and don't care much after. When it comes to the new Sailor Moon, I hope for a new voice cast compared to the original dub here, since it was one of those dubs where the voicing was pretty terrible, they slapped accents on people who didn't really need or had any normally, and well, it was bad. But at the same time it was in most cases people's first introduction into anime and that's still special.

I liked whoever voiced Sailor Moon. She was great.
If I could think o a series that needs a better dub, it'd be Tokyo Mew Mew as Mew Mew Power sucked (BADLY).

Considering that 4Kids was the company behind the dub for Tokyo Mew Mew, I'm not surprised. I do remember one early Pokemon episode (back from the Kanto era) where riceballs (Asian specialty) was translated into donuts. Quite jarring to see.

They (And DIC) claimed a lot of food were Western. 0_o Like dumplings were donuts, too.

4Kids is possibly the worst company to dub anything. They murder almost all they touch.
DIC doesn't to much anime, but the bit they do they aren't the greatest at it either.

So...Um, I just read an article that claimed that this company is planning on not only re-releasing Sailor Moon in digital HD later this fall, but they're also planning on re-dubbing the whole series to make it more truer to the original Japanese.
...Now excuse me as I twitch on the ground and have various strokes. 0_0

Word on the voice cast will be released at Anime Expo in July. Some News
